My wife and I just both quit our jobs, sold our house and are now travelling around Europe with our 8 month old daughter for 6+ months in a 22 year old motorhome we bought off ebay. You know what, we have never been happier. It's much nicer to be free than be a sheep. In my opinion anyway.

I did the same as you pal..lived all over the UK and ended up in Spain 2002..still lived in my van all in all 6yrs..hope you can continue to enjoy..just look after your health as that's the real wealth in life..🍎🍎🍎

I'm doing something very similar myself.
Except I'm a few years older, have a slightly bigger van and am travelling with my wife and daughter.

I definitely feel you with being bored of everyday life and the grind.
When I use to drive all over the country as a van driver, I use to so enjoy pulling up at a lay-by or rest area. Get the pan out and have some eggs or sausages for a sandwich. Then continue on my journey...I still drive a van for work, but don't get time to stop and start cooking due to the nature of my job..
The cooking part of these videos are the best by far... keep it up

I once did this in a clio for eight-weeks. The first week was spent obsessing and moving a lot of shit around - followed by endless reorganising. By week eight, I had hit legendary status and had dialled in the system with military precision. Loved waking up on the river at sunrise.

I bought an old Ford Lazer ( little bigger than a Fiesta) when in NZ in 1997. Lived in it , went everywhere in it. Halfway up mountains and along dried up riverbeds. Had to tie part of the carb on with string in Queenstown and drive into a ditch to change the wheel because didnt have a jack. Great times...miss that old motor.
Yeah boi, the old new zealand for lazer, hell of a car, they just don't die! I've just got back from queenstown my self, now up in Dunedin for a little bit, dont have a lazer though, i got a Toyota caldina instead, just cos it had the roof rails built in, and the ready made factory, floor dividers, under the boot carpet!

When camping I washed my self in the river Annan it was bloody cold but so refreshing when I came out it felt warm I had a shelf on an old tree to put my soap etc it was in the 1990,s I’m 56 now and go to bed and breakfasts nice vido

I Lived in Australia for a long time. Working and travelling but never got to see any of it because of my job. (Touring Chef and Roadie) I then ended up static in Tasmania for 10 years before getting a real hankering for the road again. I bought a van and set off with my two dogs for three months.. three years later I was still going, dogs n all. We saw the whole country and then some. By the time I sold my van to come back to the UK I had a full off grid home with a gourmet kitchen in the back.. it's an evolution mate.. There's always a way to make it 'better' Watching your evolution from Vanlifer to Road Warrior is giving me itchy feet again.

Btw you can rig that stove to work with different size cannisters, just remove the regulator and sparker and attach hose with a different adapter attached for chosen gas cannister, voila

Great idea to open the back doors and put a cover on the doors for a shower. Simple but effective.
Yes lad, I did the same as you with my bed in my van, them legs get more diagonal as time goes on. One day it'll just snap off haha. Get more bracing on it.

Mate the world is your oyster. My mate had the same set up good few year back planned to drive to london be back in a week or 2. Didnt see him for months managed get to spain french alps etc. Times will be hard. But if it's not life threatening then don't worry your good. And the story will be something else later down the line. Don't know you but good luck and god bless

I’ve always wanted to do this too man. I’ve kid though so have to wait until they all grown up. Me and the mrs contemplated buying a camper van but I think I’d prefer to transform a transit or something like. Much more of an adventure!

Best off luck. I have made short trips up to a week or so, around the bush in Oz, with a set up like yours but it is not practical for long term living. But you will learn from experience.

Good luck bro/if u still on the rd all services usually have free showers for truckers,/a leisure battery and inverter will give u eletric u can plug into and charge shit up etc,get a set of jump leads clip onto your main van battery ,then onto your leiesure battery slight rev will re charge in an hour.

I’m 30 and seriously considering doing this. I’ve worked the 9-5 for the past 12 years and have savings which I intend to use as a deposit for my first house. But I’m so done with wage slavery. I don’t want to get trapped in that work, sleep, work, sleep routine.

Love watching this adventure and wish I could do it myself! Some of us can but aren't brave enough I guess! Lots of great places to see within the UK. I didn't realise that there were 'unofficial' camping sites, I've downloaded that app to use on my own camping travels. Will you get tempted to have an odd night in a travelodge along the way?!
