    thank you for your explanation I find the concept much clearer now, however, how would u differentiate between a person who has normal hearing and one who has bilateral symmetrical sensorineural hearing loss since both will have a positive Rinne test and no lateralization of the Weber test?

      It's mainly there to keep you informed that the Rinne test doesn't tell you much about sensorineural hearing loss as opposed to the Weber test.
