Very expensive goodies, is it worth it?

I just purchased an XT2 and I'm baffled, it's not possible that it's no longer supported by Base Camp and that Garmin hasn't thought of developing software to edit tracks from the PC; inconceivable, I am very disappointed.

I never ever used base camp previously but agree it’s strange that they have stopped it. I’m going to ask them at MCN live next week.
I use the Tread app on my iPad and that makes it easier, but it’s not base camp.

I use Google Map for everyday life and it's fine because it's very practical.
but for long journeys of 10/20 days I am used to creating the track with the PC, when there are large cities along the route, with points of interest it is very useful to do a reconnaissance on Google Hart, in this case recovering the GPS coordinates ( sitting comfortably in front of my PC with a 32" screen, choosing what to see, in this way the journey is as relaxing as possible, avoiding unnecessary waste of time even looking for a parking space.
It is not possible that Garmin, which is not a navigator in the world, sells a product costing €600 and does not maintain Base Camp, or does not think about creating a similar one, perhaps with the possibility that users can save their tracks on the cloud.

Yeah, that’s why I kept my ZumoXT and did not upgrade to the XT2. I use Basecamp all the time for planning routes to tour on my PanAmerica; works great! What was Garmin thinking with the XT2, offering no good option to plan routes?
