2023 Blackwing is a Beast! Very lucky to get my hands on one with no mark up.
Really cool gains! For most people this thing is expensive so I couldn't see myself voiding a warranty right from the dealership, especially when the car is already pretty much perfect. As if it needs more power... LOL

I had the only other blue one in the east coast, manual. Sold it and picked up a grey on white '23 manual, with ceramic brakes and moon roof! Love this car!
Anything on being able to tune? Or aftermarket mods such as intakes and cams?
Did boost change at all with the ported blower? I'm doing a similar experiment but with a ct4v turbo motor. I've made some great gains so far over stock without being able to tune, but not sure on some other stuff.
sure you already know this but get that tune man itll open up a lot more performance out of it especially since youve added aftermarket parts to it

Should have paid more attention at 11:45. Unplugged my MAF for my cold air intake and went into limp mode and couldn’t clear the code with HpTuners! Luckily the snapon scan tool cleared them!

you guys seem to be pretty knowledgeable on the LT4 engine. I ordered a CT5 blackwing and was wondering do I really have to wait until the 500 mile break-in period before I stomp on it?
I don’t think you necessarily have to baby it but there might be a limiter on the revs like the c8 , will limit the redline to like 5k as a pose to 6600
it just limits the redline up to 5000rpm
WHY even chance it with a 6 figure car that they ONLY make 250. Their currently sold out. haha.

I’ve got a ct4 v Blackwing and in MD if you want to tinker with that. Definitely needs to be louder.
If it has the same exhaust valves as a v3 take them out take off the actuator and re install them. The exhaust will be open all the time like in track mode over 3k rpm. I did that on mine until I put exhaust and tune.
Just sent mine out to Greg to get it ported. Did X port and got bigger throttle body also and K/N sending me their Beta intake. If you guys can tune this thing, I'd love to send you the car!

What were 0-60 and 1/4 mile times?
I’m not surprised about the AFR. I’m sure it has wideband primary O2’s as my 2013 370z had them so it tuning itself is a lot wider of a range then back in the day! As for putting down the crank OEM Hp numbers you guys are a little off. OEM uses SAE correction and you guys used STD which targets cooler temps so it’ll always read higher. Switch the graph to SAE real quick and see what they show. What gear was used out of curiosity?
SAE is about 3-4% lower than STD correction.
@@SamSheepDoq I’ve heard lower like 2% but it just depends. Either way it’s wrong and takes the click of the mouse to swap it. I wonder if the % increases the higher you go. I know 200’s it’s only like 2%.

What is the catch to doing something like this? How much material was removed from the blower? Was the structural integrity of the blower compromised at all? I’m assuming that was some pretty aggressive port work.
There is no “catch” and there is no problem with structural integrity of the supercharger. Very typical port work from Kong Performance 👍

Yes of course we have TONS of ZL1's running this port.
Was the stock snout used or was it a ported snout with a stock pulley?
stock pulley and yes ported snout we show it and talk about both in the video
Most important thing is data logging the car on the street and check if it’s knocking everywhere. Lt4s tend to knock like crazy if boost is increased without running higher octane fuel either by running methanol injection, ethanol or race gas(higher than 93 octane)

The baseline was 598? That's quite a bit more than what this engine makes in a ZL1 isn't it? Aren't they usually around 550 rwhp? Seems like this makes more than the advertised additional 18 hp.
Well they are rated for 668 hp & 659 tq vs the ZL1 at 650/650 so yes it would make a bit more and not every ZL1 makes 550 some make 540 some make 580+ . Every car is different.

@@Jimmy-ms4sj not really IMO I liked it better when it was all raw power. Don't get me wrong the new stuff is nicer and faster but everything being boosted is just a big eye roll to me. ePA got everyone boosting smaller engines instead of just going all out and throwing a 454 in a ctsv from factory to make it haul lol. I'm just an NA guy. But I'm not a stick lover, I appreciate the new modern automatics
SwappedOutZ71 I love NA too but it would be very hard to get this kind of power reliably for an NA setup. I agree though that there’s nothing better than a great NA setup but I’m more biased to the inline 6’s from BMW and the flat 6’s from the 911’s :)

You're looking at a $115k+ MSRP with it spec'd out like that with the 10 speed and leather/carbon fiber recaro's

Some quick math: Stock CT5-V BW makes 668 HP at the crank. Assuming same parasitic losses %, this is hitting 733 HP at the crank (+65 HP).
When they said it made like 580 to low 600s I was confused.... and still am. If the stock makes 670 crank then the rwhp should be around 620-640 range. I would think. 🤔 am I wrong? I think their numbers are low or their dyno is very stricked.

Those ct5 v black wings still have the lt4 from the corvette c7 zo6 and 6th gen Camaro zl1 they are tunable
You tune the ECU and TCM not the actual engine. They are not the same
Ct6 Black wing is better from last year it has TwinTurbo everybody’s forgotten about that one
They haven't forgotten. The small block LS/LT has been around forever and makes a LOT more power more reliably than the stillborn Blackwing V8. If GM had brought it out 10 years earlier, there would have been some time for development before EV apocalypse but it was too late for the BW V8. I'll gladly take the proven LT4 instead.
its an AUTOMATIC who cares the only reason you buy this car is for the manual and i just clicked 499 miles on mine and asking for a refund. the hype vids on this car are outta bounds... let me add a 3 liter and goodies then ill get excited till then she sits idel in my shop
