- I wanted to make a quick video on my superstick mild build g56, I have been waiting for a while to do this because I wanted to make sure i had enough break in miles on the transmission to do it justice. I hope you guys enjoy the video. If anyone has any questions on the setup please feel free to ask away and if you are thinking about having this done in the future I recommend calling superstick and talking to Cody to make sure your getting exactly what you need.

Launches are definitely getting better!
I'm not sure if I need more rpm or what
Looks perfect! Anymore sauce and you would have to go 4hi
Man you put a lot of faith in those valve springs 🤣 the sound of a 6.7 eating will never get old though.
Yeah I need to stop that
@@Cargill450 just make sure you have enough savings or credit card balance to fix it if it ever let's loose
I really need to get springs in it sooner then later, I definitely think I will do it this winter
@@Cargill450 atta boy, I need to stud mine and get trans coolers
I want to do springs and push tubes at the same time
This is awesome ! Man she shifts so much better 💪🏻 👍🏻
Wayyyy better, the thing feels awesome
Awesome man. I just saw this video. That rips.
Sounds sick!!!! Nice truck!!!
Thank you man!! I appreciate it
Great video man. I've watched quite a few of yours. I have a stock 2018 g56 truck. That transmission looks to shift great. I haven't seen much on the clutch masters fx1200 for reviews. I know it's expensive, but i've been contemplating it in the organic model, as well as a valair organic dual. I don't plan on running huge power, so i might even look at a clutch masters single disc, or a valair single. Anyways, keep up the vids. They are great. What did superstick recommend for trans fluid in your build g56?
Thank you man that means alot, they recommended Amsoil manual syncromesh, that is their ride or die oil and its really good stuff. I'm trying to work out some noise issues with the clutchmaster so we will see soon enough if it's worth the money or not 🤷🏼♂️
Hey man good video. I have a g56 in my truck with 112k miles and it shifts good. The factory clutch is sloppy. It doesnt slip at all though. I should still get some miles out of it yet. But I've been contemplating south bend when it does come time. But after what you said I'm questioning that now. It would be nice to have a more firm clutch. And since you've been down that road more than once I'd be interested to hear your suggestions
Other then the noise the southbend was a good clutch but I honestly have always wanted to see how a vlair clutch stacked up and honestly the big name clutches are only getting better and better so you really won't go wrong with either southbend, vlair or even the organic clutchmaster but make sure you call and talk to them before you pull the trigger because there are so many damn options they will be able to give you a part number that will work best for you.
I'm having Cody due my swap at Superstick headquarters
Just bought a 98 12 valve ext cab short bed from Missouri and having it shipped straight to Texas.
What clutch do you recommend? Excited to say the least
I'm banking on Cody recommending a valair dual disk. I would definitely do what he recommends
Esa transmisión se le pide poner a un motor 5.7 Hemi a mi Ram?
I think they do put this transmission behind some of the gas engines in their trucks as well.
Has your gas mileage gotten better or worse with the lower gearing?
It has actually gotten alot better because it's in a happier work range
Hows it sounds in neutral at idle with that clutch set up? My 08 with a dual.disk sounds like it's falling apart in neutral. You can hear it from across the parking lot. Everyone says its normal from a dual disk but it's super annoying to me.
With the clutchmaster fx1200 it definitely sounds broken, you would actually have a hard time hearing the engine over the trans but I'm not sure with the new valair setup yet, im still putting it back together
Any special questions do you recommend to me ask to cody for rebuild my transmission?? This last Saturday I take my truck to they I live 4hrs from them ..the shop was close obviously so tomorrow may they call me for what I need...
Nothing really too special, he is a really good at his craft and I'm sure he will get you on the straight and narrow for sure
Brother how much does this cost what does Cody Charge and how long did it take? I’m in PA as well.
It really all depends on what your after, I honestly don't remember what I payed all said and done maybe 3000-3500 but I didn't have much for damage in the transmission. The best thing to do would be to try to give them a call or send them a message, they are damn good people
Ball park on cost? Thinking of having them do a zf5 for me
They are all different depending in what needs replaced and how far you want to go so I couldn't really give you a good ball park but I will tell you my experience with them, when I sent mine in the only failed parts I had were the 5th gear syncro set and with going with their "mild" build they changes a little of other stuff inside the trans but that being said it was under 1400 to have mine done and that was including freight. I would definitely give them a call and see what they can do for you.
@@Cargill450 Awesome thanks for the quick response! Doubt my truck will ever be over 500hp but I tow heavy alot with it and looking for the reliability they seem to build their name off of.
Yeah you bet, that's what I'm here for. They build one hell of a trans and 500 is still no slouch for sure.
Any noise during acceleration from them synchros during break in period
Mine would chatter the gears a little bit if that makes sense but it has gotten a lot better for sure, other then that nothing too crazy
Just finished install on mine with valair dual brand new t case and both driveshafts. Thing shifts amazing but 6th gear has like a chatter/whining is that the chatter your talking about
Hmm mine has a slight whine to it but it's hardly noticeable, I wouldn't stress too much but make sure to call and check on that to see what they say
Ya gonna call today only put 5 miles on it didn't wanna make things worse. Appreciate the speedy response
