Half Life 2 / Gmod How to make a Strider use its warp cannon!

The Warp Cannon , it is by far the most dangerous weapon of the Strider , this is not impaling or pulse weaponry we are talking about , we are talking about vaporizing weaponry. It uses focused energy to fire and bends a small area behind when it is charging. Credit to blazing storm for how to use this command.

I wonder why they're so reluctant to use it. Maybe it has to be controlled and ordered by an operator somewhere else?
Game play wise it's so they didn't curbstomp everyone

Yeah they have to have a script in place for them to use it so they rarely do use it in game. I think it'd be cool to see it used more though.

Michael Cranston I meant in universe for the first explanation. The combine probably didn't want to risk striders going against them

​@@chistinelane The weapon is extremely powerful and causes a lot of damage, in addition to requiring precise aim. Usage of the Warp Cannon probably requires certain authorization or environmental conditions to be met (the one that fights Dog activates its cannon on its own). Friendly fire is definitely a concern, and the ones in the Citadel could cause a large amount of damage to the structure or the platforms they themselves are standing on.

@@xshullaw Makes sense actually - there might also be a concern for power, considering that the only circumstances they really use it are for demolition - the risk of missing and wasting precious energy on it *seems* to be a running theme
(Episode two, where they have to get real close to the silo in order to use the beam)

Part of the effect is concealed to better show off the lensing effect around the weapon as it charges.
