This is just the thing that I could use to keep my tangerines outside during the winter. Some visqueen in a frame with a grow light mounted to the top and a little heater would be just the thing.

These are great, I had a heater and heat lamp set up for my well house. Unfortunately Navopache power company let us wait for almost a week for power with 19 below zero and all the pipes and fixtures froze and blew up. Facing a bill over $3000 I called my insurance and the adjuster that came out said "it's a good thing you had these freeze protections on your pipes or the insurance would not cover this" even though we had no power they covered the entire bill. Just having the protection saved me a lot. Cheap insurance for insurance.

I maintain one of those heaters as well as a freez tape for my waterline on a temperature controlled device as well as they've been around for yeara. However, after receiving a $171 electric bill for the month of December, which has actually a tad warmer than usual, I am rethinking the whole thing. Over the course of the winter season, the electric cost I expect to be around $500 conservatively. For that, I could buy all my produce and come out ahead.

Are you using a grow light What happens when you get a snow load on that plastic over the palm as the heater will get wet . Even from moisture from the plastic dripping . I am wanting to build a texas prepper greenhouse that I saw on youtube with a cattle panel . I found if you put cow manure down in the cattle panel greenhouse before winter the manure breaks down and gives off heat . I use cow manure on my garden in spring to give plants and early start . I just put in pvc pipe to make a small hoop house , But want bigger now
