    Beautiful car and just my kind of quirky. I knew Chrysler would build a stripped C-body but I’ve never seen one. And I couldn’t imagine one had survived. I’m sorry this happened. Thanks for the video. I’d happily buy her but I don’t have the means to do her Justice. Good luck and I hope whoever buys her will post up the experience.

    So many rebuild efforts efforts end badly these days. Many areas no longer have machine shops of any kind, questionable bearings etc. from "our friends in the East". I only install used engines anymore and hope for the best. Sad event, I've been there I'm sure you will find a buyer.

    Mr Shed, I am almost crying, if I wasn't thousands of miles away in England I would give Mickey all the love he needs. 😢 a four door Fury may be unloved in the US, but I would fight off everyone here to get one. Please don't banish him to the killing fields 😮

    How strange that I just watched all of your videos about this car 2 days ago & I turn my computer on to this news this morning. There is no doubt you'll have no trouble selling this car although what you get for it vs what you have into it won't match up. What ever you do please don't kill that car.

    I hate to hear this about Mickey. I had the same thing happen in my old tool truck coming down 270 South bound , oil light came on , go back out but , as I was headed home I pushed it , 3rd to 1st going up 23 exit then she stopped , locked up. Turns out lost cam bearing then snapped cam in three.
    I hope someone takes her home , I hate to see then sitting around rusting ,,,, You seen mine ! Some Great advise !

    Watching from Rhode island-Bro! STOP! We can all see the appreciation you have for this prehistoric beast-from your dad/growing up time-to the era-I have experience at engine rebuilding-and the MOPAR stuff in particular-I'm gonna go so far as to say-something-wasn't done-just right with the build-give it another go-and just-DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME! QUILTSS!!??😳

      I know I messed up putting the cam bearings in, but I can’t keep throwing money at it. I have a ridiculous amount of cash in this as it is.
      Everyone wants me to keep at it. I’m no hero, I tried to sell it before this happened and not one person showed any interest. Any more effort would just dig me deeper in the hole. Let the next guy be the hero. I’ve come to the last page and now it’s time to close the book.

      Thanks for watching, unfortunately in 2023 junkyards in my area don’t have engines that haven’t been produced in 30 plus years. If they do, they aren’t ready to drop in by a long shot.
      I’m waiting on the next guy but, as of right now, no one has stepped up to the plate.
      Anyway, thanks for commenting and stay tuned!

    Please don’t abandon this car out side or any ware for that matter. It is so beautiful and in such good condition, except for the engine of course. Think of the great memories with your dad this car can bring back and how much more life he has in him. Take a little time and get the motor fixed. Once it is running again I bet you won’t even remember this happened. Many happy miles and memories ahead for you an Mickey.

    Bummer!! I have been through it all myself. Had a Cloyes 383 timing gear stamped wrong, retarding the timing and causing me a lot of hardache figuring it out. Had a '92 D150 Magnum 5.9 swap/build that I had been driving for 5-6yrs and I let it sit for a year while I was going through some serious health issues (left kidney left the chat), and reanimated it to help a girlfriend pick up a couch 30mi away. It ran fine until we got to the destination and I noticed it was running hot (gauge). Heard it bubbling in the reservoir but not flooding the ground. Got loaded, after leaving the hood up and spraying the radiator down with a water hose and refilling it. On the way back it overheated again, so I had to stop every 4-5mi to cool it down. Halfway back, I stopped at an Ace Hardware and let the GF do some shopping while I removed the thermostat and checked for water pump operation (plenty of flow!!). Turns out the radiator plugged while sitting that year, full of coolant. Then 6mo later (winter), the same truck dropped a valve on the drivers side, the morning after driving me 100mi round trip to see "Ford vs Ferrari" with a friend. I had self-aligning Crower stainless ($$$) rockers on it, and I guess the valve must have stuck in the guide for some reason, allowing the rocker to unkey that valve. No piston damage, so I replaced both heads with some fresh ones I had waiting in the wings for another project, and also the lifters, which had an intermittently bad one since I built the motor (another raw deal) with MoPar Performance brand new production lifters. Now my lifter problem was cured (YAY!!) and it was back running great again. Then I went on a day-trip to go get a 413 industrial block about 100mi from me, and halfway there, it dropped another valve on the passenger side. I grounded that plug wire and made my trip on 7cyl, parked the truck and since then the fuel pump has died. I am really torn about it's fate. Put a built 360 in my '68 Dart with a rowdy solid flat tappet cam, and was breaking the cam in when I saw a huge rear main seal leak (I thought). Guessing that I might have put the seal in backwards or something, continued my cam break-in and immediately (with the engine/trans SMOKING hot) started to pull the transmission. Got it out (headers!!!) and removed the B&M flexplate to find the machine shop had put the oil galley plugs in with thread tape but not tight enough. Redid that and was good-to-go, but damn what a pain!!

    Well, that’s too bad about your 1970 Plymouth Fury. I sure hope you either reconsider fixing it, or sell it to somebody who WON’T derby it! I’m way up here close to Seattle, so I can’t buy Mickey from you. The gentleman from Columbia, South Carolina sounds like he wants it; if he buys it I hope he “does it right” for Mickey’s sake. Sorry to hear the slant 6 let you down. It is a nice car. Maybe if it does not sell, you will feel motivated down the line to get it back on the road. Perhaps you can pick up a Magnum small block for chump change, perhaps in a running 90s Jeep or pickup. Or maybe you will find another slant 6. I feel for you that you had a bit of change in the slant 6 that went bad.

    • @70Kenny
      @70Kenny 10 месяцев назад

      I had the same model and year in a two door in the early ‘90’s. It had the 318 V8, which was adequate power for such a big car, but nothing from a performance standpoint. I was surprised when a junkyard operator told me that the 318 wasn’t the smallest engine offered in the 70 Fury, and that he’d “gone through” a few with the Slant 6. If I bought Mickey, I’d probably put in a 318. I know, not original, but adequate power.
