  • Interior wall framing is easy off a slab. Same principle as the last video, but we can tie the chalk line to the underside of adjacent top plates. Remember, taking the time to get the top plates flat and level now will benefit us in future videos.
    Please remember that I'm not showing the best way to do anything, but just the method that works well for us. Thanks for watching!
    Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like RUclips if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course sso.teachable.com/secure/2458... I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.

    Tim! If anything never retire keep teaching! You have developed a great attitude towards new ppl on the job! You are never disrespectful towards others , yet you do not put up with dangerous habits they bring to the job! Ie lifting, ladder work, ect.,.

    Ok, so I'm 33 and I'm a punch framing sub for a lumber company. I also have a 9 year old named Noah. I hope to one day frame houses with him as you do with your Noah. I also have my contractors license and want to one day build our own houses together. Thoroughly enjoy your content.
    Edit: my Noah is also a red head if I'm seeing your sons hair color correctly. 😄
    Edit 2: Thank you for seriously helping me not feel as bad for walking back and forth on my jobs as much as I do 😫

    Hey Tim, are you using galvanized nails for everything top and bottom? I noticed you didn’t switch to nail your studs to the PT bottom plates. Hello from Portland!

    • @AwesomeFramers
      @AwesomeFramers  Год назад +1

      good question. I use borate treated lumber for bottom plates, that way we don't need galvanized fasteners.

    Maybe I was seeing it wrong but when you wind your string line up you should wind it up and down on the shaft, that way no tangles when you unwind

    I use a laser, no sag. Yes there is a tape measure involved but no sag and faster to set up.

      @AwesomeFramers  Год назад +1

      Can you explain that further? That sounds way slower than this, plus there isn't any sag 👍👍

    I’ll have to make a video of how we shoot all our basement studs with a laser and 4ft ruler. Some simple math and we get all our studs right off the rip without any strings or chalk. And everything ends up perfectly straight flat and level.

      I'd like to see that. Though I can't imagine how that's faster.

    "you have to train." Sadly, 90% of the orgs I've interacted with either don't believe in this or lose the knowledgeable workers who could do the training before they onboard someone new. Huge problem in America at the moment. Hopefully if we see some sort of economic revolution or reformation in the near future, people with your attitude are in charge of laying out the base principles; I think it'd make for a much healthier country.

    I am self-employed and not in the construction-business. I assume you are equivalent to a sub-contractor and are not being paid directly by the home-owner. I wonder if you equate your personal-value, by how much money you average per-hour, or per-day or per-week, or per bi-weekly, or per month, or per season ? Meaning, somedays, you may feel like you made a sufficient amount of money, while some week overall, you did less than
    expected.
