That is a really nice set up, inspires me for my 05 nv5600 truck. Glad to see you still rocking the Wirefire Gang shirts. How much total time did that install take? You make it all look simple. Having the right tools and knowledge make it all work out nicely.
I want to drive a manual 3rd gen, I have an 05 with a Firepunk Comp in it and it's great but still not 100% power to the ground all the time. I think my next truck in a few months will be a manual. Truck sounded good in the video, I forgot what that 5.9 sounded like, I went 6.7 swap a year ago.
@@200130769 LOL Not a snowballs chance in hell a 5.9 can do what this 6.7 does. The only thing you need in a 6.7 is rods. Wagler street fighters FTMFW. My 6.7 with a 68mm spools like the stock charger did on a 5.9. My 5.9 needed rings so I went bigger A 5.9 does great with compounds, but I rather have the cubes. My truck is a toy not a work truck.
@Joshua Quilliam you forgot valve springs and head studs. It's the same with the 5.9. Head studs, valve springs, and pushrods is all both need unless you're passing 1000 hp. The 5.9 can tune just as much as a 6.7 can. So I'm not seeing where the 6.7 is miles ahead. Wouldn't you want something actually fast as a toy?
Is that a completely stock g56 transmission? Just curious because i have an 06 5.9 with a dual disc clutch , DDP 90's , CP3K , EFI , fass 150, and compound 62/65 over a 75/96 snails and wonder how bad I can rip on my transmission before I need to worry about breaking stuff

Great work Josh! I have learned a ton from your channel. Hoping to 2nd gen swap my 6.7 g56 truck in the near future, what would be a good turbo to have a little fun but still be able to tow? Open to doing injectors eventually but rather stay on stock sticks for a bit.
Josh starting to tow a lot / hot shot with my 6 ho. Would you say stay vgt or go with one of these new ball bearing s300 . Was thinking maybe a s364.5/68 .83 divided with divided up pipes ? Or if vgt like kc stage 1.5-2
Love your videos. I'm in the middle of doing studs, ddp 40 hp injectors and new rockers due to mine being galled. How is the best way to get a torque wrench on that rear injector tube nut? Thanks. Crows foot ain't cutting it. The rear are easy to do
Hey Josh, I thought you did the studs in the torque pattern. Do you recommend installing the airdog with the bottom outside plate? My 06 runs better with a full tank of fuel and I’m thinking the airdog setup drawing up from the bottom is restricting my flow. Any opinion?
@Deejo5.9 clearly. I didint ask what the turbo setup is, you can clearly tell. And see in the video 2nd gen swap kit.. I want to know whats AFTER it.. 🙄
Josh, quick question…currently looking at buying a 5.9 g56 truck. Long term goal would be 800ish hp. Truck will be 60/40 toy/daily driver…will tow some, but not everyday. Do g56’s hold up to abuse…or are they kinda fragile like a zf6? or is an auto truck probably the better move. Hard decision, especially after hearing how nice the truck in this video sounds lol
Interesting you say fragile like a ZF6 I have always heard they are very stout and some people upgrade to them since in their stock form they are better than a built NV or G56? I am building a 12V and want to be +800hp too with a manual but not sure what trans to go with. Was thinking G56 for simplicity but worried it wouldn't hold up. Other option was ZF6 as I have heard great things about how they drive and how they handle power. I have no first hand experience with either though
