This is a great card and it's often a card that I recommend in lieu of his rookie card. His '52 Topps rookie card is a short print, is rarely centered, and often beyond a collector's budget. And I think it's interesting that he's in a Boston cap. About half the Braves are in Boston caps in this set. The cards with "Milwaukee" caps aren't very convincing. They look more like upside-down 'W's than the 'M' that they eventually adopted.
Eddie Mathews is definitely one of the all-time great third basemen. And a perfect compliment to Hank Aaron in the Braves lineup during their run in the late 50s and early 60s. The '53 Topps is a great card to have. It's certainly one of my favorite cards in my collection.

Yes definitely, meanwhile Bowman just went with the Boston caps and left it alone. Changed the city on the backs.
Its also the last card in the entire 1952 Topps set at #407 too.
