Audit The Audit hey can you make a video covering things you should know about nyc like stop an search laws and other things you should know if you have an interaction with police can i deny giving my ID if I’m not suspected of a crime ? Please make a video that takes place in nyc and cover some of these things
Audit The Audit i have a suggestion. The way you narrate law it will be a great idea if you move around with videos educating the police force in US since the top guys don't have time or don't wanna watch all these videos and use them for further training purpose.
Big Steve then thats a big problem because a lot of people are killed or jailed for no reason.
Being a government work doesn't give you the immunity of not being harassed or killed by the same police. Example Tatiana was killed and the police officer didn't even have time to seen her.
I'm not sure if I'm blind or do you just show "blue man bad"? And not the "right and wrong" of police interactions? 🤔🤔🤔
Never take off your seatbelt. Never. I’m wearing mine now. In the bathroom. On the second floor.
I have a shirt that looks like i'm wearing a seatbelt.
Good shit bro

You got me! That’s some funny shit!😂
most of these guys aren’t even misinformed they’re just clearly lying
Or they're ignorant about the laws they are supposed to be enforcing. They're dumb and misinformed or they're straight up lying.
Gdess 2001 I was told by a cop that knowing the law is MY job and an attorneys job, not his! I was arrested for having my husbands prescription in my possession ( in my purse ) after I picked it up from CVS...it was literally still in the bag it came in. I have never even gotten a speeding ticket!
@@Just-Nikki they're bullies with guns and power. If they dont like the way you talk to them or look at them they decide that you've broken some made up law. The whole institution needs to me dismantled and replaced with a system that Actually protects people and makes the world better.
Gdess 2001 absolutely agree with this 👌🏼
This is why you always take officers to court and have them admit they weren't lying. Then show the video in an appeal.
That first cop had my blood boiling. The lady says it’s “my car” and then later on he keeps trying to make it seem like just because it’s not her daily driver that it’s not her car. Her family owns a dealership which owns the car. How is that hard to understand. She doesn’t need it to be her daily driver for it to be her “her car.”
It's like looking for buzzwords to trip up on. Silly semantics. She could have said this my business car because I own the business and business owns this car. But she isn't required to say such a word jumble and the cop needs to ascertain that.
To be fair, she did say her husband owns the car dealership/car. She didn’t say she did it owned it jointly. But, as pointed out, this doesn’t matter.

He literally lied to her face, on video. How can he ever be trusted to work on the force and provide accurate reports. Fire him.
The sad part is that this is just 5 minutes of his day. This is his usual routine, and it’s extremely unfortunate that these are the type of people that hold power over us.
Most aren’t as lucky as her and don’t get off Scott free.
Cops lie. All the time. Keep quiet. Don’t give them the opportunity. It’s hard to do in the moment, when you’re feeling a bit rattled, but cops are certainly not interested in your story, explanation, or excuse. Just give them your license, registration and insurance. Then stay silent. If the situation is more serious than a traffic stop, ask for a lawyer. “I want to speak to an attorney,” should be the first and only words you utter.
Literally had a cop stop me once on the way to the gym, I was walking with a mesh bookbag on, and all that was in it was a towel, water, and a couple snacks, I lived in a small community where everyone knew each other and a lot of my friends knew that this cop planted drugs on people, I refused to let him search me because of this. Thankfully, the confrontation lasted only about 5 minutes, and he left me alone, without a search, but he claimed he "smelled something" claiming he smelled drugs, interestingly enough, with how far apart we were standing, even if I HAD drugs, I highly doubt he could have smelled them...
@@petereastwood7868 i never stay silent during a stop
There could be a possibility of him being blinded by light and not seeing correctly so maybe he believed she didn’t have one. That would be my only guess as to why he’d even think of pulling her over, otherwise he’s just being a dick and tried to cover his steps
Headlight officer isn't misinformed. He's dishonest.

And yet his yellow lights are dangerous and stupid

Aw man. This lady is so sweet she doesn't even get mad. She SHOULD have been angry. That was an illegal stop. There was no probably cause to pull her over. Also she was correct: it IS her car! Her husband owns it via the dealership. Since they're married, it's HER CAR TOO! I love how she basically chased him off with the dashcam. I'm totally getting one. Cop just wanted to interact with the pretty blonde lady and ran away when he suddenly got caught exceeding his authority. Actually, who knows what his intentions were? Glad she had that dashcam. Might have saved her a lot of problems.
NEVER GET MAD! You ALWAYS stay calm & respectful no matter how a cop playing "bad cop" may try to goad you into anger. That can be seen as resisting an officer in the furtherance of his duties & you'll get a free ride down to the station house.
That’s exactly right. Just wanted to talk to a hot blonde and then go rub his boner on his steering wheel. Fuckin pervert.
That gentleman handled this so wisely. He mentioned his past citations over and over, while the officer trying hard to find an ordinance that doesn’t exist.

I actually heard a police officer say how Dash Cams and cameras on phones have ruined his job. I genuinely couldn't believe the audacity.
Good I love making their jobs harder.
I once asked a cop his opinion on body cams. He said he didn't like the idea of them (Davie Florida PD still does not have them to this day.) because it limits their discretion.
His example was "If I pulled the mayor over for drunk driver, I would be forced to arrest him." I kind of just stared at him dumbstruck. That's a real shitty example to come up with.

When I was a kid, I chose not to become a police officer because I thought you had to memorize all of the laws. I was sorely mistaken.
A bit misguided, but you arrived at the right conclusion!
My sister became a cop down in Florida. She quit within a year because the general attitude was “so depraved she felt she was losing her humanity”.
And given how she still talked about some things, she already lost some and didn’t even realize it.
She told me of a mentally ill person in an abandoned warehouse. She talked about how “well he wanted suicide by cop so he got it.” And the guy never said anything of the sort. They *went in* with a dozen cops, gun drawn. With no knowledge of anything other than, “a possible squatter in an abandoned warehouse”.
When I brought up bringing only one cop and maybe EMT or a crisis intervention team, her response was, “for a fucking hobo?”
She continued to defend all decisions when I questioned them. But she does acknowledge maybe my complaints about law enforcement in general may have actually been valid all these years.

Pain in the ass but its what you gotta do. I can see with all the cameras in cars these days officers will start looking at the footage in cases like this.

I didn't tell him about my dash cam at the time, nor did the Prosecutor's ask. When we went to court, Prosecutor's put him on the stand, my attorneys didn't cross, but reserved the right to bring him back later, fairly common practice. When my attorneys brought him back, they introduced the tape while he was on the stand. within a few minutes, Prosection motioned to drop the charges, but the Judge ruled to find me not guilty instead.
Now, Prosecutor's no longer put the Officer on the stand, as EVERY time that officer writes a ticket, Defence attorneys bring that tape and that police report into evidence. The cops 'Word' cannot be trusted.

Not a chance. He had every right to pull her over and give her a ticket even though he didn’t. Unfortunately her size makes the seatbelt not very visible to passers by. Couple that with him walking up and she doesn’t have one on and he has every right to be suspicious. Media my man. You saw her from the get go with a seatbelt on. I don't expect a police officer to know every law but how can multiple traffic officers not know basic things
Your videos are preparing me when I move to the US :) Thank you.
The fact this is a genuine statement is so disturbing
That cop is physically incapable of saying "My bad, you're right. Now I know. Have a good night."
I tell people this all of the time. The police arnt the cool guys anymore because they can’t simply say “damn this looks bad, we fxcked up”

I know right. The guy had the documents, just admit your misunderstanding of that traffic law, that you make mistakes too and you will pass it on in shift briefings to the department. It's obvious there is some misconception on this particular law, so it's a quick fix with training department notes.
That cop is dishonest and a liar. He should be fired. Plain and simple.

@@ainsley1114 yep I used to be one. Morally I had to eventually leave the profession because of what I saw in fellow officers and the status quo. It was always "us against them" mentality that bothered me greatly. I always was proud of the profession in general but the things I saw bothered my conscience so much because when you are a good cop who believes in service of the people while many others looked at it like "us against them" instead of service, it really wears on you.
Maybe I just got unlucky and hopefully it's not like that elsewhere, but for me I couldn't keep doing it. If I was to speak up and effect some change, I believed if I did so I would probably get jammed up and labeled a trouble maker which I believe could have put me in danger.

@@brianneary799 yeah in fact I think firefighters should use gasoline instead of water.
Same laws apply in North Carolina. I’m also a car dealer. You, and family are allowed to drive on dealer tags. This is always a problem when we do get pulled over. Even if we pull our sales licenses out, it’s always a bigger deal than it had to be. I have the laws, and statutes saved in my phone now. The cars are hers. They are owned by the business which is owned by her, and her husbands. We drive cars all the time to make sure they are ok, and to see what’s wrong with them, or to go on trips to auctions, look for repos. We drive them to the grocery store, lunch. It doesn’t matter what you’re doing if you’re permitted to do so. I just wish that cops understood the laws that they are trying to enforce. How are they allowed to enforce laws they know nothing about? Is that why they really have laptops in their cars, so they can google what they suspect is some kind of violation?
"Ignorance of the law will not constitute grounds for punishment" ... I never heard a judge say that to a citizen.

Soooo.... instead of actually trying to stop crimes that are affecting other ppl, this guy is worried about yellow lights?? I swear some ppl don’t deserve to be cops🙄
Bored cops trying to bring in that revenue to feed the system..
Depends how yellow. It IS important to keep lights consistent, otherwise you will have idiots going around with red and blue lights making it look like they are ambulances or police cars.
The reason lights can be white OR yellow is likely because of how wide the range of "white" can be, some ranging to light yellow.
If you have shiny banana color yellow lights that is likely not what was intended by the law, and it could cause confusion and/or traffic accidents (Warning lights are usually yellow).
@@benjamindeh873 True but the handbook says white or yellow, no specification for how yellow they can be. You made good points but since it never specifies the specific type of yellow he’s not doing anything illegal.
@@cherrychris5068 Illegal? Not
Dumb/Potentially dangerous? Depends on how yellow I guess, we didnt see it. The answer could be yes or no.
Remember a lot of warning and traffic lights are yellow, so yeah it would be good to specify the range of yellow i n the law, but then it will be worse for cops because they will need measuring instruments for ranges of color.
Honestly law assumes a certain level of personal and civil responsibility, and sadly some morons ruin it.
Probably the law should stay as it is, and if this guy has lights that could be dangerous, and that constantly attract attention to him....well...He should get used to be stopped by police and hopefully see its not worth it.
Why else would you want different color lights in your car other than to get attention?
@@benjamindeh873 True true, if he honestly didn't want the attention he's getting from the polices he would just change his lights.
Fun fact about headlights, only recently have headlights been white. The lights on cars used to be yellow before white lights became a thing. Add into that the fact he was pointing out CA law allows his headlights to be both yellow and white. Yellow lights are also easier to see in the rain as proven in many tests done by Ford and Toyota.

out of the officer. Why can’t the officer swallow his pride, he is wrong according to what the guy produced and read out loud. Go away little man. The badge doesn’t make you correct 100% of the time. Go do your job, which is not harassing people. He is virtually saying the judge’s ruling didn’t matter. I believe the judge trumps the police officer. They will keep harassing this man, until he puts a stop to it. Make the law accountable.
Your comment is stupid. Did no one ever told you to watch yourself, no matter that you already are doing it? It is pretty normal thing to say. Watch your speed is pretty normal thing to say, I don't get how you did not notice it, at least in movies

Federal vehicle lighting laws are actually some of the most complex regulations for vehicles, about 700 pages.
One confusing thing with vehicle lighting in USA is the distinction between Federal and State law.
For instance, under FMVSS 108 a manufacturer/dealer/repair shop may not alter the exterior lighting in any way that prevents compliance with the federal regulations. Otherwise NHTSA will come after them.
But the owner is free to do so, but is subject to state vehicle code, which is the job of officers to enforce.
An example of this is pulsing third brake lamps. State vehicle code may allow it, but federal regulations prevent it so the manufacturer can’t offer it standard.
I wonder if the officer similarly got confused between state and federal law.
