What are some moments in your life that you can "time capsule"? Timestamp 0:00 Intro 4:06 Why we lose our way 5:52 Story 1 (Ordination Day) 9:36 Story 2 (Writing books) 12:32 Time Capsule 15:39 Positive moments 16:54 Crisis moments 18:11 Mundane moments 20:31 Summary
I keep on going to write or share things, but then go back and delete them or even fail to start, because a voice in my head keeps telling me that no one cares what I have to say and that expressing myself is pointless and selfish. All day yesterday, I thought about quitting on the things I love or maybe shooting myself. I'm not doing that, but the urge was there. I deleted some of my own things yesterday out of programmed self-hatred. Some of you left some nice comments on them, and I thank you for that. You were heard and appreciated. I want so badly to love myself and feel good about sharing my art, but it still brings up guilt. My happiness is fake. I feel like the world has beaten the passion out of me and I don't know how to get it back. I'm still filled with self-hatred. But, it fuels my art. It gives me a reason to raise my middle finger to the negative and hurtful voices inside my head and create art. Thursday is my special day. I'm going to spend it in meditation. I meditate by playing video games. The games keep the monkey mind busy so the rest of me can figure stuff out and heal. Thank you for listening. I hope you are all doing well. Hugses and namaste. Thank you for your kind videos, they do help a lot at times.
Let it be known to all: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! I tell ye, truly, Jesus of Nazareth is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. He is the anointed one, for he is, Jesus Christ. God the Father has raised him from the dead; who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God! Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by him. They who believe and are baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but they who believe not shall be damned. For they who believe not on him, shall die in their sins! I tell ye now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." 1 John 2:2 KJV 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Acts 13:26-33 KJV 26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, *and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.* 27 *For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.* 28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 *And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.* 30 *But God raised him from the dead:* 31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 32 *And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,* 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 1 Peter 3:22 KJV 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. John 14:6 KJV 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 16:16 KJV 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. John 8:24 KJV 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*
@@Call_Upon_YAH I met Jesus in person in RL. He said only two things to me. "You worry all the time. Everything is going to be alright." There is no judgment and nothing to be saved from because humans made up that idea to get others to comply with their desire for control and power. I was raised in an abusive religious cult. Slowly, over time, I have learned, If it creates a separation between you and "the world", it's a cult. If it claims exclusive truth, it's a cult. If it demands its followers follow a prescribed morality, it's a cult. If it forbids you from exploring other ideas, it's a cult. If it creates a line between the "saved" and the "damned", it's a cult. If it can't live and let live in non-judgement, it's a cult. If it puts you into a social or racial category, it's a cult. If it demands obedience, it's a cult. If it has unquestionable truths, it's a cult. If it demands you change yourself to fit in, it's a cult. Cults are evil, manipulative, and oppressive, and are the only thing on this planet that I am truly against. Instead, I choose love.
Funny, but the moments i treasure the most are simple everyday things. Drinking a coffee with a friend, invite someone over and just have a nice chat, talk or argue about our faith and believes (I am christian but keep these conversations with atheists too). In my 22 (not much) years of experience these are the most fragile things, that can change in the blink of an eye. And the easier to forget. We might not forget about our wedding day or graduation, though they certainly fade in our memory. But something I regret is not living, and "time capsule" the most simple little moments from when my fathet was alive. He died 4 years ago. I can't recall his voice anymore, or remember everyday moments with him. Since than my mindset is to try to treasure each moment here and than, no matter how small they are, because they can be ripped from me at any moment. Never think of these moments as something I want to just experience later. My hearth desires to stuck in these good moments forever, but the brain tells something different. Each one of them is so unique and important. Even the sad, hard times are. They were al carefully planned for us (and ONLY for us), the way every little detail in our life connects in the end. Seemingly lose threads will later lead to solutions. And these precious moments can give us the strength and experience to go on later, but never a chance to relive them.
This is so true in a post covid world. I feel everyone is lost and trying to find their way again. But I find it a great time of change. You can always reset and start again. Simply checking in again can do wonders.

@@Call_Upon_YAH not relevant to the current discussion. Christians can be so arrogant and agitated/agitating. Jesus points to God. This man’s teaching here in no way contradicts God’s will. Why must you go on a diatribe about your religion? There is no need and no benefit to you or anyone reading it. Just love your neighbor and stop brow beating people. God is love.
I've been on a journey of Buddhism since 1971. I was a student, lifeguard, office worker. My work as a software developer began in 1980. I was well-suited to this work, in the form it took at that time. But, oh my, so much has changed in 40 years! It was gradual at first, but now... The increased complexities of work responsibilities, deadlines, hours, and a feeling that I'm not really allowed to be an imperfect human by my company or possibly any company! It feels inevitable that I'll disappoint someone on some level, but maybe that's just more of what I need to let go of. Right now, my 2 teammates at work both have an elderly parent in decline and they must take time off work every week lately. We have a more than 3-person workload with each of us working 50 hours a week. I tell myself just try to make it day at a time. I see my teammates' situations with their families as my opportunity to increase compassion. I practice precepts, chanting, meditation, working with blockages (attachments, anger, ignorance). I exercise, sleep, eat pretty well for a 71 year old. Breathe, All is Well, Relax and Release are my mantras. I do some yoga, work on feeling my body and groundedness. Some days, especially lately, I feel the need for an hour of chanting morning and night plus at least an hour of meditation. It definitely helps. It's just a lot. I do reflect on my past time capsules, which is helpful. It is part of the evening routine you gave in your video on that topic some time back. Your morning routine and evening routines are my favorite videos.
I certainly can relate because I’ve got a little more than 40 years in IT from network engineering to executive positions. At this time I am done with IT because companies and people do expect us to be perfect. It’s a toxic environment to work in IT now compared to the 1980s. I’ve always enjoyed helping people so even at my age rather than just retire I am switching my career. Learning something totally new but that allows me to feel fulfilled and helping others. I was very poor and homeless as a child so I focused on having enough money. Looking back it is better to focus on becoming a better person. I did not discover Buddhism until in my late 50s just the practical “how to” advice and having friendship with a few monks has given me the tools I need to have a much more peaceful life. I pray all beings seen and unseen in all realms and planes of existence have inner peace and happiness. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
It requires courage to walk the path of a healthier "you". Sadly, but honestly, many lack this courage. It requires fewer friends, less worldly involvement, and relinquishing old habits and thought patterns, and all of these, quiet as it's kept, are their refuge.🙏 Thank you as always 😊
Beautiful.! You've captured the essence of this amazing living practice..!!! May you have the blessings of the Triple Gem ( The Buddha, His Teachings/ Dhamma, His Noble Disciples/ Sangha).🙏🙏🙏
I am so grateful for these moments with you. I am able to start my day in meditation and then listen to your podcast and it sets my whole day up to be positive. Thank you so much I know I am a better person because of your teachings.

Venerable Nick, i don't think you realize how wonderful you are. How supportive of us and how wise you are. The knowledge and wisdom that you share is so valuable and important as we navigate this journey. I just want you to know how much i respect and honor you 🙏 This was a powerful teaching. I have a time capsule of the day asked for refuge vows. That moment of clarity was so powerful. I cried because i have never been so clear on anything else in my life. You're so right. It was a moment of pure clarity and I'll never forget how that felt but I never thought to preserve it to use as a navigation tool when I lose my clarity. Thank you for everything you do for us 🙏☸️
Some people don't understand when you are starting on your spiritual journey or are going through your own personal spiritual journey. Thank you Nick for sharing your experiences and your great wisdom and knowledge. I'm having a big problem finding a place to meditate two to three times a day where there isn't any interruptions, chaos and stressful environment.
Your crisis teaching is superb and completely accurate. One of my crisis moments me step back and re-evaluate things and go, "Wait a moment-hold on?!" And as one Zen monk puts it, "You enter the world again but this time with naked eyes." Truthfully, I never grasped that until just now. Your eyes are no longer skewed by the many things that cloud our vision and distorts our thinking. Thank you 😊🙏
Thank you for all that you do Nick. I have been in the Buddhist path since 2012, 12 years later I've reached a certain level of equanimity. At 12 years old of being a buddhist, I am now learning the teachings more intimately and I see the miracles in my day-to-day life. I have all the Buddha and his teachings to thank for saving my mind and therefore my life, allowing me to see the taints and defilements. Your channel gives me feedback as to where I am in my journey. And it gives me glimpses of what goes behind the monasteries in Thailand where I used to visit during the whirlwind when I was still searching for clarity and truth. It is my wish to become a nun someday once my teenage son grows up. Thank you. I love you. Keep doing what you do as you are helping so many of us. Namo Buddhaya. 🙏
You are so affirming😊. I appreciate this metaphor of the time capsule, to hold onto the feelings of goodness, gratitude, hope and positive anticipation. The addition of time capsules for challenging times are an added bonus to change our perceptions of these moments. Well-organized presentation of ideas. Thank You!
Thank you, Venerable Nick. I have recently returned from a week of silent retreat where so much internal “mess” was investigated and the mind allowed to settle. Now the really hard part begins again, carrying that process into everyday life. Sadhu.
I am so thankful for finding your channel. It is so calming to hear you explain the difficulties that humans are facing and don’t know how to navigate the world. ❤️
Teacher. 12/11/23. It dawned on me today that the “meditation” 🧘 I thought I was practising is only to center my mind. It is not the meditation I thought it was. Only upon binge listening Teacher video did I then comprehend that I have yet to touch into the meditative realm. I was like so blown away…. Wow! So much seems to be needed to be done and to explore. I am excited to finally grasp abit of this wisdom, Transference of merit to Teacher. May Teacher continue to stay resolute on the path. May Teacher continue to grow in wisdom. May Teacher be bless in health. Sadhu. ❤
Ven Nick, Thank You so much for sharing your words of wisdom and Buddhist teaching! I love listening to your calm authentic voice. I feel grounded and at peace whenever I listen to your video. Please keep sharing. You are changing our world for the better. Peace to you and your sangha.
Ven Nick, your wording are often mindful and non violet. At times you are firm in certain concept but always you are kind words. Thank you for being an example. I will continue to learn, train and apply what I learn.
The time leading up to July 17, 1996 was such a difficult time for me, and only my faith sustained me through it. The date was the day of my victory and liberation. If I think on it long enough, even now, the tears still come because I am just grateful, particularly when I know that it was my getting off of the path that caused the difficult time in the first place. If nothing else, the remembrance of that time period keeps me on the path.🙏
thank you for your wisdom Venerable Nick 🙏🏼 I instantly thought of big moments in my life (happy + crises) when you mentioned the time capsule . I will use these as fuel to continue with my intentions 😊 I want to share that I’m meditating almost daily now and practicing gratitude every single day. My life has truly changed and I could never thank you enough for that!
Hi Nick This is a fantastic topic you have chosen to talk about.. I have noticed that people seem to have lost the way in their lives, and not knowing how to improve & change this & Especially during & after the Pandemic it has had a huge impact..For myself personally I had to make serious changes in my everyday life.. Especially for my health & I am so glad that I have achieved this by just doing the simple things such as exercising, having my volunteer work which I greatly enjoy and So grateful having channels such as yours & others to listen to. And I have my personal journal which I make notes each day that also helps me in so many way's.. Thank you Nick and stay safe & many blessings to you and everyone out there 🙏🙂🦋
Trying to capture all these moments and hold onto them feels like fighting the flow of time and introducing a collection of things that compete for my attention in the present moment. I have a lifetime of captured moments and wisdom. They tend to cloud my judgement and make me live in the past. They lead me to fighting entropy and constantly seek answers when I know, in the center of my understanding, the best experiences I have are chucking all those things, my intents, etc. and being present. Feeling every footfall of my walk, every breath.
Ven. Nick. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put your knowledge into video so that we can learn from the wisdom that has taken you years of contemplation. I learn so much from your videos and am putting into practice that which I learn. I am growing deeper and stronger.
How do you get clarity on your life? Thought provoking question. Instantly, my answer came to me: being a single man. It provides me with the time, the freedom, the opportunities, without interuption, to read, pray, meditation, recite, contemplate, and to reflect- time that the majority of us don't have. In my mind, it would be imprudent to relinquish such a blessing 🙏
"How to see things accurately"- Yes, yes, yes, and yes! Which reminds me of a Daoist proverb: "Sometimes what we gain is more trouble than what we lose." I am also reminded of these wise man's words: "Is it worth the sacrifice?" Only when we are completely candid with ourselves and look at the entire picture objectively can we answer this question honestly.
I absolutely love your videos. I am always open to learning and growing spiritually. So glad I found you channel. You are such a great teacher. Thank you
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I really appreciate it! It helps me in my daily life. With my spiritual practice. I can even see cleaning as a spiritual practice and even enjoy cleaning now. I am very grateful! 🙏
It’s great to see you again Ven Nick, I was thinking about your videos yesterday & I was very pleased to find a new one today. Life has gotten busy but as always your message has impeccable timing. I’m going to take your advice & create a Time Capsule for this current moment of change I’m in. Thank you as always for your guidance 🙏🏻☺️
I like the idea of time capsule. I'll keep this in mind. No wonder it makes me smile and be grateful when I look back on memories, photos, and the stories behind it. It reminds me of how far I've become. It reminds me of the feelings. Things I used to work and pray hard for that I don't seem to see value anymore. Thanks as always, Ven Nick. ❤️
I am not buddhist, but I hold the Lord Buddha's teaching as a pillar in life. I was born to do a mission, about which I only know what it is. I am particularly interested in the mundane world teaching of yours. I observe many people do things and follow the expectations, duties and so on. Day by day, they lose their sense of what they really are to be in their life and start questioning their existence. I see many people saying that their life is meaningless and they do not see a point of living because they see life as the same pattern everyday. Your teaching gives me reflection on my mission on earth which is my core value, that I must achieve before I pass (if possible, as I cannot tell how long I will live [realities of life are uncertainty]). I look forward to reading your books, I love reading. I read books on many different religions, schools of thought, philosophy, anything I can lay my hand on. But books which ring the bell and align you with life purposes are invaluable, so indispensable for the extremely fast moving world, life, societies, digital world today. I am practising yoga to help me grounded and slow down my trains of thought. I am an adult ADHD and do things extremely fast and digest a lot of information. Thank you for your teaching, I am paying attention to the whole video clip and think as you teach. Sadhu
Been listening to your words for years now, and as everybody else can, i relate to so much. Your journey inspires other journeys. Thats whats so beautiful about what ur doing
So much wisdom and #truth I've been through more than a few of his talking points in life and Nick's recommendations not only resonate, but echo what I've also come to learn in my own experience. (fwiw) Again Nick, thank you for sharing 🙇
This has been a really helpful video, I feel right now that my life is turning into a mess, I try to bring order but it feels like every time I try to be better, I fall into another mess.
Thank you L Pi Nick for sharing this wisdom. I just came back to Malaysia from a 2week retreat at Pa Pae. I am in awe at the effort everyone put in ,in the past to make it a wonderful space for everyone to benefit tremendously from PaPae. The teaching monks departed their wisdom in ways that I understood the teachings. I miss PP already.....hope to return in the future. Thank you again .
Oh how to say. How pure is the essence of the new experience. Grab it and hold it dear to your heart. Take a photo in your mind. The not so nice stuff. Accept it, own it and endure with an expectation that in time this too shall pass. Save it all, and in time give thanks for the lesson learnt the gift bestowed and the realisation received. Sadhu Nick. 🌻
This is such a helpful idea and practice! Many times, I have wandered off my spiritual path and been disappointed in myself. This practice will allow me to be gentler with myself and renew my resolve. Bless you!!
I absolutely love your wisdom. I found you on instagram and I’m so glad I did. Listening to any of your videos always make me feel better. Thank you. 💖
When I decided to not go to College. I had vague ideas of what I wanted to do. But life took me on a rushing river. Now I have the Dharma. Nice to know you are in my area Ven. Nick! 😊💚🙏
Ey! Just wanted to tell you that I´m on my Buddhist path more present and conscious than ever. Thanks for the contribution you have had on my transformation :) Much love 🖤🕉👁
Thank you for making us save these precious moments. I remember that the old Wolfgang Goethe said: " In each begin lives an enchantment" , (sorry , the translation is my own, ).
Speaking of weddings, I'll be attending one tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be capturing that moment of exchanging vows. Thank you for reminding me of special moments worth capturing. :)
I noted some things to be more personal instead of, lets say, political. I didn't add much about feelings/emotions, thank you for this advice :) I want my feelings in another country; too much has happened, also in my neighboorhood there seems to be nobody i want to trust in. My notes are rather memories and sometimes ideas. It's difficult to feel something about someone not here.
Thank you for this video! I've been there before, out of pure self-pressuring, feeling like I had to "provide content" and forgetting what I truly wished to do. There wasn't even a "real" demand of responsibility, yet it truly is because of the world around me and how it made me feel like I had to provide quantity or regularity to be relevant. I knew something was wrong when I felt a lack of enthusiasm because I knew in my heart I always enjoyed writing and toying with ideas. In a way, I already time capsuled that feeling, the sheer love and enthusiasm I have for my ideas. However, even as I've worked on that, there are always time I need to pause and self-check and not fall into traps. Seeing your video is another reminder, I might even say it feels like it came before I would even fall into more traps. It makes sense, because I'm about to embark in my most beloved writing project, and I feel like you're 100% right: I need to never loose sight of how it feels for me right now. The love, the ideas, the enthusiasm, and the amazement that everything before now was like a training. So again, thank you for this well timed video! There's actually one "big" thing I would say I've timed capsuled, and its less of a moment and more a feeling: the utter peace of feeling loved simply because I exist. Every week, on the day I was born, I lit up incense to honor my core value of infinite love, which in turn mean I remember everything I've felt meditating with them. And honestly I can't go a day without mentally reaching out to these feelings, saying "I love you" randomly to the universe, and closing my eyes to bask in it. That's my time capsule I always return to, and it really helped me through a major crisis in belief. In fact, that crisis is a time capsule of its own, because I came out stronger, and I have a certain fondness for it due to how I heavily questionned what might be true, what it would mean, and what I would do in each case. I felt really lost and scared in some ways, but it only made me realize how stabilizing love/compassion itself was. They kind of feed each other, the crisis and the feeling of bliss, although the only feeling I have thinking back on the crisis is fondness and that pure sense of "I've learned to know myself during that time". Wishing you luck for your books!
Hi Nick, I really love your videos. You're a wonderful person, full of joy and light. I've been very seriously considering to become a Buddhist monk for a while but I wonder how it is to be a monk in modern society and - not lose your way I suppose. Coming from a very naive person who hasn't experienced what you have, it seems super easy to sit in a forest or on a mountain with no distractions or social media or employment and society beating you down each day as you read the dharma and meditate. What happens when you enter this life again? How is that experience? Is it easy to keep on with monklife? Or is it a struggle to keep up with practice and rules? Thanks in advance and sending love and blessings.
Thank you, Nick! Covid forced me into early retirement as a mental health professional with a hypnotherapy practice. Since then I've been adrift, unable to "just relax and enjoy" retirement as my husband does. I feel like I still have something to contribute to this world. Although I have practiced meditating, I have never developed a practice of meditation. So... I just purchased your two books - The Building Blocks of Meditation and The Building Blocks of Meditation Journal. Thank you for these offerings. I'll let you know how it goes! 🙏😊😉🕉
@@nickkeomahavong01 I received the books yesterday afternoon. I looked them over, and love the simplicity of your writing. Beginning to read in earnest today. 🙏❣️💟
Hi Nick, thank you for your thoughtful and deep sharing. I am grateful for the books you have written, especially the The Building Blocks of Meditation and The Building Blocks of Meditation Journal. I use the journal every day to help me stick to my meditation practices. In the the rating section, I always put 8. Sometimes a 7 ... but never too low or too high. I am practicing equanimity - non judgment, not aim for more but at the same time not criticize any experience.... like you taught us - neutral observations. I hope to read more of your books and I am so thankful for all your videos. May peace, health, safety, and life of ease be with you.
Thank you Bhante for this timely video. I just disrobed as a novice monk today and I felt so lost. I felt like my original intention was naive. It wasn’t naive, it was pure. Sadhu sadhu sadhu. 🙏🏻
@@commenteroftruth9790 I've not put on the robes again in another monastery since that comment and I feel okay about it. I think there's a good reason for me seeing all that I did and perhaps I have more to do out here in the lay world for a bit.
This is such a good video, so simple yet powerful and potentially life changing. To help others remember the key points: * Time capsule Write down major life events at the moment they happen, be it a moment of happiness, crisis or clarity. - What is the feeling in this moment? - What is the intention in this moment? * Meditate to help you find clarity and neutrality * Reflect on your life, with neutrality Thank you so much for all your videos, they inspire and bring hope 🙏 PS, what is the piano song at the beginning of these videos? It reminds me of a song, but I can't figure out which one it is...
Dearest Ven Nick.. I write this with the greatest sincerity and guidance.. Unarmed Black people are getting killed in the street and I am wondering how I am supposed to look at the guilty police with compassion? How do I stay on track. I meditate to help myself to generate love and kindness but this and past crimes against humanity stay in my head. Conflict and heaviness of this lives in me daily every hour. Any and all perspectives would be wholly welcomed🙏🏿 Thank you for your insightful podcasts have a blessed day⭐️

Let it be known to all:
Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit!

I met Jesus in person in RL.
He said only two things to me.
"You worry all the time.
Everything is going to be alright."
There is no judgment and nothing to be saved from because humans made up that idea to get others to comply with their desire for control and power. I was raised in an abusive religious cult. Slowly, over time, I have learned,
If it creates a separation between you and "the world",
it's a cult.
If it claims exclusive truth,
it's a cult.
If it demands its followers follow a prescribed morality,
it's a cult.
If it forbids you from exploring other ideas,
it's a cult.
If it creates a line between the "saved" and the "damned",
it's a cult.
If it can't live and let live in non-judgement,
it's a cult.
If it puts you into a social or racial category,
it's a cult.
If it demands obedience,
it's a cult.
If it has unquestionable truths,
it's a cult.
If it demands you change yourself to fit in,
it's a cult.
Cults are evil, manipulative, and oppressive, and are the only thing on this planet that I am truly against.
Instead, I choose love.
@@Call_Upon_YAH Also, Jesus was a Mystic Buddhist. Read a REAL book, would ya?
Thank you so much 😊
Yes I hated covid but loved the how we slowed down and had more time with love ones and space x

Aww thank you so much and yes, just do the best you can 😊
thanks so much for sharing your experience.
It requires fewer friends, less worldly involvement, and relinquishing old habits and thought patterns, and all of these, quiet as it's kept, are their refuge.🙏
Thank you as always 😊

Stay clear on your vision for your life and your intentions. Action without clear intention is a fast way to get lost in life.
Yesssss! Definitely.
Your crisis teaching is superb and completely accurate. One of my crisis moments me step back and re-evaluate things and go, "Wait a moment-hold on?!"
And as one Zen monk puts it, "You enter the world again but this time with naked eyes."

Thank you for you’re words. You and Michael have met at the perfect time and at a young age when most don’t come across this.
Aww thank you so much. We definitely feel so blessed.
Hi Nick
This is a fantastic topic you have chosen to talk about..
Thank you Nick and stay safe & many blessings to you and everyone out there 🙏🙂🦋
Wow that’s so wonderful! I love the practice you have going on for yourself. That’s great! Please keep up the great work 😊
@@nickkeomahavong01 Thank you Nick for replying back Much appreciated 🙏🦋
Thank you Nick for sharing your wisdom it seems such a beautiful peaceful life
You’re welcome ☺️ thank you so much
Trying to capture all these moments and hold onto them feels like fighting the flow of time and introducing a collection of things that compete for my attention in the present moment.
I like it.
Thank you 🌅 See you this Saturday evening!
Oh wonderful! Looking forward to having you 😊
Ven. Nick. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put your knowledge into video so that we can learn from the wisdom that has taken you years of contemplation. I learn so much from your videos and am putting into practice that which I learn. I am growing deeper and stronger.
Awww thank you so much. It’s my pleasure 😊
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS
THANK YOU 🙏

You are so welcome! Thank you so much 😊
So true, Sensei. For marriage, motherhood and anything else. What have we promised and vowed and seeked... Thank you for your teaching. 🙏🏼 gassho.
Thank you. Sometimes I become bitter and forget my way.
Thank You! Nick
For Sharing your WISDOM with me.
My pleasure! Thank you so much 😊
Thank you Ven. Nick for this wonderful message. It is so helpful and it is such a treasure. ✨🙏
"How to see things accurately"- Yes, yes, yes, and yes!
Which reminds me of a Daoist proverb:
"Sometimes what we gain is more trouble than what we lose."
I am also reminded of these wise man's words:
"Is it worth the sacrifice?"
Only when we are completely candid with ourselves and look at the entire picture objectively can we answer this question honestly.
😊😊😊
As usual, beautiful video, Nick 🙏🏻
Thank you so much 😊
I absolutely love your videos. I am always open to learning and growing spiritually. So glad I found you channel. You are such a great teacher. Thank you
Aww thank you so much and welcome to the channel 😊
I believe you have mentioned stillness is the key to success! How true those words are. Great video
Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom! I really appreciate it! It helps me in my daily life. With my spiritual practice. I can even see cleaning as a spiritual practice and even enjoy cleaning now. I am very grateful! 🙏
Wow that’s wonderful! Keep up the great work Verena 😊
Oh wonderful Mel! Yes please do 😊😊
I like the idea of time capsule. ❤️
Thank you for having uploading this on RUclips.
So much wisdom and #truth
I've been through more than a few of his talking points in life and Nick's recommendations not only resonate, but echo what I've also come to learn in my own experience. (fwiw)
Again Nick, thank you for sharing 🙇
Thanks for sharing!! I’m glad it resonates with you 😊
This has been a really helpful video, I feel right now that my life is turning into a mess, I try to bring order but it feels like every time I try to be better, I fall into another mess.
I will go for meditation retreat on march 20 hopefully for 10day course ...
Wonderful my friend. That’s great 😊
Congratulations on starting up literature, that’s a wonderful idea. ❤ can’t wait
Thank you!! 😊
Thank you for the Teachings Nick.A true Blessing.
Sadhu Nick. 🌻
You’re welcome Joan 😊
This is such a helpful idea and practice! Many times, I have wandered off my spiritual path and been disappointed in myself. This practice will allow me to be gentler with myself and renew my resolve. Bless you!!
Thank you Sadhu 🙏✅💛🌻 what's meant to be will be & what's now will fade away just like me someday 🏡🐾🌾

Hello Nick , long time . Exactly what I was meant to hear . I haven't been able to get back on track for a while now. Thank you. I'm coming back.
Deborah! So good to hear from you. And yes, no worries, just pick yourself back up again 😊😊
Thank you Ven Nick. Thanks for sharing.
Speaking of weddings, I'll be attending one tomorrow and I'm sure I'll be capturing that moment of exchanging vows. Thank you for reminding me of special moments worth capturing. :)
Oh wow that’s wonderful! Enjoy your time 😊
I noted some things to be more personal instead of, lets say, political. I didn't add much about feelings/emotions, thank you for this advice :) I want my feelings in another country; too much has happened, also in my neighboorhood there seems to be nobody i want to trust in. My notes are rather memories and sometimes ideas. It's difficult to feel something about someone not here.
I hope it’s helpful 😊
@@nickkeomahavong01 Thank you 🙂
Thank you for this video!
These videos are just beautiful and joyous to watch.
Thank you for sharing. This talk about time capsule helped me.

Glad it’s helpful. Thank you so much 😊
Thank you, Nick!
Oh wonderful! Yes please keep us updated on your progress 😊😊
@@nickkeomahavong01 I received the books yesterday afternoon. I looked them over, and love the simplicity of your writing. Beginning to read in earnest today. 🙏❣️💟
Thank you! This is the message I needed to hear today ❤.
Wonderful my friend 😊
Thank God for people like you Monk ... to learn from your Wisdom Knowledge... Keep up the great work..God bless and God speed....

Thank you Bhante for this timely video. I just disrobed as a novice monk today and I felt so lost. I felt like my original intention was naive. It wasn’t naive, it was pure. Sadhu sadhu sadhu. 🙏🏻
how is your monk stuff goin
@@commenteroftruth9790 I've not put on the robes again in another monastery since that comment and I feel okay about it. I think there's a good reason for me seeing all that I did and perhaps I have more to do out here in the lay world for a bit.
This is such a good video, so simple yet powerful and potentially life changing. To help others remember the key points:
* Time capsule
Write down major life events at the moment they happen, be it a moment of happiness, crisis or clarity.
- What is the feeling in this moment?
- What is the intention in this moment?
* Meditate to help you find clarity and neutrality
* Reflect on your life, with neutrality
Thank you so much for all your videos, they inspire and bring hope 🙏
PS, what is the piano song at the beginning of these videos? It reminds me of a song, but I can't figure out which one it is...
it is so inspiring to me, master! thank you a lot !
