Just changed my cabin air filter..... The engineer at Nissan who designed the location, NEEDS TO BE SHOT....... Caution there a lot of sharp edges under there. Also you need to be a contortionist to do the filter replacement.
Good video! Make sure the filter is flush with the vertical edge before you close the filter door. Also, if you are a little older or have back issues, it is very easy to take the glove box out (2 Phillips screws on the bottom and 3 or 4 at the top) which is very easy and gives you more room for access. That helped me out and saved me $65.00 to 70 bucks instead of the dealer installing the filter. Easy! Thank you for posting your video!

I have a 2018 Rouge. I found, after 3 or 4 attempts to install the new filter, on the bottom of the filter compartment, mind has an open slot. I put the filter in bottom first on my 5th attempt, then the top and worked the bottom of the filter with my hand on the bottom slot to slide the filter over. Pushing the top when I needed to catch the top up with the bottom. It went right in perfect after that. If that makes sense. Double check the arrows too, towards the inside of the car. Take an old towel or something for your knees too. : ) I took the glove box out. There is a video on that and it helps to see what you are doing. Just my experience with it. Just saved a bunch of money. Next time will be a lot easier! Have a good day and thank you again for posting the video! D

Great video, simple and to the point. Yes, you could take out the glove box but this process works and is quicker.

Thanks so much. I bought mine used and just paid $200 to have my air filters changed. That wont happen again after this video!! I used to change my air filters in my Toyota but I thought it would be more difficult on the new one.

Just bought a 2018 with the mildew smell. Going to change it tomorrow and bring the old filter back to the dealership and ask if the mildew comes standard or if i paid extra for it.
Tell me about it! My 2019 had all dirty fluids and a oil change sticker claiming they changed it.They didn't, everything was dirty air filter,, transmission fluid,etc... I'm about to test the brake fluid when I get the tester.
Thanks for the reminder installing the filter. This is worse design for the cabin filter I have had to deal with. Second filter change I have done on my '19 Rogue. Filter was same thickness & I did not sweat a lot reinstalling the new filter. This 3rd change I
purchased this Charcoal type. The ends are a little thicker as are the individual panels. I had the
hardest time re-installing this charcoal filter. I just hope it did straighten up after pushing it in
so hard. Won't buy the charcoal again. I think you need these thinner brands.

Thanks! I did my Mazda CX5-absolute breeze - drop the glove box & slide it out. Leave it to Nissan to make you scrunch yourself on the floor and mess with screws. Still cheaper then have the dealer do it.
The 21 and newer Rogue has it in same place as the Mazda: back behind the opened glove box.

You know this actually isn’t that bad, it looks a lot worse than it actually is. In my case, I bought my car used in the screws on the cover aren’t there anymore….Don’t know if that will cause problems or not but I will say it definitely made the job easier. Lol 😂
Oh, and now that I know about the glove box… I’d consider removing it next time. (I’ll be 76 in 2-1/2 months)

Worst design ever in this Rogue. My RAV4 filter used to slide right in. This doesn’t sit right no matter what I do. Makes hissing noise with ac on high and doesn’t blow as hard. Guess I need to bring it in

In my experience Toyota, Mazda, Lexus has a better design than Nissan. It's PITA to install.
