Painting an Old Refrigerator (Pt.1)

- We spray-painted an old refrigerator with rustoleum appliance epoxy! This was in our rental unit and nothing in the kitchen was bright white so this fridge stuck out like a sore thumb! A little appliance epoxy, painters tape, and time fixed this issue! You really have to trust the process on this one, I though we had made a big mistake when I first started painting! Check out PART 2 ( • Painting an Old Refrig... ) for the final results!

You don't know how much this video came in clutch. I convinced my fiance we can do this instead of buying one.
Woohoo! Just be prepared for overspray! If you can get the fridge outside it’s definitely ideal!
@@TayMarie23 Thank you so much
Even the before is so much better than my fridge currently 😆
This fridge was in a room with all back and cream appliances so having the white fridge stuck out soooo bad 😂 Made the cream appliances look old and dirty! Had to change it haha!
Thanks for sharing and good job! How many cans did you use to paint it?
Be sure to add a second layer of clear gloss coat .
What's clear gloss
perfeckt genau diesen Kühlschrank will ich auch andere Farbe machen genau so mach ich es auch wie auf den video
How many cans did you use?
Wow at the house;and
fridge work.
Thank you 😊
This video came in handy because I was going to buy me a black woven and refrigerator all I have to buy is this thank u
Of course! Just be cautious of overspray and it’s a rather easy process!
I bet but looks good
Great job
Thank you :)

What name is white botel
Hi! Where’s the 2nd video? I’d like to see the finish part, I’m thinking of painting mine in black too, although mine has some rusty parts
Linked in the description box :)
@@TayMarie23oh thank you for answering, I did not notice the link ,it was late 😂
WHERE IS PART TWO
Haha here it is 😂 ruclips.net/user/shorts71LHmzbINWk
Would sanding be necessary if I’m just touching up the paint on a fridge?
Sanding lightly is always a good idea, even if it’s just their small area you are touching up! But it’s not necessarily
The link for part 2 isn’t working
Try this :)

where did i buy this spray?
Any large home improvement store!
There's a brushed metal wrapping contact paper online today i tried with my old fridge
We considered the wrap but ended up doing this instead! How’d it come out for you?
@TayMarie23
The wrap is really good but a bit too Reflective
I just got excited too much and wrapped the whole fridge I should wrap the door only
And spray the back so it looks modern
But overall good
Would this work for stainless steel?
Like over stainless steel? I don’t see why you couldn’t, would just recommend reading the back of the van first! It might just recommend a metal primer first which you can get in a spray can as well!
Should have used the double size cans that spray heavier and wider
I think you are thinking of Rustoleum 2x? This is a different product, it’s appliance epoxy, I don’t believe they make a 2x version! Could be wrong though!
@TayMarie yeah the big cans are regular rustoleum just bigger and badder.
How many cans is needed
Depending on the fridge size 2-4, if I remember right I used 2.5 cans on this fridge
White was good
It was honestly fine, just didn’t have a single white appliance in the kitchen and it looked really out of place!
This is what I'm confused about is epoxy just a spray paint can someone tell me please-
To be completely honest I think Rustoleum uses the word “epoxy” a little incorrectly here. Every “epoxy” I have ever used has always been two parts (one part resin and one part hardener) that you have to mix together. So I believe this is more of a hard enamel in a spray paint can. Don’t take my word for it, but I think they use the word epoxy more-so as a market ploy. But whatever is in that can works great lol!
Hope that sort of answers your question:)
Why black ?
It was the only white applicant in a cream and black kitchen, stuck out like a sore thumb!

@@TayMarie23 gracias! Thank you!
@@TayMarie23 how and where can i buy this spray?
No wonder nobody watches these 😂
What? This is super cool!
I think she may be referring to me not squeezing in the final product into the first video! It was so hard to get what I did in 60 seconds, so a second video was just needed! I know it can be annoying, but that’s just how it goes when you are trying to squeeze a 2 day project into 60 seconds lol!
@Naturally Looney happy you think it was cool! It was a fun process and I think our future tenants for this unit will appreciate the little update :) Cheers!
How many cans did you use 🤔
Wear goggles or go blind
I have all my safety equipment now! Thank you 😊
How many cans did you use?
This was a while ago, check the other comments because I have definitely answered this question a bunch of times! I want to say 2 cans if I remember right, and maybes a 1/4 of a 3rd can!
Thank you
