My FIRST Custom Wood Sign Commission
Today we will be tackling my first ever custom wood sign commission! As a three dimensional chainsaw carver, this projects was entirely different for me! It was carved 100% free hand, no CNC nor routers used as I don't own either at this time. This project came with many challenges and the heat wave didn't help, but I am rather proud of the final product! This sign represents a lot to the family it was carved for and I hope they enjoy it for many years to come!
Also a shout out to the company GRAFF for allowing me to try one of their many carving products, I was pleasantly surprised with its handling and performance as well as the products reasonable price tag. Thank you GRAFF, I look for...

Today we are turning a big old white pine log into a snapping turtle! Due to a change in the clients timeline, I started this project around mid winter and didn't finish it until this spring! This turtle will be presented by the client as a gift to some close friends of hers who have a meaningful story behind the snapping turtle. More content coming soon! ~SOCIALS~ Instagram: taym...
Turning Wood into a Great Grey

Today we will be turning some laminated wooden beams into a great grey owl! This is one of my new favorite birds of prey, they are just epic creatures! I used titebond III for the lamination along with some 1/2" dowels for added support. There are several more owls on order so I apologize if the owl videos are getting old lol! I will be working on the Pennsylvania chainsaw carving event and com...

    Wow...absolutely stellar! I have a snowy owl I will be starting soon. Stand up wings down to its sides.. I never did one this size. But had a 26 inch tall 10 inch around bass wood that I had cut for me. I did some research on the Snowy Owls. This will be my first as well. I normally do smaller wood carvings... Started 3 years ago, and after I retired. This really inspires me...and your attention to detail, is impeccable.. Keep going, and creating.. Mellanie from Pennsylvania

    I just started carving recently and i mainly do it cause i love playing with my chainsaws. At what point did you start to bring in other tools? im hesitant to buy a battery die grinder. I just like to carve with the chainsaw and hardly ever paint them. but that could be my adhd

    Sooogood! You really made it come to life. And that's your first sign done like that? You are so talented. You have inspired me to start chainsaw carving. Nothing I have done looks very good yet but I'm getting better slowly. You make it look so easy. You definitely have been blessed with a gift. Thanks for sharing this with us.

    IS YOUR OREGON ELECTRIC SAW 14" OR 18" ? YOUR BAR IS A " CANNON CARVER " 1/4 TIP, WHAT IS MODEL# IF I ORDER ONE?? THANK YOU (SO TALENTED, LOVE VIDEO)

    • @TayMarie23
      @TayMarie23 12 дней назад

      Hi! I don't use the Oregon saw all that much anymore, been sticking with gas! But I have the Cs1500 which is the 18". I was having some issues with my 12" dime tip over heating on it but the 14" quarter tip I have does okay on it. My go to saw bar combo right now is a cheap Sthil ms170 with a 12" mini roller which you can get for $32 at ACE hardware

    One more question, did you you or should a person tape or do any prep on the joints of the plywood subfloor so they don’t appear in vinyl flooring later

    LOVE YOUR VIDEO CHAINSAW CARVINGS. AWESOME / SOOOOOOOOO TALENTED. TAY COULD YOU TELL ME WHICH OREGON ELECTRIC SAW TO PURCHASE ( 14 INCH, 16 INCH OR 18 INCH? ?? YOURS IN THIS VIDEO LOOKS LIKE 18"? ALSO, BEING SOMEWHAT NEW TO CHAINSAWS, DO YOU HAVE TROUBLE WITH "KICKBACK" WHEN YOU BLOCK CUT AND PARTICULLY WHEN YOU PERFORM HAIR / FUR ON BEARS? IF THIS SAW WORKS FOR YOU AND KICKBACK IS SAFE I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOUR FEEDBACK. ALSO, SHOULD I REPLACE THE STOCK BAR WITH THE "CANNON CARVER BAR "Length? Pitch- dime quarter? TO REDUCE KICKBACK ????? THANKS
