I was one of those who complained about the new look. But after owning these since release, they have grown on me considerably. The are more comfortable than the M3’s and easier to wear over long periods. While they all are plastic they don’t feel as light and cheap as the Sony XM5’s. Overall, I’m more than pleased and use these everyday.
How about the software experience? Do you use it?
The headband is metal in the center.

Great review. Very engaging. Keep 'em coming...
Thank you so much! Sure!
Update. Ordered both. Liked the sound of the B&W PS7 Se2 way better. Surprised me as I’m a long time Sennheiser user.
Great review, as always! I recently got the Momentum 4 and I agree with everything you said. Awesome sound, nice feature set, a bit bland design but still good build quality, great value. And I had a really hard time deciding between these and the PX7 S2 which to my ears had a little more relaxed mids but less accurate bass which could bloat into the mids. I'm really looking forward to your comparison!
Great review. Like the history background of Sennheiser which I haven’t seen on other channels. Sennheiser knows what they’re doing.
Glad it was helpful!
I enjoy the way you review these headphones. Down to earth, calm and with a positive mind. Sometimes I feel that other reviewers focus too much on the specs of consumer products but you hit the sweet spot where things are kept relevant.
I ordered these headphones recently and can´t wait to receive them ! (I am still rocking the Momentum 1 on-ears with cable)
Thank you so much. Your comment is encouraging. Enjoy the M4 when it arrives and share your impressions here with the community :)
@@CarefulOptimist You are very welcome :)
I got mine in the grey version and it looks stylish.
Like my old Momentum on-ears the M4's the sound volume seems to be on the low side. Thats easily fixed by turning up the volume on my phone, so not a big deal.
I love the way that the bass is punchy, and the way a bassguitar beautifully compliments a kickdrum on the low end. Nice and punchy. Just the way I like it.
Great amounts of detail all-around even when streaming from Spotify.
Setting up the headphones in the Sennheiser app was easy.
I my experience it was faster to manually adjust the sound profile rather than by the built-in software tool.
The noise cancellation is good.
My car broke down so I've had plenty of opportunities to test these on the bus which I recon is the perfect setting for a test. Lots of engine noise and passengers having conversations all around me :)
I find that the ANC in this environment is ok, but on it's own the ANC seems a little underwhelming. However with music playing it's easy to overpower the outside noise.
Having only tested call quality a couple of times in windy areas I can't go into much detail on this. Wind noise may be audible for the person on the receiving end of the call, but noone has indicated that they had a hard time hearing me speak at any point.
Comfort is amazing. I wear glasses and not once has the fit caused any trouble what so ever. A huge upgrade for me.
The traveling case leaves nothing to be desired. High quality in my honest opinion.
Wearing the headphones as an accessory around my neck is probably never going to be a thing, as the headband doesn't extend far enough for my needs.
To me it's not a problem because I bring the case with me at all times, so it's easy to just put them away when I wont be needing them.
I highly recommend these because they fit with most genres of music.
The comfort is top tier for me.
They look great and they certainly make a good impression.
The battery life is crazy.
Not once has the bluetooth pairing failed me with these. I get them out of the case, put them on my ears and they work right away.
can't decide between these and B&W px7 s2, waiting for your comparison! Design difference is obvious but I'm interested in sound difference and what genres each is better at.
Great review as usual ! I sold my Px8 007 Edition for the Momentum 4. I feel like we have so much more for our money with the Sennys! The Px8 might be more luxurious and better build, but I found the sound on the Momentums more enjoyable with all genres of music. They are more "fun", and to my tastes, the Px8 are too conservative… Thanks !
I tried both and returned the px7 . I was impressed with the momentum 4.
I found this an informative presentation without boring me to death.. I will buy the Sennheiser over the Sony as the sound quality is what l really care about, over anything else.. I also liked the laid back style of the host, a very cool dude!
Thank you!
Your welcome 👍
Went back and watched this once again. As always you're one of my favorites when it comes to headphones reviews.
I just sold my PX7 S2 for the Momentum 4. Good listening experience, but the overall experience is not that great (when you balance what you pay for it) with the B&W. Poor connection stability, multipoint is not well tuned, and the ANC is just "average".
Plus, no passive listening on the PX7 S2 was just a deal breaker for me.
The Momentum 4 seems to be just a better all around do-it-all pair of headphones, especially considering the price point.
You do by far the best reviews. Good job
Thaanks a lot. In sound, momentum 4 better than px7 s2?
SENNHEISER MOMENTUM 4 are my goto headphones ,great review. i miss the option to disable anc with heavy wind and adaptive anc the momentums 4 are struggling the only option is to turn of adaptive anc to linear and put the slider in the middle in the app... not a great solutuion but since i just use the indoors its not a deals braker for me.
Very informative and on point , your reviews are the best ✊ .Love what you do
What a clear cut video. Why does this channel have only 3k subs???? Subscribed!
Hahaha. Thank you. We are working on it. But most importantly is quality over quantity:)
Would you choose these over the eah-a800 if you could get them for the same price? I usually buy stuff second hand, and since you're in Germany, I suppose you get why. There's a ton of used gear going for at least 40% less than new. I find that crazy to be honest. That said, I usually got my Sennheisers new. I am actually appaled by the lack of quality control when it comes to their in ear monitors. My TW4 gave away after 3 months. Previous examples (different models) never lasted for more than I year. That's why I'm kind of scared to get the Sennheiser's used :/ But I love their sound profile and music rendering especially compared to the px7 se. I've realized that maybe I don't need the ANC, which is why I'm drawn towards the Technics. But this also adds now the ath-m50xbt2 to my list 🤣 One "obsolete cans I don't see compared in these videos to the newer headphones are the Dali io-6 or io-4. But I've read more than one forum post praising their sound quality (but criticizing build quality, fit, user experience, etc.).
So tough to choose 😂
Keep on rocking my guy!
Hmm, I am not sure to be honest. I will go for the M4 for the build and simplistic quality.
Superb review. You are a true professional.
Oh thank you!
Some of your video really made me feel like watching a commercial for Sennheiser Products with fashion models. You have an amazing look and great set of clothes...
I am thinking of buying the Momentum 4 to upgrade from WH-1000XM4...I am still on the fence though :-)
Bought it, so far i am loving it !
How are they compared to xm4?
@@robbenvanpersie1562 i like them because they also work with usb audio contrarie to the Whxm4 and they sound very good too.
But it s user préférence...the xm4 are also foldable
They are both very nice
I
Great review! I would like someone to compare the Momentum 4 to the PX7 S2e. Everyone seems to forget to review this one.
Can you make that happen?
Love your reviews. Really good vibe for listening and watching.
Yes, we are looking to make that.
This was a well crafted video .. more subscribers on your way I’m sure as other comments say! Also liked your roll top bag - could you share which one it is?
Yeah - u deserve 1m subs ez. GREAT review.
Thank you!
Great, informative video which is well presented. I just wish you wouldn’t stand so close to the edge of the platform. Subscribed.
Hahaha. I will think about that next time, Steve. Thank you for your concern. I appreciate.
Hi bro, how is your Px8 holding up after all this time? A lot of people end up having an issue with the headband after a few months.
I have been careful with using them until I sold it 2 months ago.
Great review. I am buying a pair. Thanks.
You are welcome! Hope you are enjoying it, if you already have it.
The only thing I don’t like and it is not mentioned is the auto stop which is from one sensor on the right ear which I think gets moist or something because of the earbud and it does crazy things on its own by pausing the music or not working when removing the headphone after using it for some time. The only problem !!
Such a fine review to listen to. I truly appreciate your pace and the way you approach the info stuff. When your comparison between this Momentum 4 and the PX7 S2 [ that I like soooo much!]?
It’s dropping today!
Amazing review as always! 🙌
I know that you mainly focus on portable headphones for “on the go” but I would just _love_ you to review the new Focal Bathys, I’m really missing your kind of take on them.
yeah great sound headphonenes but quality is bad my sennheiser momentum 4 going broken no sound and return them and i get new ones sane and using 2 weeks that going broken too and not connect bluetooth
Hi, don't you think it s not just a software issue?
We are waiting for the comparation video
It’s on the way 🙂
although sound quality is fantastic for the price,, the corners are cut in overall ANC experience and a bit in cup cushion material that touches to ears. not as comfortable as xm5. as soon as anc is bumped up, the fan wind hitting the cups can be heard. and ears get tired sooner than xm5 of cushions. there is wind noise reduction feature that's a gimmick. turning on wind noise reduction simply cancels out anc in other words it turns on transparency.
Actually, these headphones are rated at 60 hours usage. Also, and more recently, the EQ has been upgraded from 3-Band to 5-Band. The sub bass extension is palpable!
Got them as an upgrade to my PXC 550-II, really like the new upgrades here (USB-C, battery, better ANC which was not priority, etc). I really like the Sennheiser sound signature, as already have been using HD600, HD58x and Game One wired along with CX True Plus true wireless, and these bring really good sound and wider sound stage, compared to PXC 550-II, which have more natural/neutral sound and which I appreciated. Eventually I am liking these M4 Wireless for the price, ended up EQing with bass -2.0db, mids +1db and treble +2db.
I'm considering upgrading to these from my PXC-II too but I confess that the tactility and convenience of being able to turn on and off with the right ear cup on the PXC-II is something I'm hesitant to give up. Have you found that the Momentum 4 was easy to transition into though?
@@bradle4162 M4 are good, as per your convenience, M4 has about 60 hours and auto-off after 15 mins.
i wonder if you would review the kef mu7. big on design.
Can you tell me how the noise cancellation is on the mics on these headphones? One big issue I have with the Bose QC35s is while the noise cancellation for the person wearing them is great, it picks up every little sound and it sounds noisy for the person I'm in a call with. This is an important feature for me.
On that side sony xm5 is the best for talking in noisy locations.
Bowers and Wilkins px7 s2 vs bang and Olufsen hx
Do these momentum 4's stay put on your head if you look down or bend down to pick up something❓
Yes I see you jumping in the video and I see they didn't fly off 😁
Hahaha. Indeed they have a good grip. Also thanks to the deep ear cups. So it claps your ears nicely. But again, it depends of the size of head. In that regard, you just have to test it at a retail store before buying.
Are the earpads warm up after 60 minutes of listening to the music?
You should do audiobooks. If you're not, you're missing a trick.
It's the best headphones in this price range ... everything else like the XM5 is all hype created by wannabe youtubers.
