You combined such beautiful colors from the makeup to your dress to the sandals it looked so classy on you I am so glad I found a person's tutorial that deals with the situations I have and I'm 70 years old and I can work with them and not look underage or over aged thank you so much
Kerry Lou you are just naturally beautiful at any age. I love watching your videos especially this one with all the tips you give. I like how you share all the product names you use with many being inexpensive and affordable. Your hair, makeup gown, shoes and jewelry all pulled together so perfectly! You are one put together lady! I am also 60+ and still have super long hair (all one length) almost to my waist that is thick and wavy so the pin up won't work for me but I love how you incorporated the hair scrunchie. I just may have to get one. Thanks for another great video! 💕
You looked beautiful! I'm sure you had a lot of fun getting ready for the wedding. It feels good to get dressed up once in awhile. Your dress was lovely!
You are a gorgeous, and very elegant, woman! I just loved your hair, makeup and dress! Isn't it fun getting ready for a big event like this? I just love doing all the small extra things when a special event is coming up.🥰❤
Thank you, Kerry-Lou, for another humor filled presentation! I love floral patterns at weddings and the hair up is so elegant. I also like the makeup line you are using (Ilia). It is gorgeous!
Kerry-Lou , You look very glamorous ! Come to think of it , you always look lovely ! I hope your trip to Houston, and the wedding were fun. Stay well ! Hope your baby granddaughter has brought you and your husband , many smiles 🥰🥰
Great video! I loved all.of the tips, and especially your easy yet elegant updo! One thing I would emphasize is - physical fitness and exercise should be for everyday NOT just to prep for special occasions. Weight bearing exercise is essential as we age, beneficial in so many ways.
Thank you for your advise on the hair piece I had one in my draw but I’d never used it properly now copy your simple up do looks so natural love it thank you
Great point! We are bombarded with steps to do BEFORE makeup. I use a my serum and a moisturizer with SPF and eye cream. No primer. I suppose for those with oily skin, or skin that has an uneven texture, the primer helps the makeup go on longer and last longer. It's good to try sample sizes to see if it makes a difference for you, (Sephora gives small samples if you ask in the store ;-)
I LOVE Jergen’s Glow! I have used it for years. The color is subtle but definitely there and my skin loves it’s moisturizing effect. I use the formula for my face all year long.
I rarely watch an entire video but I could not stop watching this. It gave me hope, not just hope, but advice that I think I can really use. I guess it takes identifying with the person doing the video and I can identify with you.
Thanks for the tips on getting a trim about a week before the event. I’m going to my class reunion in a couple weeks and was wondering when I should do that. Thanks for sharing. You look beautiful. That dress is amazing. Congratulations to the beautiful couple
What a great video. You have such a soothing voice and friendly, helpful nature that you're a joy to watch. I have 2 important weddings coming up and am having the hardest time finding the right gowns. I love the fit and cut of your gown but I need solid colors (black, burgundy, or navy). I think I'll take a page from your book and get some sparkly flat sandals. As my gowns will be long no-one will really see my feet and a happy, comfortable lady is always more attractive that one suffering in uncomfortable shoes or worse yet dancing barefoot because she couldn't stand her heels another minute. I love your hair and makeup tips and appreciate all the work it takes to make these videos.
Thank you Kerry-Lou this was very helpful to me. The tips about the dress, the hair and the make-up. Really something I can use. Love and greetings all the way from Denmark. :-)
Anytime i go out I automatically think oh no what will my hair look like.! You look so gorgeous in those colours,my type of colours. Thanks for sharing your grwm
OMG... thank you so much for all your tips. I do not like high heels, but after seeing your video I am going to get myself some nice pretty dressing sandals as well. I love dancing!!!
Very enjoyable. Your hair is lovely and the scrunchie was really nice. I loved your nails! The entire ensemble was fabulous. I'm surprised that you didn't wear a necklace. I have grown out my grey hair and grown the length to be able to pull it back into a small ponytail, but in photos , it is rather aging. I might cut it in the fall. Advice on managing the jowls with hair and makeup might be helpful. But nothing short of cosmetic surgery will help me...haha.
Glad you liked this Louise! Thanks for your comments, regarding the pony tail, I will do a simple video on how to "elevate" the ponytail, and make it softer. ;-D
I'm a recent new fan - binge watching your videos! I wish I'd found the 'getting ready for a special event' before my hands fasting ceremony three years ago - I sort of threw some make up on my face, took my hair down out of it's scrunchie and put my dress on - got married in my Converse because I had to run through the woods to get there in time! I love this and will absolutely be practising so the next time I have an event, I can leave myself longer than 20 minutes! Love what you do Kerry-Lou!
Absolutely gorgeous Ms Kerry-Lou! I have shoulder length, thick, wavy, coarse, unruly hair. I have found over the years that it's better for me to wash and blow dry it the evening before the 'main event'. A lot less stress on event day and just a five minute once over with the hair dryer and styling brush. Love your videos - keep 'em coming x
This was great,! I especially loved the way you did your hair with the scrunchie. Honestly...I have one if those but never ever use it. Now, I see how I could like you did with the ponytail. Thank You for sharing and showing that tip.
Hi, Kerry Lou. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this video! I'm not going to any special events in the near future that I know of, but it's so nice to have this to refer to if needed! Thank you for all the tips! Thank you for helping ordinary women feel that they can look more beautiful and glamorous at any age, but especially after 50(ish) and beyond. You look amazing! Your skin looks amazing! Your dress, makeup, hair, and shoes are wonderful and beautiful!
This is my first time watching your video and I must say that I really enjoyed it! The tips for your hair and make-up were on point. The ideas for formal shoes, dresses, accessories and clothing were phenomenal. I am a cool toned gal as well! These colors are awesome for my hair and skin tones.
WOW! You look terrific! I want to try the silicone patches! AND. I bought a salt & pepper pony/bun/scrunchie (you see I don't even know what to call it!!!) BUT I really don't know how to use it. So thanks for the part of the video where you put the scrunchie on and incorporated it into your final 'do! I can do that!!!
Thank you thank you thank you! I have wondered about this peach fuzz. I look at some make up video and see hairless faces and wondered if they were just naturally like that or the fuzz was age related. I have asked and no one answered. Thank you again for such a true and honest insight
Beautiful Lady! I loved the video, so down to earth and relaxed. Your dress is gorgeous. I'm 76 and and the heels are now out for me. Went to a wedding just before the pandemic and wore flats for the very first time in my life. I am now buying more flat shoes to wear to an event or meeting or wherever. After all comfy is the now of the game as we age.
Thanks so much Maureen! They do make some glam flats nowadays also! Plus a person that is comfy and having fun is more attractive in my opinion! All the best to you x
I loved watching you do your makeup and hair. I’m trying really hard to grow my hair out. I really thought all your hair was up in the bun. I may try that myself. Not for anything special. But so I don’t go tomorrow and get my hair cut. I normally wear my hair short. And if it doesn’t start behaving better, I’ll be getting it cut again soon. My hair doesn’t seem to grow longer, it just seems to grow outward. I’m trying to tame it with barrettes and bobby-pins. But you looked wonderful at the end. Loved your dress.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked this video Pam! It is good to have a few hairstyles that you can whip up in a hair emergency lol! Sometimes it is just time for a haircut, and you may just want to switch up the products. Often it's just having one of those days!
What a gorgeous dress! Your choice of makeup went beautifully with it, too. Thank you for all of your suggestions for preparing for the special event. I will definitely try a few of your suggestions. Stay Blessed and Beautiful. Love, Your Texas Sister 👄🥰😘
I’m glad you found this helpful! I LOVE the dress, I only hope I can find something I love as much for the next event! I’ll check this brand again though 😉 💕
Hi, I love your channel. I've spent the last two weeks doing a deep dive into all you great 50+ beauty channels, trying EVERYTHING under the sun. No matter how moisturized, serumed, prepped, blended, etc., everything I try still looks cakey and worse than NO MAKEUP! I've been trying every drugstore product under the sun: Loreal and Covergirl/Olay foundations, Milani bronzers and blushes, Pixie peach (and Tarte) color correction, elf, hydrating, Maybelline FiT, No7, and several other concealers, with and without primer, using new Real Techniques brushes, etc... I have under-eye circles, crepey lids, vertical lip lines, and visible pores. I'm following all the guidelines and still it looks terrible! I'm doing all of this to prepare for my son's wedding (remote area, so no professional help), and I'm at a loss. What else to try???
Wow... Kerry Lou...you look drop dead gorgeous 💞💞 beautiful dress and I love your shoes...I so agree with the flats ...I myself nowadays love flats as you can move and dance 😍 so nice to see you after very long ... And yes SMILE is the best accessory 😊😊 Take care dear....
Hi Smita! In July I had been traveling, and seeing family, gosh, it went by so fast! I will be taking off from time to time, I have to get to the UK to see my mum. I missed chatting with you and my other viewers! All the best to you love!
Lovely Kerry-Lou! Big fan of your finished makeup, dress, wiglet 😍, shoes, Jurgens and of course, that shaving vid 🤣. So special to be able to catch up with family after so long xx 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching all this time, I think you were one of my first subscribers Jen! I really appreciate your support, thanks!
I have something big coming up in a few months and I will definitely keep rewatching this video so that I can apply your beauty and makeup tips for my big day! Thank you
WoW! You look absolutely amazing. I have the same type of hair as you, mine never looks as glamorous as yours. Thank you for sharing, I will definitely try your updo and your beautiful eye colours x
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. The curly hair is definitely a learning journey! it can be tricky, trying to find the right products for your hair, and just when you think you found the right one... The weather changes and so does your hair! despite all that, I think I will keep it curly for a while though, and play around with some different hairstyles 😁
I am useless with makeup. My stepson is getting married in 2 weeks. After 9 months of learning, buying and trying, there is no beautiful transformation after I put makeup on. The whole process is an exercise in frustration and despair. But you, my dear, are absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the videos 🙂
Thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoy listening, learning and watching your videos. I just hit subscribe! :) You are so beautiful and classy. I'm not sure of your age, but you look great! I am 55 and you are giving me some great tips. I haven't embraced all my grays just yet, but your videos definitely make me reconsider ; maybe one day. I have more non gray than I do grays, but I know that will change as I age. You really do give me hope and make life look fun at 60+ Thank you Kerry Lou for sharing with us all your great tips. You looked fabulous at that wedding too!
Love the total look. I have always fixed my own hair and most likely my mother’s also because I’m a former hairstylist. My hair is not easy to work with but thankfully my mother’s was. I did all this for my wedding 51 years ago, and my children’s weddings. Don’t ask me why. Maybe it’s because the only time I ever have my hair styled is when I need a full haircut. Now, I’m 70 years old and as I think back in time, the last time I had my hair done professionally was in 1968 for my senior class pictures. I’ve never had my makeup done professionally either for any event and I probably should have. I simply never thought about it. With that said, I would encourage everyone to have facials, hair, makeup, nails, and pedicures all done professionally. It’s all part of the fun. Well done for a completely finished and glamorous look. I’m sure your husband was not all that upset to be standing by his gorgeous wife.
You look stunning! I have a wedding in October so I really appreciate this video. I do stress over my makeup when getting ready for an even. Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the tips. My name is Kerry. I am planning for my son’s wedding in November. I took a huge chance and bought an expensive dress online. Never tried on. I fell in love with it instantly. It was not the color but it was the color pallet. And I am a plane Jane but this has glitter. Sometimes you have to step out of the box when your heart knows it’s right. Thank you for your encouraging words. I have shaved off my peach fuzz too for years. Moisturizing face masks do help with makeup. I enjoyed the entire video.
Hi Kerry, so glad you found this useful! I love that you went with your heart when you chose this dress - I experience that "flutter" when I know I've chosen the right dress! Have a wonderful time! xx
Love all your videos and tips for us silver haired girls! I noticed in this video that you used an apricot blush with a fuscia lip and it looked fantastic! Learned something new!
Thanks Kim, the strange thing is, that blush is called Apricot, but I definitely wouldn't have called it that - it's more of a vivid neutral pink! However sometimes a peachy colour can be worn with a fuschia lip, at the moment, we are seeing a lot of fuschia/orange mixes! All the best to you!
I believe this is beautiful product...You used a lot of products, but you were lite handed in applying...at the end your face look smooth and every product enhanced each area of the face beautifully...Love watching all your tutorial, aways learn a new tip...Going to search where can find Ilia products in Florida. Thank you...
You look so stunning! Very beautiful! I love your videos. Thank you for making them. I'm a bit sad about getting older, and if I try to talk about it, I'm being "shushed" by my friends. I wish we could talk about it, about the changes both in body and soul. But thanks to videos like this, I find both comfort and inspiration. Thank you. Kristin.
You are so welcome, and thanks for watching, I'm glad this can help. Some platforms are all about talking about everything aging - I like Instagram, because there are so many older women on there talking about their aging experiences. We have to acknowledge and talk about the changes that happen in each stage of life. Aging is not what most people expect, everyone is in for some surprises - and not ALL bad ones. Follow me on Instagram at @silverstylestudio and I'll follow you back!
I’m in the same shoes as you are. Like my deceased husband used to joke, “old age isn’t for sissies”. He’s right! Just let us be thankful that we’re still here, looking at all of our smile lines and spoiling our grandkids‼️
Thanks so much! 😊 I loved the whole process, and it was so great to see everyone in one place celebrating this lovely young couple! All the best to you! xx
When all this Covid stuff is over, I'm coming over so you do my makeup. Your style is exactly me; I wish I could do it, just need to learn from you hands-on.
Thank you for this video. I am a soon to be Mother of the Bride. Do you have a suggestion for a more coverage foundation? I have Melasma and need to cover it. I am scheduled for micro needling to hopefully help lighten it some. At my other daughters wedding I didn’t feel pretty because I was over weight and had let my hair go too long without a though up. This time I’ve lost weight and just want to feel pretty too in the pictures with my baby girl.
One of my favorites full-coverage foundations is Estee Lauder's Double Wear Maximum Cover. They do have a couple of versions of it, one has a lighter coverage, but both full coverage. Many of my makeup artists friends have this in their pro-makeup kits ;-) It's a good idea to go to the counter and test what color is best for you. I have found that Estee Lauder is very good about putting a small amount in a container (sample) for you to try. Lot's of luck to you, I know you will look fab for this wedding!!
You are a classic beauty. Your soft spoken voice is appealing. I enjoy listening to your tips and suggestions. Most of all I am always eager to see what your next feature will be. Thank you...Linda, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Kerry Lou you are just naturally beautiful at any age. I love watching your videos especially this one with all the tips you give. Thank you
Yes, this is a good one to watch Teresa! xx
You look stunning beautiful! And your soul lightens your beauty even more up!❤
Thank you so much 🤗
You look beautiful. Thanks for sharing all the tips.
Thank you! You are so welcome!
You look amazing as always, and the dress is stunning! 🥰
Thank you so much!!
Love love love your video and your channel. Thank you for sharing your tips & hello from Fargo ND
Thanks for watching! All the best!
You look absolutely gorgeous, love the scrunchy idea!❤️
Thanks you so much! Isn’t it great? Only $8 😁
Thanks for this. It was good! You have the most amazing smile, BTW!
Thanks so much, glad you liked this!
Thanks so much for your sweet comment Vicki! xx
You are such an inspiration!! You look stunning!! Gave me some ideas for my next event- especially the hair trick. Thank you 😊
You are so welcome, glad you liked this!
You look stunning! I have a wedding in October so I really appreciate this video. I do stress over my makeup when getting ready for an even. Thanks for the tips!
Glad you liked this Lesli, and you have LOTS of time to plan, how nice! x
Have a wonderful time! xx
You look fabulous. I love that dress.
Thank you so much!
So beautiful!
Awesome advice! Got my niece’s wedding in Oct in SC. Trying to figure out what to wear.
Glad it was helpful - have a great time at the wedding! x
I love the whole look, I’ve noticed that you’ve used quite a bit of eyeshadows but the end result is beautiful
Thank you so much! I often do just one simple sweep of eyeshadow, but this is fun for a more important occasion, and photographs well. 😊
Very pretty & elegant.
Thank you! 😊
You look absolutely gorgeous!!
Thank you 😊
You have such beautiful skin! Thank you for the video.

Absolutely gorgeous! 🙌🏻💕
When all this Covid stuff is over, I'm coming over so you do my makeup.
Your style is exactly me; I wish I could do it, just need to learn from you hands-on.
That would be wonderful!
Me too!!! Wouldn’t that be great to get makeup done by a smart, bubbly professional???
thank you so much for the tips absolutely inspiring from such a lovely lady
You look beautiful and I love the dress!
Thank you so much!
Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Love, love your hair. ❤️
Thanks so much Millie!
Could you tell us more about the dress? Where did you purchase it? What is the brand name? Thanks so much! I love your videos and do buy the products!
I just put it n the description, thank you!
I love the dress! Who is the designer?
