Awesome breakdown 😁 You have one set of trained eyes! Maybe next time you can look at Valentina from the house of Valentina or Rebecca Robeson from Kinwoven/Robeson designs.
Thank you so much for breaking down Studio Mcgee's style. You did such a great job breaking the style down and giving tons of examples of how to create a space similar to her design style.
The main characteristic of McGee is scale. Put big items in bigger settings. Another style characteristic is filtering when photograph. Over exposure filter can make everything bright and fresh.
Excellent video. Thanks for breaking down her style. I would like to discuss what a 75% formula for paint is, though. It is not the addition of white pigment, it is 75% of each pigment being put into the base instead of the full 100%. Formulas can also be increased in order to make a color darker. The mixologist needs to be sure that they don’t super saturate a base, though.
When i watch her show on netflix i really appreciate her style and i really love it but after one another and another episode i get bored it's look like just the same but i know its her aesthetics and i understand it
I love McGee style and yes it’s a bit repetitive but at the same time the colors are classic and won’t go out of style. Yet HGTV, Flip or Flop drive me bonkers with all the repetitive use of GRAY! Literally every home 🤦🏼♀️
love love this new found site!!! tell me the story about your painting behind you. I'm an artist (outside art) with a brick n mortar store , leaving farmhouse and going more modern, bo ho, trying to restyle my red brick porch (rented not allowed to paint ) with lots of macrame this week
*a fantastic neutral creamy white paint in all bulbs and daylights is Origami White at Sherman williams. Do Duration or Emerald not promar 200. It looks brighter before it dries. It looks varied in different lighting while maintaining continuity 👍 and compliments all color changes of fabrics and art
Yes her style is the best because you can mix the traditional with modern. Which means me and my wife can compromise, lol. All modern will drive me nuts, while all traditional will do the same for her. Thank goodness for Studio McGee.
Love watching your videos, get so inspired 🌷 wish could get help with so many issues I have in my house.. The most that bothers me is a lot of different shades of wood around.. I have warm / slightly dark Burma teak wood flooring , also have wood furniture around , am looking for a center coffee table am a bit confused ...
Loved you video!😍 Can you maybe help me with Shea's indoor pots and greenery. I ❤ it, but I can never get it right😔...the type of flower pots, height, width with real/fake..or whats best greenery to last the longest? How high or wide plants in pot? To always let it look like that. Please help🤗 From a South African🇿🇦
Expensive...that is her style. Totally in shock after seeing what it costs. I really used to like it, then there are many others that I like even better, less costly actually! Not everyone ist ready to spend this much money, even if I could, there is more important things in life...Like stopping animal cruelty etc. (She uses lots of leather btw!!) Great video though, to the point and very well researched. Thank you! Subscribed.
Well that's why they have studio mcgee at Target. Poor man's version of Mcgee&Co. At least they thought of us haha. I too was very shocked when I saw the prices for the first time.
@@misslee6788 yeah, haha...so true. Unfortunately we don't have Target here in Europe...I loved it years ago in the states and now even more, giving normal ppl the chance to create beautiful homes
I like Your taste, and thank you! my house is look like a junkyard now, because of all my photography props, Because I have a few projects lined up, and I don’t have a space, 🙁 Hopefully I will build a studio somewhere, What do you think about mid century modern and industrial? I like wood and texture And natural tones, as well, and I have two beautiful chairs, It’s mixed Wood and wicker, and very sleek simple Sofa, I chose tope, it doesn’t clash with any other color
also again I can't say enough for esalerugs...I have one in every room, and even on the porch and patio...yes there are outdoor rugs...again i don't work for them, I am just a fan of rugs...and theirs have free delivery, are good and so many to choose from...
The true mettle of an interior designer, not decorator (there is a distinction), is to use the existing furnishings, then change some of the elements instead of design from the bototm up. If you have a big budget it's nothing to buy Barbara Barry, Donghia furniture, or George Smith classic tightback English sofa and make it work--success is inherent. Shea understand the elements and principles of design and it will be interesting to see how she adapts in the design world in the next 20 yrs. A skillful interior designer can do ALL the design perioda, not just one or two, which is the test. I've seen other designers fail at this challenge.
LOVE this video and supuseful! As is what all of us trying to "get" from ALL The pinterst pics we like. ( Ay least me, trying to Guess what I like). For The question...love to know Emily Henderson Style secrets;)(i have her book, though;). And, on another Hans, i promise I still dont get what is boho, boho chic, bohobudget, bohotoomuch for me,bohojungle,bohocheap,bohominimal,...and what males a boho space put together without looking like all pics. Of bohobudget friendly...maybe you can see what I mean. Joe to decorate boho without beeing one more.
A big, proportionate space with high ceilings is almost the most important thing. Try to make a 40 sq meters apartment look grand and "airy" while meeting the practical needs for three adults.🙄The houses she does are huuugh. I can't even see the air conditioners or heaters which are so common in ordinary people's home in a off-centre spot on a wall, just as an example. If you have lots of money , and a large house, i can make it beautiful blindfolded.
We love Shae McGee!!!
Nobody asked ...but...we also love Arvin!
@@rocklobstah1876 h@h@h@
Excited about the collab
It would be lovely for the next video if you did a more European approach, one that can adapt to smaller spaces (like apartments).
I like that idea ! It would be great to see something in those lines.
Yeeeees thiiiis!!!!
Living in a small apartment myself, I love this idea!! :)
I love that you are right into point without going on and on or repeat.
Awesome breakdown 😁 You have one set of trained eyes!

Thank you so much for breaking down Studio Mcgee's style. You did such a great job breaking the style down and giving tons of examples of how to create a space similar to her design style.
You have done an excellent job at presenting this with such clarity! Thank you for showing the "ABC's" in this awesome summary 👏. Very practical tool
The main characteristic of McGee is scale. Put big items in bigger settings. Another style characteristic is filtering when photograph. Over exposure filter can make everything bright and fresh.
Thank you for discussing this designer....I really love her style. 🙂
Not my style and actually tired of the jump on board design trends😩 However I watched ur vid to see the what and why analysis. You did a great job!
Great video! Love how she mixes natural textures and colors. And love your glasses too 😍😍
Not really my style in general but I do like the bathrooms. Never heard about that pot filler thing but how cool!
A lovely break down Posh Pennies. And so useful. Thank you.👍
Another accurate and concise analysis!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome as always, Vivian!
Whoops! ViviEn!
Fantastic and useful summary with photos. Quality!!! Im sharing. 😎
Thank you 💖😊
And I love your glasses!!

You have a lovely voice and your diction is delightful! Hi from Australia 🇦🇺! 🙋🏻♀️
Spot on! Please do Joanna Gaines, Leclair Decor, and Amber Interiors!
She doesn't like the overkill of Joanna Gaines style. Watch her other videos and you get that picture.
Can you do a video on Karin Bohn? I love her style too. Would love to see your highlights. Its like a class on decor. thank you.
Love this video! Thank you so much for the explanation. Could you please do "How to decorate like Sophie Paterson?" Thanks a million.
Yes! Great suggestion

You’re great - so glad I found your channel!
Thank you so much for breaking down her beautiful style, I've always dream of designing my space in her style and this is very helpful
Love this! My vote is for Atheena Calderone
When i watch her show on netflix i really appreciate her style and i really love it but after one another and another episode i get bored it's look like just the same but i know its her aesthetics and i understand it
Couldn't agree more
Agree 100% … always white off white and light brown… same same same
White, beige, bland, boring
Her style looks great but very predictable and safe …
I love McGee style and yes it’s a bit repetitive but at the same time the colors are classic and won’t go out of style. Yet HGTV, Flip or Flop drive me bonkers with all the repetitive use of GRAY! Literally every home 🤦🏼♀️
Don’t forget the 12 foot ceilings… that helps too.
This was totally on point! Great video!!
Please do Rebecca Robeson next time. Thanks!❤️
Amber Interiors please!! soo obsessed with her style

I love color combination of this style and is beautiful.
One question I always ask myself when fancy designers design fancy table lighting: “where are the cords?!” 😩
Thank you for this. Also can you take a look at Amber Lewis' style breakdown?

I am leaning towards industrial look for our studio and living area
Excellent spot on

I find everything about Studio McGee pretty annoying, but I still liked this video. Fun!
Please do a video Jean Stoffer 🤩
What is that lovely art piece in the background?
Good job!
Hia. Do you know whether the gorgeous table lamp which appears at 4:34 minutes is still available to buy?
Alison Victoria, Nate and Jeremiah
Cool outfit
Has studio McGee ever done a small space, e.g., city condo?
with the vintage rugs in the bathroom....does this act the same way as a bath matt? Do they get mouldy being wet all the time?
Could you do Sophie Paterson
Hi fellow Canadian,
Do you have to go to the States to get Studio McGee?
Rebecca Roberson from Kinwoven and her daughter they are both designers and each have their own youtube.
That large picture in the back ground, where did u get it?
PLEASE turn down the background music. Very distracting. Thanks for the style breakdown. Very helpful!
Hi, can you do Nam Dang Mitchell.
Those are tbe 80--ties reinvented. The same colours, the same materials - updated shapes and surprising combinations, that is it..
What's the painting behind you? Love it!
It might be by Gustav Klimt but not 100% sure.

Of course. Not the reality of most people.
