How lucky people are to be able to experience this...ive always lived in South Georgia never been able to even go on vacation anywhere ..but ive always felt like the Northern Wilderness is where i am suppose to be or shouldve been past 34 years. .Not here where i am. i would be so much happier living somewhere like that but Im trapped here with work and not being able to afford the move .. almost feel like my life is wasting bc im not where i should be .. im sure im not the only one ever felt this way. I Just hope people who are able to live in such a beautiful place or even vacation there know how lucky they are. I doubt ill ever make it there but maybe. I was jus meant to roam and explore be in the real wild .

You are not alone. I'm going to try soon. I raised my 4 kids by myself for the most part. I've been at my same job for 25 years. I feel like I'm wasting away in this stagnant hole. Alaska has always called to me.

Sell, give away, and throw everything you have. Then buy an older RV that is in good condition, and take off in that direction. The cost of living is so much cheaper in an RV. Workers are needed about everywhere you go.

Well Jim, you did it, I cannot go 1 day without watching at least 1 of your videos, sometimes 2. I’m born and raised in South Florida and have always loved the outdoors. The adventures that you and sometimes Ted go on are absolutely epic. It also goes to show that we really don’t have to go far to enjoy an adventure ourselves. You have inspired 10’s of thousands of people into doing just that. Keep up the incredible work Jim, I know I speak for many when I say we love your channel and all of the incredible hard work, from doing the trip, the epic filming and the never ending editing. You are the absolute best outdoor adventure channel on YT, by far. Thanks Jim

I'm 75 now and thanks to injuries from a drunk driver my better daze sic are behind me. I lived on a mangrove island in the Caribbean by myself for 2 years. Traveled North and South East and West. I'm going to take the liberty of saying it's not the pan you use that is sticky. Any stainless pan can be seasoned and if you heat the pan first then put in oil when pan is hot enough your food wont stick. When a drop of water dances in your pan then put in the oil. When your oil shimmers then put in your food. I know over campfire it's hard to control heat. I saw you do a tripod or you can use coals instead of flames so you dont have too high a heat and burn your food and your pan. I know it's a small thing whether your food sticks to the pan. What is a big no no are😮 nonstick pans. Non stick pans have teflon or other type of PFAS coating. I would caution against using any pans pots or anything used for cooking that has a nonstick surface made with a PFAS chemical costing. The EPA and the European Union have recently set strict limits for PFAS's in our drinking water and for a lifetime exposure. PFAS's are forever chemicals. 95 % of Americans have some amount of PFASs in their blood and throughout their body. Once in they can not be removed. Practically all US tap water will have to be tested by 2025.i would advise that you never use a non -stick pot or pan that has a PFAS surface. EPA's limit as of 2024 is 4 parts per trillion. No amount no matter how low is good for any human being. I noticed the pan was new it probably is thin to save on weight. I would suggest you use a regular stainless stell pan the weight wasn't important and the thicker pan would stop your food from overcooking and burning. bring a regular pan and a cover.

I loved this. Thank you so much for taking me out into the spaces that I love. I watched the whole documentary and didn't want it to end. Actually, I'm not sure why it did end when you still had 5 days left, and I was ready to go up that mountain with you...? I will click around and see if there is a Part 2 somewhere. Such amazing beauty, and you have some great skills. Thanks again.

I feel u but I just watched a previous one where the guy saved up 4years to a 300 day survival challenge on a island and part of it reminds me of kids of colonizers who grow up rich Europeans that stole there wealth from other countries and you knowing his living a dream and that you will never be able in your life time to have that opportunity ..........

So, because there is a cabin there it’s not remote and there are people there? There is no road into the cabin or lake (far from it) is extremely off- grid, no one has been there for years. Float plane access only. lol

I enjoyed this. I’ve done lots of long-distance paddling. Mostly in kayaks in the central and southern US. My back issues don’t allow me to sit in a kayak or canoe for long periods anymore, so it’s nice to get to enjoy other people’s river trips.
