A classic song for all Viet-Nam Veterans, most of them break in tears when their hear that song, others just want to get drunk to forget the shadows of the past that haunt them since their first tour of duty, but all of them will never forget that song which has become a synonym of war and destruction. @@DianeJennings I'd recommend for the best experience with the Stones, listen to these entire albums all in a row: "Beggar's Banquet," "Let it Bleed," "Sticky Fingers," and "Exile on Main St." They are four of the greatest rock albums ever created, and they were all released, one after another. "Let it Bleed" is a personal favorite, and I think the best Stones album, but that's definitely arguable. The kind of rock music made in the mid-60's to late-70's was really meant to be listened to as an entire album. Of course, singles were released in that time as they were before then, but this really was the era of "Album-Oriented Rock," or "AOR," where the experience of taking in music was much more holistic.

Paint It Black is my favorite Rolling Stones song.
First time I heard Paint It Black the song, it was used as the intro to the tv show Tour Of Duty. In the shows into.. one of the soldiers pulled back the charging handle to his M16, then the drums to the song started and it was go time.

Paint It Black has been used in numerous movies, TV shows and video games. Recently, you may have heard it in the series Wednesday, where Wednesday Addams plays it on a cello. The Stones have a huge catalog of songs, and you've likely heard several without paying much attention to them over the years. A particular favorite of mine is Gimme Shelter, that includes possibly the greatest performance ever by a backup singer. Merry Clayton put everything into her singing and positively steals the show from Mick Jagger. I was able to see the Rolling Stones play live twice during their most recent US tour, In Las Vegas on November 6th, 2021 and then in Detroit on November 15th, 2021. They still put on a great show.

The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil (Official Lyric Video) Want to know a secret?? Shh . Come closer .. The Rolling Stones is the best country/blues band ever. The way it is tuned and setup on the instruments. They could turn up the volume but knew where their bread was buttered. In Sympathy For the Devil is one of the best guitar solos ever and so much restrain you'd never know. Sometimes the best of a song is where you have that moment of silence. A rest .. The depth of this is amazing. Love ya and thanks for your inviting us on your trip ..

I was a little taken aback to see Diane merrily bopping along to a song about the rage and pain of loss! It never would have occurred to me to describe "Paint It Black" as _happy_ or _cheerful_ - the song's energy always felt more _angry_ (or at the very least _driven)_ to me.
Anyway. After watching this reaction, I think Diane would also enjoy Led Zeppelin's "The Lemon Song." Not even to react to, necessarily - I just think she might enjoy listening to it.
