  • I go to Nara Park and see him everyday.
He knows and recognize me very well.
Well he knows that I feed him lots of deer crackers.
Nara Deer are wild animals so they usually don’t lick human fingers.
But one day, I was sitting next to him and he started to lick my fingers like a dog.

I usually see animals that want salt lick more quickly, I have a ongoing theory that videos, like this is helping me research.
You often see monkeys and other animals that lick or groom others for benefits, go quickly about it. But when it's actual grooming, like socially binding, they're slower about it like the deer in this video!

Deer appreciate the salt, and whatever food residual aroma left in the skin ..
Aside from being fed for humans to have tactile contact, deer are warm and loving creatures. They are so different from us, yet so much like us in other ways as family.

Yea that’s one thing but he loves me and I love him.
I go see him day in day out. We have not only bond but also much more than just food residual aroma.
Yes they are very warm and different from us. I hope you’d come to Nara and experience the magical atmosphere we locals have preserved for over 1000 years.

@@sacrednaradeerchannel6501 How wonderful! I saw he was content, in that state of bliss & comfort..but I didn't know that you & he were "family" bonded in the sense🥰
I have been blessed to have been with the local wild whitetail deer where I live in Northern New York, for over 40 years. My "deer family" & I have lived & worked together for over 24 years as neighbors & friends. We communicate & coordinate activities together, as co-equals..it is like a marriage of two different cultures who use the same "community-space" that would normally be exploited separately in turn. We have learned each other's ways, I have learned their language, it is very unique. My friends offer better security awareness & highlight forensic evidence of daily events or activities of note. They are better than gaurd dogs, as they have their fawns in my presence and defend their nurseries strongly. The matriarch has "redirected" 5 criminal actors I knew of.. but not interfered with the locals activities. Deer have good discernment.
We are so blessed to be with our deer, they invite us back together to the community of this world..
Where I live is a mix of "suburban" cities, towns, & villages, with wetlands, forests, & a great deal of agriculture. We have a wonderfully wide variety of wildlife, & many different habitats just within the 100mile/161km radius.. Great Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River, the Adirondack Mountains, the Tug Hill Plateau, & the Fingerlakes Region..Niagara Falls & Toronto Canada are to my west, Ottawa & Montreal to my north..& the HISTORY of my local Native American ancestors, the history of the settlers of modern America..the peoples who quite literally built the United States..the Natives of my Father's Mother's side of my lineage, the Mohawk Nation, were the fearless steel workers who built the skyscrapers of New York City.
Where we are from is so special, and such a joy to share..I would love to come discover your community should I get the chance!
In the meantime, it has been an honor to meet you, & see another person who respects and experiences the spirit of deer..I believe our connection to nature sets our understandings true, & makes us better humans!

They share the touristic&residential area for their living and to prevent them from hurting humans, the antlers are trimmed down. It doesn’t hurt him don’t worry.

@@sacrednaradeerchannel6501It is quite unique to live with deer in residential areas..I've lived with wild suburban whitetail deer for over 40 years. "Tourists" feeding for the deer's attention can cause problems of "expectation" behavior and agression

from what i understand they're attracted to the salt we produce through sweat. watched a couple other friendly deer videos where ppl in the comments mentioned it, and it makes complete sense considering how relaxed they get once they start licking.
