We ran into Bama Saltwater last week at J&M Tackle and he was the real deal. Extremely gracious, gave the kids some stickers, and an all around great guy. Keep doing what you love!!!!
I vote we teach Malik how to film and make him co-host of Bama Saltwater. Y’all have good energy. That and I’m boutta cross the MS/Bama line and come hook into some macks with you if you tempt me with another mackerel video like this, Steve!
I really enjoy ALL your videos,, But it's extra special when you & Malik fish together,, Because you guys have a great friendship & enjoy each others company.
Went to Belize a few months ago and caught some Cuda and a few small tuna. Our guide kept it all and cooked it for us that night, and though I was nervous about eating the Cuda, he turned it into a delicious Caribbean style curry! Sometimes you just gotta trust the locals!
I watched either South Florida Fishing or Florida Fishing Couple out with one of their friends they kept a cuda and made ceviche and it looked really good. Bluegabe was in Panama and they kept and ate cuda and so did Landshark definitely seems coming to keep in the central / South American people’s diets.
Always loved fishing the platforms in the Gulf. Nice day on the water for you fellas. As always i appreciate the content your're sharing. May your lines forever stay taught. 👍
so glad to have you on the gulf coast. i love seeing your videos and recognizing the scenery. glad to see you staying humble and gracious for the opportunity you have and thank you for providing such great content!!
@@robgover8341 Thanks for the feedback! I plan on making a video really soon Catching, Cleaning, and Cooking one since I haven't eaten one in a long time! Just looking for the right size !
Great job today Stephan. You brought back memories of Florida head boat trips where I caught a 5.5 pound Spanish and won a free fishing trip. At 14 in the 1960s that was a big deal. Thanks again for a great show!
Seeing that hammerhead reminded me of working on the Loop oil platform back in 2001 just after 9/11 wow did I see a lot of hammerheads in the water and occasionally a ray that looked like a house just sailing through the water real slow. Some of the guys would pull up huge red snapper with a hand line. Amazing time!!! I sure do miss the gulf.
Absolutly proud of Vets around the world...not easy after transitioning out fishing saved my life ..cool to see its saving yours too... God bless you for everything your doing for all of us....o and PS....ever fancy a trip out to the Coast of South Africa...I'll be honoured...God-fearing pure hearted people like you and your familly are always welcome. Good Job Capt.Steven
Wow... and the last video or two, I have been wanting to ask what the biggest Hammerhead you have seen. Just kind of crazy that I was thinking about it and then you get to see one! Thanks Steven! Hope the finger didn't need stiches!
Hey Steve, I encourage you to do some research on handling mackerel with bare hands. It can damage the fish's skin and cause it to die within two days. My brother and I fish as well and this is something we learned about a few years ago. Happy fishing!
Hey Bama Saltwater, loving your vids! When you tried to show us he hammer head shark I thought... man, it sure would be nice if he were to use a camera with a polarized filter... I bet it would allow us to see the fish approaching the boat on each catch too... maybe ... Keep up the nice work, gentleman!
Mannnnn I been watching for a while but I gotta say. I’m stoked when you upload ! I work in the oil field, and when I’m home I fish every chance I get. But I feel like I’m fishing through your videos while also learning !! Love it
i’ll be in gulf shores in two days i have a place down there always wanted to run into ya i fish all the same spots you do and go to the same bait shops been watching since the beginning brother keep up the hard work
Hey fellow fisherman Thank You sharing the experience again you never know what is on the line when you set the hook or what trust in faith can reward!
Great video Stephen. Especially love the cooking segments as i'm from South LA and love to cook! Many offshore trips out of Pecan Island in SW LA and catch same species as you especially big Kings, Cobia, and Snapper. On one trip we caught a ton of what we thought were juvenile kings but took pics and were informed by experts that they were actually "Cero" Mackerel. They look identical to what you caught early in this video, yellow spots and all. Great videos and great instruction!
I've never been this early to one of your vids and I'm glad I am because I wanted to say thank you for getting me and my family back into fishing. We're planning a trip to the gulf in a couple of weeks as a result! Keep up the good work.
Nice King's and Spanish! Never fished like that for either species. Always trolling spoons or skirted menhaden or cigar minnow rigs. Looks like a lot of fun!
Hey, love watching your videos and use some rigs you have used in your videos and it has helped me tremendously. I was trolling with my dad by those rigs and doubled on a two jacks over 20 pounds using stuff I have saw on your videos. Thank you sir.
Hey Steve. Have you ever done a rod and reel arsenal video? If so I can't find it on your library of videos. Thanks for the great content and positivity.
Epic day of fishing lots of action and some super calm seas and a beautiful barracuda I have actually eaten them caught from shore according to local regulations they are good eating, its an awesome fish built for speed and chopping fish in half if I would of been dehooking of cutting the wire I definitively would of been using both hands one to firmly pin his head against the floor and the other with the plier a half decent bite would call for stitches and more Epic series of videos
Been watching your videos a ton lately, i'm coming down to bama in two weeks, I was wondering what colored polarized sunglasses you would recommend for the surf around gulf shores
im comin down to bama to fish in a couple days what should i use this time of year surf fishing? i was gonna throw a spoon and was lookin to fish a little bit of live bait or somethin
It was awesome talking with you at the rig! Thanks for being so approachable and kind! The boys were thrilled to meet you!

Your my hero. Been down here all week from TN. Weather has not been friendly. But even a rainy day on the beach is a good day!!!
Thank you!!! and yes, it's been raining like crazy, but I fully agree!
Cigutera is actually pretty rare in our part of the Gulf. It is mostly generated from coral reefs and is far more common in the Caribbean.
Very true! I actually like eating the smaller Gugaunches
@@BamaSaltwater Cuda is pretty darn good! Like kings I’d stay away from the bigger ones.

Great fishing. Gotta love it.
I’d love to catch some of those Spanish Mackerel.
Thank you! I enjoy catching them and really like eating them fresh! Luckily, they can be caught by beach, pier, jetty, and boat !
Huge Spanish! Next to salmon, thats my favorite.
Awesome... and with the bonus hammerhead!
We saw a couple going out but that one was the bigger of the two. Really neat!

Thank ya!!!
Hey Steve. Have you ever done a rod and reel arsenal video? If so I can't find it on your library of videos. Thanks for the great content and positivity.
It’s in the works . Been waiting on a couple of reels to get out of the shop all year
I think I've fished that rig. We call it the triple rig. Didn't realize it was in Alabama. I fish out of Pascagoula,Ms. Love your channel.
I’m at the orange beach this week and we’re trying to catch some decent fish but with not much of a luck
Epic day of fishing lots of action and some super calm seas and a beautiful barracuda I have actually eaten them caught from shore according to local regulations they are good eating, its an awesome fish built for speed and chopping fish in half if I would of been dehooking of cutting the wire I definitively would of been using both hands one to firmly pin his head against the floor and the other with the plier a half decent bite would call for stitches and more Epic series of videos
good day of fishing good day good water all good an really good info..staysafe..
I'm to see all the little kings, the last few years have been really slow for kings on the north gulf coast of Florida.
It has been for sure! I am glad to see them thick too. Maybe the next few years will be better. Last really solid king mackerel year I had was 2015.
love how the tag end of the wire just falls onto the floor or the boat. i do the same with my used soft plastics lol
Hehe ikr. Easy to Clean up once back home
I like that tackle breakdown. Défi et l’y something to continue doing
For sure!! I'm happy to share!
It's always a good day when Steven uploads apologies if I spelled it wrong
Been watching your videos a ton lately, i'm coming down to bama in two weeks, I was wondering what colored polarized sunglasses you would recommend for the surf around gulf shores
You gotta target cobia soon! Loved that last video. It looked exhausting, so I get fishing for something else!
Yes !! They've been pretty thin in the gulf so far this year. I like catching them in the fall!
im comin down to bama to fish in a couple days what should i use this time of year surf fishing? i was gonna throw a spoon and was lookin to fish a little bit of live bait or somethin
Love the new channel banner sir
Thanks!!!! I do too.
I only used the 28lb wire for mercury fishing. I see Van Staals, can't hide money!
Can you please do some tarpon fishing ? I would love to see that !
