    Here's a two day video of Brook and I fishing offshore. We were primarily trolling planers with drone spoons and bonito strips. The Drone Spoon we troll is one of the best lures to catch multiple species such as Cobia, sailfish, Tuna, kingfish, mackerel, dolphin (mahi-mahi) , bonito and wahoo. It can be a real fish magnet at times, while on the troll.

    Absolutely so, Haters and should be ignored! Just keep doing what you're doing! Great video, I fished offshore 20 years ago, had a boat in OC MD. Long story short, after being away from the Bluewater game for almost 20 years, will be going with a friend again this April in the Keys, , I needed a refresher, and your video was perfect! Now all I need is fish, Oh yeah and Brook is easy on the eyes too. Stay Safe!

      i used the planer once, not too much action, i fish in Barbados and do a lot of trolling, best results is a handline with an island jr lure with two 9/0 hooks, slide on a piece of ballyhoo or bonita strip and success, i can't say i gave it enough time to give a good review, i tend to go with i know what works but I'm sure ill try again in the future, thx Chinxus

    Hi Victor and Brook, my wife and I just recently moved to Florida and we find you two a very cute couple, and Brook, your parents are very sweet. Beautiful family.
    I’m starting to learn how to fish and I have caught a few sharks (blacktip and bonnetheads), 3”. I enjoyed this video and thank you for the tips. I’m going to try to catch wahoo and king fish. I leave close to Jacksonville, how far out do I have to catch wahoo or king fish?? I have 21’ cruiser boat.
    Cheers 🍻. Keep up your good work.

    2 thumbs up to you & Brook. Really enjoy your video’s & the knowledge you pass on to the fishing community. Can you give me a little more info about planners, I see each planner has a different number & size. Can you tell me what the number means ? Does it have to do with how deep they dive, & can you give me the number & depth of each planner ?
    Thanks

    It is interesting how in different parts of even this country things have different names for the same thing. I have used something very similar in the Pacific Northwest to take a lure / bait down to the fish zone , and its called a diver.. a planer is something very different .. as for bringing the line in by hand after your ( plainer ) , after all that's where the weight of the fish is , I really think you need a better way, that is what your rod is for.. just a thought ... nice vid though ..

  • @rayramirez9841
    @rayramirez9841 6 лет назад +1

    Would recommend a Bimini Knot to your swivel to the planer, it gives you a little more resilience by doubling up on your line. Just a thought...

I didn't know to put out that much leader after the planner. I usually would do 20 ft but, I can see where it would be better to have that much line out so you are away from the planner. thanks.

    Do your thing Viktor! Some folks must not understand that a lot of things play a role in offshore fishing like water temp, wind speed/direction and targeting what's in season. You have to get it while the getting is good! Lol.
    Side note: Do you like the tufline over the bullbuster?

    • @LandsharkOutdoors
      @LandsharkOutdoors  7 лет назад +2

      +f150on33s TUF line braid is my braid of choice. Bullbuster is my mono and fluorocarbon of choice. TUFline braid is better priced, offers more varieties and I do like the way it performs over Bullbuster. However bullbuster is still a great Braided line. I like to be open and honest, I can get Bullbuster braid for free but choose to pay for discounted TUFline.

    • @CNJ91
      @CNJ91 7 лет назад

      Landshark Fishing Thanks for the input! I'm trying to find a braid I like. I've been trying out J-braid but 40lb and Up wind knots bad so I was going to try bullbuster but I'll try the TUF line first.

    Getting ready to take a trip out your way and wanted to do some research before setting a date to go and was wondering if you can recommend any good time to fish coming up also if there is any areas or boat/guides that you would recommend I'm trying to fish for anything small to big i'm from New York City and moved to Tennessee I missed the salt water fishing so bad not going to have a real big window to fish just a couple days up in New York did a lot of beach fishing for stripers and bluefish and like everybody else I have finished Montauk North Shore South Shore of Long Island so I'm not a newcomer and aren't afraid putting in work to catch fish. (catching bait digging for sand-worms shucking clams etc.)
    So hit me up maybe I can bump into you while I'm there and would appreciate any knowledge. Thanks man

    There is a way to do the planer I personally like better. I run the planer on 250# off the back cleat. Wrap a #64 rubber band around the fishing line 50ft out. Then weave a paperclip to the band and the planer line. Let the line out and the clip slides down to the planer... no hand lining cause the fish breaks the band.

    One more thing I watched every single video you put out. I'm in search for finding a bay boat so I can do inshore and offshore fishing is there any tips are pointers you could give me while i'm searching for a boat.
