Glad to see CrossFit finally creating content to help coaches be the best! I like that she had him pause mid-way to demonstrate what it looks like. I think this is really good for helping athletes start to spot the flaws in real-time. Slow-motion of it would be helpful too with pausing and highlighting. I also like that she visually showed him what he was doing and what she wanted him to do. I also like that she tried a second type of cue with “squeeze the triceps”. I have never thought of this cue and will add it to my bag of tricks but I wonder how many athletes it would work for. Many athletes likely couldn’t tell you where their triceps are. I would have the athlete practice moving slowly with a PVC pipe first, just the hip extension with straight arms to help them feel this part of the movement. Maybe even give them a kettlebell and have them practice with it to help them feel the hips doing the lifting instead of the arms. Drill it for a bunch of reps increasing speed and power with just hip extensions and arms straight and then try the full movement again.
