Hey brother first off I wanna thank you for taking the time to do your video and please don’t take this the wrong way but I want to just give a couple corrections. I know sometimes in these videos because they’re overdubbing and they’re playing over something they already recorded, he’s actually going F#m7, E/G#, A.. That’s also the same progression on the bridge.. And what’s your hearing when the electric guitar player is moving up the front board playing the higher versions he’s actually playing F#m7, Emaj9/G#, Asus2..the musical Interlude parts between chorus one and verse two. The chords are Am9, Am7, Am6.. this is a typical progression in jazz music.. Also the part coming out of the bridge before they go to Chorus three, all he is doing there is just diminished seventh chords.. He starts on an F#dim7, Adim7, Cdim7, back to Adim7.. This is also very typical in jazz music.. And the only other thing is on the last line of the chorus I know most people call it
A2/F#, But that really isn’t the name of that chord it’s actually an F#m11.. And I’m just calling the chords this.. I know the guitar is tuned flat so act like it’s not tuned flat that’s why I’m calling it what I am.. and then on the chorus where they add chords , this is another typical jazz progression it normally goes D#m7b5, G#7#5, C#maj9 to Bm7.. Now You could just do
G#7, C#m7 And nobody would know the difference but I just thought I would share this with you..I have a degree in music from Berkeley and also there is a video of the piano player teaching it and he’s a monster player. I hope you don’t get offended by me saying this but we all are constantly learning about music and I just wanted to share these things with you.
Here’s a copy of the link of the piano player in for the record when he’s talking about the pre-chorus and he says 2, 3, 4,5, He’s basically referring to the bass notes.. Because if you look what he’s playing on the piano he’s playing E/G#
Another thing that you’ll hear him do which I also do when I play the song is instead of playing a typical A chord Or even an Asus2..I’ll do what he’s doing and play an Amaj7 Or even an Amaj9 to give it more color.. there’s also a video I’m going to attach of the guitar player showing you how he plays it on acoustic and you’ll see during the pre-chorus he’s using a major chord and not a minor chord..Anyways once again I hope you don’t get offended.. we are all learning every day. God bless you and keep on playing.

What would be the best advice for an absolute beginner noob to learn this song? To rogress from other songs to this one (if so, which songs would you recommend?) Or just jump in and give it a try?
