I decided to leave my unhealthy friendships behind a few years ago and have yet to make new close friendships. I currently have a lot of good teachers and mentors where I'm studying, healthy work-friendships, a caring boyfriend, and a good relationship with my child. Sometimes I feel a bit lonely but, overall, I'm okay with where I'm at.
I appreciate you sharing this video. It helped me to think about the people in my life I do have.

I believe I am on a spiritual journey. However when I talk about it.. What friends I have think I am crazy. They dont want anything to do with it. My husband is a lay minister of religion and he doesnt like what I talk about. He doesn't see what I see. I have read Eckhart Tolle's books over and over. I am learning about present and ego. I don't know where I would find new friends. My family all think I am weird. They don't want to listen to me. So for now I am content to be alone spiritually. I am content to work on myself. I am the only one I can control

Yes, I know how it is. I am in just the same situation my husband, he does not take my efforts seriously. However, I do belong to a church. And although I don’t believe everything how it says, I am a follower of Eckhart Tolle as well, I have some spiritual friendships. I don’t share many of my feelings, or the details of my beliefs, but they are friends for me and they care about me and I care about them. I also find, that writing here on RUclips and reading the messages, that serves some of the purpose.

Same here, I def get the crazy feeling if I mention anything like mediation or self awareness. It’s very discouraging and can be even harder sometimes to keep going. When I do feel that way I remind myself I’m not doing this for anyone except me. Wishing you all the best on your journey and stay beautiful ❤

    • @tempesnyder6243
      @tempesnyder6243 Год назад +4

I believe, that perhaps you may want to find a church. Find a Christian church or a Buddhist one that is open minded. I am Catholic, not too many people are open minded. Then also I make a habit of listening To Eckhart tool, I have a CD of a few of his talks and his power of now, I make a habit of listening to him every single day no matter what. I have power of now on in my car, and I listen to it no matter what, wherever I go. I have made a commitment to myself not to enjoy the radio or listen to other CDs while I am driving. Also, every single day I listen to a talk by venerable Nick or ET or somebody else on RUclips with that type of spiritual talk. Also, I spend all day, every single day, doing my very best to follow Eckhart Tolle’s teachings. I am as close to always present as I can be. I avoid ever talking to myself. That inner blab, it is unnecessary.

I am 37, and just starting to become self aware. I am grateful for good friends. Your second point about finding mentors, elders has really been true for me. My mother has passed on, and my Father is quite senile now. It is challenging to feel the urge for a mentor, but not know where to turn. I miss the presence of elders, and want to make a change to have some in my life , but where do I find them?
It may be the reason I am a subscriber here. I have authors and their books to some extent, but it isn't a dialogue. It isn't the embrace of loving kindness in the physical world.
Where do we find them, as adults?

What has helped me is this: Approach every platonic relationship as an opportunity to mentor or be mentored by example and by advice when solicited. I have had 5 serious life mentors and they all found me, not the other way around. Respect the advice of others and try not to be judgmental.

Thank you so much! I have saved this video to replay as some times I just loose the new path I have chosen and this will help to guide me back. I sometimes feel overwhelmed when I become derailed as I begin to focus on trying to fix everything in one go . This video will help me to slow things down and look at sections rather then the whole. I am blessed with a wonderful counsellor who has held my hand along my new path for the last three years. I have sadly lost friends and family along the way because of the new journey I have chosen and the is definitely some grief and sadness with this but being removed from these relationship has been a huge release. I am blessed to have God in my life. I am blessed that my husband has seen the work I have done and has chosen to walk the same path and find his peace too. Unfortunately as of yet I have not found friendships that feel safe and true but I am hopeful and trust in my journey that I will one day meet them. Thank you nick 🙏❤

Vandami 🙏 You are very fortunate to be in monastery. Thanks for taking efforts for us to make such good video..There is strong established support system. Here in world of lay people, there is no such system. In today's self centered & over diplomatic world, it's difficult to get good supportive friends. One need to depend upon self. Atta hi attano natho. I am not aware about others. But my strong support system in Dhamma books, vipassana meditation, Mahabodhi Society all monasteries in India..whose all programs I attend online as it's very far to go there always. In my city or near my city there is no monastery or Buddhist temple. So i attend maximum online programs & dhamma discourse. Thrice in a year go for 10 days meditation retreat where we just meditate whole day. Morning & evening one hour each meditation..These helped me a lot. I am very thankful to it & express my gratitude towards all these.. Apart from these being clinical psychologist & mental health counsellor helps me a lot too..Namo Buddhay 🙏💐 with lots of love & Metta to everyone to develop in right way.

Your videos are fantastic, Nick. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. Eckhart Tolle woke up a lot of people. I’ve also read both of his books and listen to his videos on RUclips. However, in the USA, 99.99% of the people are in the state of insanity which Eckhart describes very clearly. So that leaves the .01% of people on a spiritual journey very isolated. We have RUclips to watch you and Eckhart or Mooji…a person may literally have to do exactly what you’ve done in order to find the friends you are telling us to find. Otherwise we’re on our own watching Nick on RUclips. I’m also born and raised in California.

    Hi Nick,
First let me say thank you and that I love you! Everything you say is said so well and profoundly deep.
This is what bothers me the most as an INFJ-T, HSP, empath PLUS Cancer ♋️....humanity!
This world is so very messed up! It breaks my heart! I am trying so hard to not watch any news or read any news. I feel lost, anxious and scared knowing what is going on AND not knowing what is going.
Having my traits is a blessing and a curse.
As soon as I wake up my mind say "Hello!" and doesn't turn off until I fall asleep. I am always having a conversation with myself in my brain
I will admit I have to drug myself to turn my brain off.
I at 59 have had one heck of a very stressful life however no matter what I am grateful for my blessings and always have a smile on my face and in my heart IF I am not anxious or crying. There is no in-between for me.
Anyway. I admire you so much and I respect you even more!
So far I haven't heard you address the issue of how to live a happy healthy good fun life when we as a nation - here in America - are completely destroying it ALONG with the rest of the world....honestly I KNOW it is only going to get worse.
I will take your advice, pray, and vote!
Thank you so much for you being YOU!!
    🌷🙏🥰❤️‍🩹💪🙌 ✌️ ✌️

G'evening Venerable Nick, you seem to be doing well. I only have music 🎵🎶 and meditation. I should be journaling. I don't trust anyone, not even my family or my beau... buuuuuuut they can trust me tho. You are my mentor Venerable Nick.
My grandmother is my model, she was OG (gangsta). She always gave me great advice and I truly miss her. Sometimes I can hear her voice and sometimes corrects me

Thank you Nick😊. My support system is my Ju Jitsu club and boxing🥊🥋. IMO to become a good martial artist takes discipline, hard work mentally and physically, eating healthy foods, abstaining from drugs, alcohol and tobacco, having good role models and destroying my ego. Is this perhaps a spiritual journey?

The spiritual path is never easy because it's like being in a flowing river with us swimming against the current.
The moment that we cease our effort, the torrent immediately takes us.
Fortunately, this river hasn't the same magnitude of force everyday but it's still a river. May we never forget that.

"Look at who are not good friends"- Yes! My advice is prune them before circumstances force you to do so. It's less painful that way. The one positive about the painful pruning is that your new wisdom has taught you what not to do in the future.
