- After sleeping in the back of my car for the night I kayak into a remote pice of coats and land on the rocks. I crank the bury and before I even get a line in the water there is big snapper swimming around at my feet. The fish are nothing and it’s all action from the very first cast.

It be cool to see snaps kawaii of the rocks find nice spot for the kayak thats living we got boat catch snaps maybe few kingfish but kayaking is fun but not easy
Your bang on about the kayak getting in around those untouched area's. Perfect!
Cheers bro. Yea I’ll definitely be done more of it through winter.
Incredible fishing my friend, much respect.
Thanks so much 👌🏽
Still like the camping video with the pop up tent
Good effort, mate.
Thanks mate. Was an epic day
Can't wait to go fishing. Been raining and windy in the far north for weeks. 👍
They are my favourite days to fish off the rocks … not so nice in the boat
Great fishing video my friend 👍👍👍 watch from indonesia
Cheers bro. Thanks for watching 👌🏽
What a wicked adventure mate and awesome fish. Your content definitely gets me motivated right I'm loading up the boat and going fishing lol
Thanks bro. Yea hopefully do a few more missions like that through winter. Get out there man 👌🏽
@@OceanNationCo awesome can't wait to see the new vids. I'm in Tauranga no rocky coastline but lots of snaps and trevs in the shallows
Yea not a lot of rocks there ay. Close for some east cape missions though 👌🏽
@@OceanNationCo yeah mate definitely.
I will be waiting patiently
Thanks mate l. It’s a goodie👌🏽
love that you've got great respect for these spots and treat them well to preserve the environment there. I'd love to have rock fishing of that quality over here in aus but swell keeps me out of the game most days on the good headlands, stay safe and tight lines bro
Thanks mate. Fishing for the future. I’m pretty lucky here, the fishing is amazing and there is always somewhere out of the swell here.
Love to put those big fullahs back and yes good practice... Go back the next time man always gets a feed.. thank guyz...
Thanks mate 🤙🏽
Friggen loved it
Thanks mate, cheers for watching 🤙🏽
Mean bro, motivating me to get my pig of a kayak out more to access the bricks this winter!

Thanks so much bro. Appreciate the comment and the support 🤙🏽
its always exciting to try new places. i hope to explore new spots on the kayak one day haha but it does look like a mission though haha those salmon berleries r amazing. used it on the wharf once and one shake and had schools of random fish swarm all over it including snapper which was unusual
Yea mate definitely give it a try, it makes for a good day. Yea salmon burly is hard to beat
Good shit bro, too bad those big ol kingys weren't keen! 🤙
Thanks bro. Yea that would have topped the day off nicely 👌🏽
The burley worked a treat.
Burly is key 👌🏽
Mean content as usual mate, that looks like a productive place for a kina dive too!
Thanks bro. Yea I’d say it would be loaded
Epic bro! I know exactly where that is and have been trying to get my mates there for years too!!! Never fished it but now I've seen whats there I'm definitely keen! Good work mate!!
Cheers bro. Yea it’s not a bad spot. Will be even better mid winter too
felt bad for you getting hit every cast lol Epic watch cheers
Haha yea it’s a tough day, didn’t get much rest time. Thanks for watching🤙🏽
Epic bro 😎
Thanks bro 🤙🏽
Loving the video
Thanks mate 👌🏽
@@OceanNationCo what size hook for the snapper I have 6/0 j hook and 5/0 6/0 circle hooks
I use 8/0 bkk j hooks 👌🏽
@@OceanNationCo thanks 👍
No worries mate
Awesome vid but probably pushing the limits of that yak, that main point can get ugly 😬
Thanks mate. The forecast was perfect that day. Definitely have to pick you days in the yak
Yep I’ve fished that area a lot off my yak and I’ve never seen it that nice 👍
It was like the hat from dawn till dusk. Do you get some good fish around there? That was my first time. I was thinking about landing on lion rock.
You're mum rocks catching that snap I'm from matarangi comandel got kayak it's hard yaka on kayaking but when I go it's no swell not easy to put kakay on rocks what's the secret dude thanks Craig today flat calm in matarangi
Really great content. I have 3.5m plastic boat with a Minn Kota and can sneak into those spots on gps anchor. Its set up for night fishing. I bet those 20 pounders would be there just after sunset. I am keen to try it in your neighbourhood sometime.
Thanks mate. Ooh that’s a good setup. I’m on the lookout for a little boat to get me in there a bit easier. A blow up boat so I can deflate it and put it in there the boot
@@OceanNationCo With the Minn Kota you can remote control it and stick it on anchor 20 meters out while you land base. No worries about the rocks.
Oh that’s the dream setup
That is the way to get on the kayak feet over the edge
Yea it seems to be ay. Still sketchy though haha
I had a fishing kayak beach entry so easy heading through the waves coming back in though can be dodgy. do not miss the wet and numb ass though lol A positive note I did catch lots of fish from how quiet they are. I would have a pilchard set up and go close to a rock and cast near it with out spooking the fish
Hahaha yea it’s hairy as coming back into the beach ay
@@OceanNationCo being able to stay upright on the way in on a wave
Yea it’s tricky ay
Mean fishing. What size jighead's do you use with those softbaits
Thanks bro. I’m using a 3/8 and the softbait is a 7inch.
What you thrown first in the the net in the sea for what ????
That chum, minced up fish to attract the fish. I put that in the water before I set my rods up and usually by the time I start fish there is fish close by
gotta speed up the retrieve for the sluggo they love they chase
Cheers mate. I’ll try that
@@OceanNationCo no problem bro, ive caught many kings using a heavy jighead letting it sink down and fast jigging off the rocks, usually doesnt last 5 seconds if theyre around
Crack up bro you’re not happy with the fish I go crazy over hahah mean sesh
Haha yea Im very spoilt where I live and always chasing those XL snaps but those are definitely nice fish and I’m always pumped to catch them 🤙🏽
Hi, what poundage line do you use on your different rods?
And how is the rock fishing in winter time June, July and August.
Thanks for the content.
Hey mate, 50lb braid on my big rod and 20lb on my softbait rod. The rock fishing fires in June and July, still pretty good in august too 🤙🏽
@@OceanNationCo Do you use any leader and how long would you use for this type of rock fishing? I’ve seen people use leader thats wraps around the reel about 3 times. Is this ideal for using braid?
@TokoTEE hey bro. On my snapper rod I run about an 1.8 meter 60lb fluorocarbon trace. Sits just below my top eye and it is a good length to cast with. I’ll use a wind on trace if I’m fishing swelly conditions on my own. Extra length to grab hold of and land good fish in the swell.
Good fishing . Have you fished with a KP 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks mate. What’s a KP?
Good morning it is a fishing reel that I fish with 👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm from South Africa it is made by Keith Palmer
@@user-fh6bs8lk7w oh ok . No I haven’t
Negative 3 points for no livebait,I wana see results mate.
Fair call. I couldn’t catch a livie all day
Do you have any recommendations on softbait sizes, brands, types, or colours?
Hey mate I would recommend Daiwa bait junkies, that’s what I’m catching all my fish on. 5 or seven inch jerk shad. Anything with pink or orange in it usually goes pretty well for me.
@@OceanNationCo thank u m8
No worries 👌🏽
What softbait rod are you useing
Hey mate. I’m using the td wash game 5-12kg rod from Daiwa
Just bought a daiwa slugga 6-12kg rod would that do the job doing softbaiting and light stickbaiting off the rocks
Yea that’s the same rod. Good for sort baiting off the rocks and fill handle a kingie well too. My mate got a 13kg kingie on my rod last earlier this week
Location plsss
Deep in the coast bro
