Did this video just blow up? I see where it’s posted a year ago but all the comments are from now lol. Good job on this man I appreciate other hunters with the same morals as I have bro I’d have done the same thing.
I wonder if that doe thought later about the weird fever dream she had about some hairless, kind, two-legged being coming to her and offering her comfort while she was hurt
Be careful around those males when they're in "rut;" some of them go right psycho, I think that's why he's being so mean to her. I was glad you rescued her but worried he'd gore you.
My money’s on the hunter, not that knucklehead male deer! I can’t believe he punctured her side. _I guess he likes it rough! But she CLEARLY DIDNT CONSENT._ He needs to be roughed up so he doesn’t go psycho on all the female deer. (Edit: the italicized part is just a joke, guys :)
@@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim It upset me too,and I agree with you but the buck; doesn't know what planet he's on-- it's that damned rut's got him all screwed up; , he seems to only have enough sense to get out of Dodge then stand a few feet away to ask the sheriff if he can come back.
We have clever little fingers and variable voices, both of which have a huge effect when they're gentle. When we want to comfort something... it will end up comforted at some point, if it holds still for long enough.
You know a deer is not feeling well when they let you pet them. Bless this man, he is so kind, sitting and waiting so long with her. I hope she was okay.
He probably didn’t have much choice. During the rut, a buck will often have several does to breed. This may have been his only doe, so she took 3 to 5 times as many breedings as normal.
If you hadn't injected yourself into the situation. She would probably died . Cause that young buck did not care . Thank goodness you stepped in. Great job .
Care? They would have to have a moral compass to care. Has nothing to do with care. The buck had no idea he was done. He had to many hormones coursing. ive seen bucks do wierd shit during rut. but not this. Glad that dude was there to break it up. Shes an older doe also so that didn't help im sure.
@@andyboog2010 absolutely! In my opinion: every comment is correct. Had he NOT intervened, the buck probably would have slaughtered her, but she was spent, old and maybe had given up, was willing to accept her fate. Then Again the Lord sent her Guardian Angel to help stimulate her and revive her will power. To check with the "treehugger types" that claim that hunters don't care. We're doing the world a favor by Population control, selective hunting and habitat protection. Overall, imo this world would be MUCH WORSE OFF if no hunting occurred!
You can tell, when I man treats a wild animal this well, he is probably a great father and husband, but definitely a genuinely caring person. This is the respectful, one with nature mentality many don't see in hunters. This hunter (tried) saved a deer from a terrible but natural death I probably would have watched and not understood.
A lot of us are really in tune with nature. At one with our surroundings. We respect the land that feeds us, and we love everything in it. Not all hunters are "trophy hunter" douchebags. In fact, most aren't. You just dont hear about the normal, good people. Nobody is gonna write an article about a father putting food on his family's table.
I honestly believe that hunters are more in tune & have more respect for deer than people that dont hunt. We respect them & are aware of how intelligent they are from trying to match wits with them, not to mention we pour millions of dollars every year (hunting licenses) that hopefully go into helping them & their habitat. We also help farmers out & harvest deer to eliminate car crashes. My two cents
Watching these types of videos have made me realise that not all hunters are filthy ones who hunt just for the thrill of it. I respect you genuine hunters ✊
Many hunters do respect animals, and want to keep them wild. It’s about conservation, and maintaining population. I grew up with hunting not just deer but birds, and even the very rare bear. My dad has his rituals before hunting as well as after harvesting the animal, he says a prayer of thanksgiving for the animal and creator so that we can be fed. I’m Indigenous, and we are taught this from a young age, the animal gave its life for us to live and forever we carry their spirit with us. It’s incredibly beautiful, not to mention eating wild game, I’ve found gives me less indigestion and upset than the usual beef, pork, or even chicken. Now hunting is not for everyone and that’s very true, and I respect everyone’s beliefs. I wanted to add this about the spiritual aspect that some may have not considered as part of my culture.
I once helped a duck who was being relentlessly chased by a couple of drakes. I stepped in between them and told the boys to shoo. They immediately ran away. The female stopped running away when I did that and looked at me, as though she was saying, "Did you do that for me?" After a moment, she calmly walked away, clearly happier now that she wasn't being chased. I know the drakes probably chased after her later, but I'm just glad I was able to give her a bit of a break, even for just a moment. XD
Yeah male ducks are so aggressive so much the females have reproductive organs like a maze with dead ends and corkscrews to make it harder for undesirable males to reproduce
This sounds like one of those ibviously fake cringy “I had to step in and protect m’ladies honor” stories exept its a duck Not saying it was fake btw, ive had wild animals come up to me and shit before too so i dont doubt it actually happened, it just reminded me of one of those
In most cases we say don’t interfere with animals and don’t touch them, but I think this is an exception. Just seeing how she reacted to you, she was thankful/comforted by your presence
Nah it depends on your role. If he was a journolaist or a visitor at a preserve he would have had no right to intervene. But as a casual bystander? Do as you like.
Hmmm I see it differently, if you help animals in the wild, then help them. Yeah you’re not supposed to and it could fuck up the ecosystem or whatever but if that’s what you want to do then so be it. If you do believe that nature is nature and humans shouldn’t interfere then you should never help or else your full of shit and a hypocrite. You can’t have a belief then change it whenever its convenient. I can’t be vegan but then be like “oh but I eat a steak every now and then when I crave it”. You helping that one animal while letting the others die when you could have helped them is fucked since you obviously don’t mind interfering.
@@chi7818 no, sometimes let nature take course. Theres a reason why parks tell people not to feed wild animals. What you dont want is wild animals that can kill humans associating humans with food. Nature is brutal but its life and suffering is life. Help when you can but know your place
@@lulufufu7139 yeah i don't agree with that. i share the belief of David Attenborough and many others that nature is nature and you shouldn't interfere. now if it was something directly caused by people like the deer was stuck in a net or something then yeah help since that isn't part of nature but just the things animals do to themselves should be left alone. David Attenborough filmed Life and explains why you should let nature take it's course. he uses an example of a leopard chasing a fawn. if you somehow chase the leopard away the fawn is disoriented and alone so it will probably die anyways. the leopard would just look for another fawn to kill but it used a large amount of energy so its own life or the life of its cubs are in danger now. in this video, the buck was clearly dangerous. by chasing it away it probably went and harassed another doe just like this one. or it fought with and killed/was killed by another buck ending in a worse situation.
The way she perks up when he moves away is almost like she's saying"Where are you going? Please don't go.." Poor girl, it'd be hard for me to leave her side
I found a doe once like this, but I was too late. She'd been punctured too deep by an overly aggressive male. I sat with her while she took her last breaths. She was a young one too, only four or five years old. I couldn't do anything but pet her neck until she died about an hour or two later. I never forgot that sigh she let out just before she died. 😞
@@marksalver1765 trust me I know what u mean. I just saw my uncle passed away last week. He had stage 4 prostate cancer so he was pretty much done. It wasn't stopping no matter what they did. The one thing I remember the most was when he took his last breath. The light in his eyes just went away. It really screw me up mentally. It took me a few days to finally get over it and even now I'm still having nightmares about it. I wish I wasn't there when it happened but I promised him that I would be there till the end. It was just me and my aunt in the room. The only family members waited outside. I miss him very much but he was done dealing with the pain and suffering and I can't really blame him. I use that phrase for the flora The fauna? Nevermind😂 Edit: doesn't mean i hate fauna. There's a difference betwenn loving nature (all flora and fauna) and respecting them. I'm the latter
@Henry The Pretzel They're endangered species. Biodiversity is important to the eco system, whether you like a given species or not. Predators are needed and they tend to be fairly savage. The point is nature is nature, and to them it's not sadistic, it's instinct. It's not about judging the ethics of animals, it's about people not being naive regarding the nature of animals.
@Henry The Pretzel I disagree. If predators weren't around or lessened to an alarming rate, the herbivores would multiply even more until they fill the grasslands and have nothing left to eat it becomes very out of balance
@Henry The Pretzel yes. Those who live in the country side and on developing countries are very much aware of this, both in their own lives and on nature itself. It's like both coexist with each other, acknowledging that both need to live. It's just a matter of who. Survival is the utmost priority, but also making sure that we can only take what we need.
Even though we go out and hunt these animals, we still care about them and don’t want them to suffer and have a cruel death. Much respect sir, true hunters.
People who are against hunting of animals have not seen vids like this. They are so far removed from nature that they do not realize 99% of animals face a much more painful demise than getting taken quickly by a hunter. In nature you litterally get raped to death, torn limb for limb, left to die after sustaining injuries that our hospitals would classify as minor. It’s not a perfect beautiful fun place, there are two sides to it. The beautiful could not exist without the brutal.

I knew you were a hunter before I even checked your channel. I believe hunters have a STRONG respect with nature and the animals that walk it. I wish more of the population saw that. Ik this was 4 yrs ago but thank you for saving that doe
I grew up going to school with boys who bragged about mistreating the geese they hunted. So thankful to see hunters who give a care about the animals they put themselves alongside. This poor girl, I hope she turned out okay.
Some hunters care. Some are cruel. I knew several guys in high school that would break the law, and leave traps unattended for weeks, knowing that any animal they caught would suffer a slow and horrible death. Trophy hunters and poachers don't give a damn, either. They'd wipe out the last of a species, just so they could brag about it. There are some trophy hunters that pay to get exotic and endangered animals imported, just so they can kill them while they're still in cages. Some hunters care, but there's plenty out there that definitely don't. Just like any hobby, it attracts a bunch of different people, and not all of them are going to be good people.
He even said he wanted her to be okay no I don’t think he went a hunted her he literally just witnessed animal sexual assault and him knowing those animals he probably felt very bad he couldn’t do anything and knew she was old and lived through all kinds of shit so he really just wanted her to be okay. Hunters do love animals believe it or not.
I can't imagine how calming your little head rub was to her. I bet she was very thankful you were around to help her, I know would be. Thank you for being so amazing, respect to you sir
She was definitely scared. While he was petting her I was thinking, you know predators sometimes do similar things..they’ll find an animal like that and they will rub up against it, licking and sniffing and stuff like that, and eventually start taking bites. Because they know the animal is helpless, and they may not even be hungry at the time. But, they might decide 5 minutes later that they are.
@@16kings actually you would surprised how many animals actually calm down at the site of humans. Most of the time when in danger/close to death some animals even seek out human's help. We will never truly know how she felt. Although animals can sense things way better than humans.
@swiggity swooty it’s said at 3:45 and she is fit enough to be a mom. Usually bucks aren’t this violent, since the want the doe to survive and give birth to their kids
5:44 Animals have rules ingrained in them from birth. Run from danger, follow your mother, become stronger to protect yourself etc Humans have no such thing. When it comes to nature, the only rule we have is that "if it stays still long enough, then pet it." And with that, we rose to the top.
You freaking bet lol we just can't help but try to pet a wild animal if it'll let us until it says Just Kidding as we reach out to pet it and it takes our arm off. Then you have those die hard that are like, 'that's okay, I still have one hand which equals another chance at a quick pet and scratch behind the ears!' 😂🤣
Im more suprised that the buck didnt run away and instead just casually walked away. I wouldve tried to get close and slashed his throat. He was i nice buck
you just have to imagine this from the doe's pov imagine you're about to get assaulted from someone and then a bear appears out of nowhere and scares your attacker off, then sits there with you and tries to calm you down like what. how do you react
You become one with said bears. Learn their language, establish citizenship, and never deal with said assaulter again. One day go back to your homeland, and establish a form of truce with your people, and the bears.
I would ask the bear if he has any snacks or if he could maybe get me a shot of vodka, cause I’ve been through a lot. I’d also ask him to shoot the assaulter
She relaxed when he was close and watching her and became more scared and alert when he went away. This is often how you can tell if an animal trusts you.
Just for the record, people always shit on hunters. But all these situations and there are hundreds just on youtube and most are not even recorded when people save animals from dying. They are almost ALWAYS hunters. They respect nature cuz they live from it. They know nature and animals. Not counting his hooves which could cut you to pieces if he used them on you. If he had a gun, good for him. If he didn’t, he’s stupid for risking his own life to save an animal. I have to admit when I seen the buck try to to use his horns to get her up, I would have dropped him. Yes, I would have kept the meat, hide, and horns. Way to aggressive and would to on to sire many more way to aggressive male offspring. Glad you found her the doe. I sure hope she made it.
I'm not trying to be a prick, but I'll sound like one. Those are antlers. A big difference is that Antlers will fall off and regrow annually while a horn is a permanent growth.
@D M Bucks drop their antlers at the end of rutting season. Next season, they regrow. Year after year... The number of points on the antlers indicates the age. The more points, the older the buck...
@ bucks that rut does into this state are cur from the same cloth as human males that rape women, they shouldn't be allowed to breed(and yes I think that a human rapist caught in the act should be shot and killed). As hunter I would kill this buck if in season because he has bad behavior that will hurt herd numbers in following years. There are plenty of good bucks that don't over breed the does, no need to let this one continue breeding.

It's crazy that I ran across this video. Three years ago I had this happen in my yard in the very back of the field at the tree line. I heard my ducks raising hell and noticed the were way back there which they never do because of predators of course. Went to see what was going on in the cart and she was in real bad shape. He beat her up real bad. The damn ducks were trying to help her. They were gathered all around her hollering like crazy at him while she lay there helpless. Damndest thing I ever seen. He would not stop! Was after the ducks and me! Attacked my cart several times. Finally my husband came out there with the truck when he realised I was fighting a buck with the golf cart. We finally got him backed up in the tree line so we picked her up and put her on the tailgate and took her up to the house. She was completely incapacitated. I made a bed for her on the back porch and she stayed there for two days. Ever since then she basically lives in my back yard. Every now and then I find her on the back porch. I've not seen her with fawn though. She's not tame but she will follow me everywhere I go outside. I believe she feels safe here..

My Grandpa Ron, he was a hunter and I wanted to hunt with him so bad (Can’t now because I have mental health issues), and he taught me so much about respecting your kill, give thanks to it, and to try and use everything you possibly can out of it. One thing I've noticed in these type of vids is a lot of animals enjoy the affection that humans provide(scratching/ petting), maybe nostalgia of their mothers when they were young?
Well if you think about it most animals just breed which is only a few minutes, maybe some nuzzling and that's it. Rest of the year they barely interact and have no physical contact. So yes when a human runs them they often appreciate it, but be careful. They're still wild and may have diseases or bad temperament
I truly believe most animal life responds to traditional forms of love. While wild animals are still wild, in a weird way (I don't mean this in a hippy way) but we're very similar creatures and everything wants affection to one degree or another .
Seeing you interact with her reminds me of one of my best friends from high school. His name was Teddy and he passed away his junior year after a fishing accident. He was also a hunter but incredibly kind and had a gentle soul. It seems that you do as well.
I’m not gonna lie, I always assumed hunters didn’t care much for animals. I’m not against hunting since it’s natural and part of the circle of life, but I assumed hunters themselves were not very respectful of animal lives beyond what they provide. This very clearly proved me wrong; such a beautiful display of respect for the doe, even if he was out in the first place to hunt deer, restored my respect in hunters and people in general. The fact that he can kill animals yet still respect their lives and wellbeings is very beautiful and the way it’s supposed to be, ALL hunters should be the way this man is towards animals. Just because we hunt them doesn’t mean they don’t deserve respect and compassion or deserve to be treated like nothing but a food source. They keep us alive, the least we can do is respect them, it should be balanced like that. I love this video so much, he’s a good man. I definitely have a changed opinion about hunters, though I know they aren’t all this way, it gives me faith that many are.
Trophy hunters are scum. Food hunters are respectful. My father once went rabbit hunting in mid-fall and found a rabbit who had prematurely shed its brown summer coat for a white winter coat, and it was painfully obvious where it was “hiding”. My dad felt so bad for the thing, he sat next to it, drank a coke and talked to it. When he finished the coke, he watched it bounce away safely.
Trophy hunters are less than 1% of all hunters, also, they tend to be rich af. Actual hunters, the ones that Leftists deride all the time, have more empathy in their little finger than the average SJW Twitter warrior has in their entire body.
Not to mention legal hunting requires fees and registrations that go a long ways towards protecting these animals from being overly hunted and keeping the population healthy from the real assholes

Deer won’t go out in an open field if there are wolves around, they also won’t go out into the road, as they have no cover or camouflage. The only places deer are an “issue” are areas that hunters have killed off the natural predators, usually to protect livestock. This isn't commendable at all, and is the opposite of conservation. If deer were really an issue, you could always reintroduced native predators. Hunting is essentially carrying out the opposite of what nature does. Hunters kill the healthiest and strongest deer, rather than in nature where the sickest and weakest would be killed. Hunters also like to pretend that they’re all crack shot snipers too. The amount of deer that die instantly when shot is greatly less than the number that get shot and injured, spending their last moments on this planet running scared while bleeding out. Hunters like to pretend that it’s “moral” to hunt, but we don’t need them, neither do the deer…
This poor doe. Good thing this guy was there for her. Even though animals can't really show human emotions, I'm sure she was somehow greatful he got the buck to leave her alone by sitting by her. Bucks, especially young bucks aren't known to be around humans, meaning that he saved this does life by just being in her general area. Good to you, sir. You are a very passionate, caring soul. I have a lot of respect for that.

Humans' ability to comfort other animals will always amaze me.
We have clever little fingers and variable voices, both of which have a huge effect when they're gentle. When we want to comfort something... it will end up comforted at some point, if it holds still for long enough.
Mammals are usually licked by their mothers as babies and petting reminds them of it qwq
Humans could be as gentle as a feather or more destructive than a mindless beast

*me just staring at the periods and not even focusing on the message*
You can tell, when I man treats a wild animal this well, he is probably a great father and husband, but definitely a genuinely caring person. This is the respectful, one with nature mentality many don't see in hunters. This hunter (tried) saved a deer from a terrible but natural death I probably would have watched and not understood.
I've seen numerous videos of hunters reading deer stuck in fences.

After a moment, she calmly walked away, clearly happier now that she wasn't being chased.

If predators weren't around or lessened to an alarming rate, the herbivores would multiply even more until they fill the grasslands and have nothing left to eat
it becomes very out of balance

Not all them
Some hunters care.

I'm not trying to be a prick, but I'll sound like one. Those are antlers. A big difference is that Antlers will fall off and regrow annually while a horn is a permanent growth.
I thought the exact same thing every time I saw it- would have dropped that buck in a heartbeat. Poor doe.

Yep, that's the entire motive behind petting cats. It reminds them of being a kitten being "pet" by their mother's tongue and calms them down

Hunters are more respectful to animals then most of the general population
Definitely more respectful there are bad ones though I feel like everyone should hunt an animal once it’s so much more then killing and eating it
Not to mention legal hunting requires fees and registrations that go a long ways towards protecting these animals from being overly hunted and keeping the population healthy from the real assholes

Deer are scared skittish animals. Deer in a forest with natural predators are rarely seen.
