Hey guys! welcome back to Jon's RC! Today, I got to fly this awesome micro warbird! This is the Rage RC Micro P-51D RTF! This plane may be a micro but she is fast, agile and super fun!
This plane has 3 flight modes: Beginner, Intermediate and Expert. In Beginner mode, she is an absolute breeze to fly! In expert mode, she becomes more agile but still has a limited bank and pitch angles. In Expert mode, angle limitations are removed. I did actually crash this bird while trying to do inverted flying! The good news is she is made of tough foam and she was able to fly again! This RC plane does come with its own gyro system that they call PASS ((Pilot Assist Stability Software). The PASS system can definitely help the beginner in flying this plane!

Nice Jon! I have 1 of these also under the Eachine name. The 1s brushed power system has surprisingly a lot of juice! I can go for 15+ minutes on the included 400 MaH lipo

I've been having a blast ripping the little zero around
I have every single rage rc plane they make and me and my dad and two brothers dog fight with them theybard fun little park flyers with enough power to do some acrobatics and dog fighting manuvers. I always fly the ones with with pass in advanced mode or turn it off completely
That’s awesome! I wish I could do that with my dad but he is not skilled enough to “dog fight”! He can probably fly it in circles but not dog fighting!

No they don't! They do sell some "pretty damn good models" though! Like these re-branded 400mm Mini Mustangs (and other models) made by Exhobby/Volantex/Lanyu in China. 😉😊

Just picked one of these up yesterday and absolutely love it. Though I can't tell if I like the battery compartment system better than the old champs. Thanks for the help Jon, love the channel!

I just got mine today and I already got really good at it. First time flying an RC plane but I'm a good drone pilot. Highly recommended this plane, wish the price didn't go up to 120 ish

Yeah! This is a pretty cool design. We have seen other designs similar to this but it required a tiny rubber band. The problem is that if the rubber band ever comes off, you will never find it again! 😅

I have a suggestion, maybe you can but a go-pro or a small camera on the rc planes wing or something and you would make a video out of it (you can choose whatever plane you want) so ya....
Yes! We definitely want to do that! We actually purchased a RunCam for this type of flying videos. We will probably mount it on an Aeroscout since the prop will be behind the camera! Thanks!
Nice video I have that plane for two weeks now and really enjoy it I was wondering if you could bind a Spektrum transmitter to it as I'm thinking of buying pmf and need to buy a transmitter for all my planes
you cannot bind a spektrum transmitter to it
@@henryolson7061 But if you buy a proper Multi Protocol Radio instead of that over-priced Spektrum stuff you will be able to fly these AND any Spektrum-receivered planes that you might have.

Actually, if anyone gets the new V2 blue and white striped Volantex P-51 (the original makers of these re-brands) the flight board now sports both S-bus and DSM sockets for proprietary system junkies. 😉😊

Do you think it just a bit to fast to recommend as a first plane? I think a rookie flying it in tight quarters with trees could easily wind up doing a "tree landing".
I like that it comes with two props even though it is a break away which greatly lessons the chance of breaking the prop and/or damaging the motor. and gearing.
No. But only because we had other videos to shoot that day. But, he can fly my UMX Turbo Timber so he should be able to fly this one.
@@JonsRC Love my UMX Turbo Timber. One big negative is because of its small size and color you can easily lose orientation if you fly it to far out.
@@BillKisel Yep! I know it well! But, the UMX Timber and Turbo Timber are still my favorite UMX planes!
I have 1 of these. Great plane, but the stall speed is quite high compared to other UMX 1s planes

Thanks! Look into getting the AMA RC license. It’s basically an insurance policy. You can still fly this small RC plane in a large field or park without it but we STRONGLY recommend you get it and try to find an AMA RC flying field for when you start flying larger models.

Is this the same as the eachine planes?
Yep. The original manufacturer (Volantex) sends them out to re-sellers with a whole raft of different re-brand labels on 'em. If you contact them with a big enough order (in the 1000s) they will even supply them in a box with your name and face on it! 😉
