A very slick video Nick. Great filming and graphics with just the right amount of detail for me. After tinkering with my swing for years and lacking the consistency I seek Stack and Tilt has given me a feeling of confidence and reproducibility that results in me enjoying my golf much more.
I've self-taught myself using the old S&T DVD set, and it did AMAZING things for my consistency (down to a 4.1 hdcp). But then life forced a number of years off, and I'm back to golf again. Without a doubt, I was returning to S&T, but something wasn't quite right... It seemed like I was forcing my swing. These two drills were a godsend, as everything fell back into place and I wasn't "thinking" about everything. Weight loading and continuing left happened naturally again with the head remaining steady, and the tilt naturally followed. Thank you for eliminating me from my too many swing thoughts!
Awesome video. Working with a PGA pro on Stack and Tilt. The shoulder turn for me is always problematic on the back swing. This really helps! Thanks Nick.
Just letting you know that I gained at least 15 yards through your stack & tilt instruction. I struggled with my longer clubs to maintain shoulder turns, but I was able to replicate and rotate my body both in my backswings and follow-throughs smoothly, thanks to your method!!!! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!
Went to the practice range today and gave it a try . It took me 5 swings to hit a ball with out a huge hook . But I needed to lean to the left more and I started to smash the ball with good results and soon I was hitting with power . I hit 150 balls and was very happy with the results. Thank You 🙏 Nick !
Nick -- Great video lesson. I have always moved to get my lead shoulder over my back foot. Your drill for the backswing showing the tilt forward was eye-opening for me. I had the wrong backswing thought all along. Thanks so much! I just started taking S&T lessons at my local GT location. Your videos are helping me supplement my lessons. Keep up the great work!
fascinating stuff, im starting the journey to stack and tilt so these vids are invaluable, interesting re the rounded back, virtually every great golfer up to say the mid 90's or so and collectively won gazillions of majors played with a rounded upper back ! perhaps they knew something !!
Been trying this since the courses and some driving ranges opened again in uk since lockdown. What a difference! Contact much more solid and shots so more consistent.Im hitting drives not far off 300 yards now with a very old cobra driver ,and irons travelling much further that I will have to redo my distances at the range! I’m 52 and looks like I going to be shooting my best ever scores throughout the summer in my twilight years! .The more I point the left shoulder down on the back swing the more solid contact I get. Thanks for this,Nick.
Right, Stack and Tilters...We all concur that S&T is the shit and that NT is the shit...Buuuuuut....Stack & Tilt is a rebel golf system mate, so I think we can all also agree it’s time to switch up that Vid Music to something a little something more, well, Rock n Roll / British Punk / Rebelous yeah? 🍻 Cheers Nick Love Your Stuff. This could be what i'm looking for to help my son who finds golf just too tough, though defininetely going to try myself next time i get a chance to go to range.I play off 6 h/cap but short hitter and 100% conventional player.
When I videoed my swing using S&T, I noticed my head drops in the backswing. I know it’s obvious now but you don’t mention it in this Lesson. The head moving downward (not sideways) when I tilt in my backswing is one of my biggest faults. Loving the way you present S&T.
Great video, thanks Nick!!! It's tricky hitting the ball first and having the divot come after the ball, will have to work on that. I see there is a different finish position than most people use. I think it helps put your weight in the heel of your left foot at the end of your swing which I was having trouble with.
Lovely tutorials here Nick. Been playing for nearly 3 years now and am opening my mind to the Stack and Tilt system. What clubs are you using? Mizuno MP4s X stiff? By any chance? Same clubs as me...They're lovely blades but damn hard to hit!
Keeping weight on my lead foot has really helped me make more consistent ball contact. A bit tough with driver still for me... but I’m hoping it comes soon
I am new to S&T. Very interested. I have watched "LEARN STACK & TILT (PART 1)" and this "LEARN STACK & TILT (PART 2)" . I can't find "LEARN STACK & TILT (PART 3)" . . .
Thanks for providing another great video Nick. I’ve noticed in several your videos “the grid” you use for swing path and ball position. Where can I purchase one?
Yes your right Nick I should have mentioned this, I will be doing a driver video in a couple of weeks and will explain in more detail. This video explains the weight a bit better: ruclips.net/video/oKwq_e8v7Rk/видео.html
Why do most of the S&T instructors on RUclips seem to play Mizunos? Just noticed now that I’m back in the Mizuno family…just ordered JPX 923 Pros…can’t wait!
@@NickTaylorGolf Been watching your videos on and off for years…got my second hip replaced almost 2 year ago now so back at it again…love the S&T swing. I’ve found it the most repeatable swing for me. I’ve always had trouble with anything longer than my 8 iron…played this weekend and wrote in my golf journal to stick to S&T no matter what! I did hit a bunch of thin iron shots (thinking it’s from going from an indoor sim on turf to outdoor grass from some research I’ve done as I don’t usually hit thin shots), but I hot two of the best 5 irons I’ve ever hit in my life! Can’t wait to play again this weekend if the weather holds…hovering around 40 degrees around here, so frost delays are common in the early AM hours when it’s below freezing!
After few years with S&T, i find one of hardest pieces is stuck the but, pushing and maintaining inclination to ground. Especially, in an attemp to open the hip prior impact: the more trying open, the more inconsistent the swing is. So how much is ideal: 30 degrees? and how to keep the left foot stable on the ground? Awiting new drills on those pieces!
Wow! Nick: I just realized that was my problem with stack and tilt. I was turning my shoulders but not my hips! This Opening up drill with the arms outstretched really helps! One problem I'm having is shanking my short irons! Any Help??? Thanks!
Yes, Nick. Watched them all. Do you think trying to keep my elbows together would help my shanks? I'm very tall 6'10" with long arms that get away from me. Thanks!
It may do Greg to help with your wrist angles but sometimes flexing the arms can help hit the ball towards the toe of the club so likely something else is causing it
Hi Nick, great video. When you perform this pivot drill, do you open your body out until the right arm is inline with the left? Does opening up automatically cause the the left shoulder to go down? One more question. Do u keep the left arm in the same line were it was at the beginning? Thanks Stephen
Hi Stephen the drill is to help the golfer extend, tilt and turn the whole body from the knees all the way up the spine. Yes you want minimum 180 degrees from right to left arm and I would position the left arm down towards the ball and keep it there
When you say to "push forward", how exactly are you pushing? Is it more pushing the left hip back? or am I pushing the left knee to the target? or am I using my right leg at all to push me forward?
Nick Taylor Golf I did and I enjoyed the video - one question about your lines: if the lead foot line is 90 degrees to the target line, which you don’t use, are you setting up with the clubface line open to the target? I appreciate that you say in the video that the club is open to the path at impact, but at set up what’s the situation please?
I would say looking at the picture to this upload 70-80% is on his lead side, mine certainly is and I'm S&T swing all the way.Every time I hit a bad shot nowadays is when I've not tilted over to my lead side at address....simple as that
Hi Nick....Great Video. Question on my Backswing I sometimes dip my head and doesn't stay steady. It might be my left knee. Does it bend towards the ball or over my foot? or is there another cause I am missing.
hello Nick ,New to this setup but from what I have seen so far is that weight favors the left at setup but no mention of this in this video. Is weight somewhat forward an important factor in the setup ? Also , too me , it seems there are different ways do do this. You can bend your left knee a little more, push your hip forward , or or just put more pressure on your left foot. Any comments ? Thanks!
2 questions mate 1.Find it difficult to push left hip back & turn in downswing with so much weight bias on left side.? 2. How do u swing left on downswing when right leg is pushing & extending?
Hi Ben, top of backswing you don't want to overdo the weight left, 60/40 is enough. The 2nd question is a good one, it is harder for sure. Thats why majority of golfers slice as they keep too much weight on the back leg in the downswing/finish. Have you seen the umbrella drill?
I would say a reverse pivot is when you move weight to the back in the downswing. The S&T swing doesn't move any weight to the right. I think this drill will help the golfer that sways and doesn't turn enough in the backswing
No not many I know some instructors say this but think its because they have previously talked about a weight shift to the right and don't want to admit they were wrong. So dress it up as some 'recentering", I use motion numbers at GOLFTEC and the average tour player moves the center of their hips towards the target 3.9" in the backswing
Hello Nick i have a question after watching this video. I have managed the back swing will the drill yoy had shown, however on the downswing and thru swing i find i have a tendency of my weight fall back on my trail leg. Any solutions or advice would be appreciated.
@@NickTaylorGolf I'm hitting the ball extremely clean and trap the ball well 2. That way I change my swing. Might be ball position. Aaron; I have the same problem, I can stay on left side with the short clubs but with longer clubs, I struggle.

Straightening the legs which raises the belt and moving the majority of the weight to the left side

It depends what shot i'm hitting but use the left shoulder as the center point of the swing

Raise the belt by straightening the legs and bank inwards with the right foot at impact and follow through
I just feel like giving up hurts my hands when I grip hurts my back when I stand to the ball and I just can’t get the hang of the instructions
