You've provided a very worthwhile video. We love our 2025 Tucson Hybrid Limited and purchased it because, currently, there is no other Hybrid in its class with a Heads Up Display (HUD). The refreshed Kia Sportage (now being shown in South Korea) will also offer an HUD for the first time (like its sister/cousin Hyundai Tucson) in its top trim level (Prestige). Just a few corrections to your commentary: 1. Although the steering wheel mounted paddles work as manual transmission changers in SPORT mode (only), they work as manual changers to (3 level) regenerative braking in ECO mode or when "MY Mode" is set to Eco, Smart or Baby drive modes, providing improvement to the hybrid battery's function/usage duration. True one pedal driving is not actually possible, but dynamically graded braking is really quite impressive, very close to full EVs and the "Auto" setting will adapt the braking according to speed and traffic. Regenerative braking is not accessible when using adaptive cruise control. For me, "MY' mode is set to "SMART" and "SPORT HANDLING" and is really excellent to drive. My wife prefers "BABY" drive mode in MY drive, as it considerably smooths out acceleration, with almost zero abrupt changes when the ICE becomes engaged. 2. The switch below & to the left of the steering wheel ("12v Battery Reset") is used (if needed) to momentarily charge the main 12v battery (if necessary) via the hybrid battery if the 12v battery dies, supposedly eliminating the need to jump the 12v battery.
You certainly know your stuff. The tech is getting so complicated to learn these days. First, they want us to learn how to set up a zoom meeting, now this!
Hopefully there is no issue with the fuel filler door opening. I have a 23 Limited and my wife has a 22 SE and they both have had issues with the fuel filler door opening. Hyundai service department where cars were bought could not look at my car for 3 weeks!! Another one told me to try and pry it open with a credit card! Finally got connected with a dealer who will order replacement part but I had to send a video to show proof it would not open because when I took it to them it opened with no issue! Done with Hyundai! Looking at the 2026 Honda Passport or Ford Bronco Sport as my next vehicle! Wife wants to look at Toyota or Subaru to replace her Tucson!
Going on 4 years and 45000 completely trouble-free miles on my 22 hybrid. Still have the original tires with about 35% tread left.Never had an issue with the fuel door.
So glad you mentioned the unsafe low-mounted turn signals. I’m astounded that they are not illegal. I’m also in East Texas near Houston. Keep it up brother. Good video
@ you are indeed correct. They are very effective at a distance. The issue comes when you’re in bumper to bumper traffic, or a situation when you’re riding next to them on a two lane highway and cannot see the turn signal due to its low mounting.
@@albertsouchet3551not true. The dude made a good point. He said if you’re driving on the highway those are usually dual lanes in both directions, you could be driving alongside them and never see the turn signal. In this case being too close is not the fault of the driver.
We enjoyed the CR-V as well. It has better EPA MPG numbers. The tech in the Hyundai is a little more up to date, with bigger screens and more camera views. Personally, I’d pick the Hyundai because of its design, tech, and better warranty. ruclips.net/video/cdJe1h7IY_A/видео.htmlsi=u00FP_X-z6qhnUtd
You do realize that black carpet makes that white sand/dirt show up more, right? A light-colored carpet would’ve hidden that better. Contrary to popular belief, dark carpet does NOT hide dirt better. Medium colors do.
You forgot to mention three problems. 1. The seats are the worst I've encountered in over a million miles of driving and driving dozens and dozens of vehicles due to a plastic horseshoe in the middle of the seat right below the headrest that hits you in the shoulder blades if you are a tall person. 2. The smart brake regeneration which is a great feature has to be turned on through a 5-step process every time you start the car. 3. The 19 inch wheels cost you 5 miles to the gallon over a much more intelligent use of a 17 inch wheel and they are also more expensive to replace and more likely to get damaged.
if only I could trust Hyundai....too many engine failures, too many rejected warranty claims....don't want to roll the dice on what looks like a very nice vehicle.
there are not known problems with the new 1.6T, it may break like any engine in any vehicle but certainly is not a massive problem like with older Hyundai / KIA engines
Hyundai in the last 5 plus years has had great reliability! It makes me laugh how people just make these negative comments with very little/no evidence.
your videography is way too claustrophobic for me. I don't stare at the front of a vehicle for two minutes straight from the vantage point of a small child. And I don't shove my face 6 inches away from the car when I am studying its details. My favorite car. But I can't watch.

Yes. We tried out the BABY mode when we first drove it in California.

Did I miss it? Biggest improvement is moving gear selector to steering column, which then led to a more useable center console.
And actual, physical controls for HVAC & volume/tuning
Good video. Not a bad looking vehicle and it’s a good value.
Thanks for watching.
A very nice-looking vehicle. I had a chance to test one of these Hybrids and was really impressed with the power, handling and interior room.
Totally agree

Sorry to hear that.
That 2026 Passport looks amazing.

Dont get the CRV. It had not 1 but 2 recalls!!!. Surreal. DEI? Fuel pump and steering column.
Really nice video. If you can do the tuscon Hybrid Nline that could be great ! Nobody review it and i'm still waiting for a video of it. Thanks.
TRUST ME I WANT that N Line. I’ll keep a look out.
@GTGarageTalk No dealer can lend it to you for a test?
I’ve reached out to my local dealer.
Would you recommend getting an extended warranty ($3200)for this trim since Hyundai is not really known for reliability?
Hyundai may not be great, but it’s not bad for reliability
It’s a family sUV ! What do you want more than 7.1 secs 0-60 for 😂 go buy a corvette
When you press the accelerator down prior to launching, don't the wheels spin/squeal and smoke?
So glad you mentioned the unsafe low-mounted turn signals. I’m astounded that they are not illegal. I’m also in East Texas near Houston. Keep it up brother. Good video
I've noticed some other vehicles with low signal lights, some Toyotas have them too.
They must be quite effective because everyone notices them.

If you can’t see them, that means you’re too close. Simple as that

@@Moistnmeaty90 thanks. Reading is hard for some people 😂. Exactly what I was trying to say.
What does it cost to have the spark plugs changed? You have to do it at 48k miles. Belt changes are early too...
Thoughts on this vs the Santa Fe? Having a hard time there. Don't love the captain seats on the Santa Fe, but I want the features.
You can get a bench on the Santa Fe. We really love the Santa Fe.
Perhaps look into a Limited trim
@GTGarageTalk yeah, I saw that but would love to have it on the upper trim. Just seems like odd choices for the trim/design combination.
In eco mode the paddles serve as regen braking control.
👍🏼
I need more information about how Hyundai hybrid system works, but I can’t find them online 😂
What do you want to know?
How do you feel like this matches up with the Cr-V... Definitely seems like the tech overall has much more to offer for the price point.

I was comparing the same 2 vehicles and they had me with their 0% financing offer (read - free money)- happy owner so far (2 1/2 weeks)
You do realize that black carpet makes that white sand/dirt show up more, right? A light-colored carpet would’ve hidden that better. Contrary to popular belief, dark carpet does NOT hide dirt better. Medium colors do.
Can the emblem on back glass be removed?
It is under the glass. Would be a chore.
Thanks 🌹
Happy to help.

Those were not problems in our testing of it, but certainly worth noting if they stood out to you.
You will not find this in the manual but long pull of the right paddle shifter will turn smart regen on without having to jump through the hoops.
Power braking is useless in this car and may confuse the computer. There is no torque converter in this car.
😉
No spare tire and Jack on the Tucson caused me to buy the Escape Hybrid.
if only I could trust Hyundai....too many engine failures, too many rejected warranty claims....don't want to roll the dice on what looks like a very nice vehicle.
Yes looks nice but will you have to replace engine in two years, Not very reliable hyundai and kia products
Based on?
The Tucson hasn't had significant complaints since 2016: www.carcomplaints.com/Hyundai/Tucson/
