  • Everyone asks me "how fast does the TC Wanderer go". I took the Super Soco for a short ride up to the local bike meeting area and on the way tried out the top speed performance. This video is not a review video but simple ride with background music and a few comments about my Wanderer.
For a more detailed review please look at this video • Super Soco Wanderer Up...

Another nice video Ray. I like all the improvements you’re doing to your setup as you progress.
I had a 40 mile ride out of my Wanderer yesterday. That is the absolute max for the roads where i live.
I noticed your Wanderer has different mirrors to mine, i have the round ones.
Definitely going to get the dealership to upgrade my hoses to braids, as you say a shame the manufacturers cut some corners on things.
    Safe riding matey 👌🏻

Thanks Steve, I've got an interesting video I'm just finishing now where I commute to work on a normal work day as usual using the wanderer. It's in realtime showing the roads, hills, towns and traffic. It has the distances and battery range. You can compair your 40 mile run and my work run to see any differences.
(I assume you were in mode 3?)
Regarding the mirrors, mine were round too. I bought some new ones from Amazon. There’re a standard M8 bolt.
      Stay safe and cheers,
      Ray

@@DistantSuns Ray i did allot of my trip in modes 1 & 2. The batteries were both 100% as i had it on charge beforehand to get utter maximum range. There were 5 sections i used mode 3 purely to keep a faster pace with traffic.
The temperature on the day was about 18 degrees. The historical track from the outward bound leg reads : 21.3 km, 35.3 mins ride time, max speed 58 km/h, average speed 36.2 km/h.
I plotted the whole route on my cycling app & it says the ascent for the journey is 2163 feet thats 660 metres. So i guess that’s where my battery goes, i got back with 28% left in each but i never dip below 20% as limp me home kicks in & thats just bloody dangerous.
I see no scenario where i could do the whole trip in mode 3 & make it back.
I’mm looking forward to your video.
I’ve also had my taller side stand arrive from China, the welding is totally shocking. Half of the footplate has no welding at all & the snots that stick out from the welds they did are unbelievable.
I’m going to angle grind the snots off & get a garage to do extra welding.
I will keep you updated .
      Safe riding, Steve

@@aimlessphotographer Steve, I am a bit supprised about that kind of range. You do have two orange heavy duty cables to your batteries and a single yellow DC connector with sensing wires under the seat?
My stand from china had fair welding but the U shaped channel that the bolt fits in was slightly V shaped and I had to file it.
Let me know how you get on,
      Cheers, Ray

Doesn't matter I have econelo classic Chinese Vespa style Scooter.
You can charge it full leave the battery for one two weeks.
When you try to ride do you notice that you have about have the range. Stranger thing is it still starts at hundred percent but than goes down much Quicker.
I call it house of cards effect

    Good,
with respect to the micro in the helmet you hear the ambient noise and the roll of the punch, it was interesting if you filmed the battery charge that was in these 12Km on the dial of the punch.
    Good curves.

Good Idea about the battery charge, I will look into the telemetry data and see what I can do.

    Your area is beautiful.
How do you get more range. You said you have a pouch battery? What where? You carry a battery in person then ? Cheers

    • @DistantSuns
      @DistantSuns  6 месяцев назад +1

Thanks for watching the video. The Super Soco uses "Pouch" batteries. They are a flat square (not round rolled) batteries. They are used in iPhones and other mobile applications. They take up less space and some manufactures use these rather than the 18660 lithium-ion cell.
My feeling from riding my Surron with 18660 lithium-ion cells vs my Super Soco with the pouch batteries is that the all round performance in winter and summer is better using the 18660 lithium-ion cells.
Have a look at my latest video where I talk about winter range.
      ruclips.net/video/H4hN98o-7ZY/видео.html
      Some simple tips...
Charge the batteries over 20 degrees C.
Put them in the bike just before you leave.
      Use mode 2.
Accelerate smoothly using the throttle (ease on the power).
Plan you trip if you can so that uphills are at the start of your trip and your return journey is on the flat.
Your can research Pouch cell vs Prismatic cells on the internet.
      Good riding

An electric moped that looks like a real motorcycle but only goes 40 km/h and takes three hours to reach another city 100 km away, requiring two batteries each costing 1000 euros...
I'm not very convinced about this one.
It seems poorly designed with high costs to get anywhere, and so slow that I would fall asleep halfway there!
People have told me that if you hold in the brake handle, you can make it go faster, like 65 km/h...
but if you do that, the batteries drain so quickly that Super Soco decided to remove this feature on the new models because people didn’t want to buy new batteries every year.
Is there no way to make it go faster?
Is this information really correct, or is there a way to improve its performance so it goes faster and the batteries still last?
Anyone with a workshop that can do this with a Super Soco?
    Thanks!

Hello there, I think you may have inadvertently mixed up the Super Soco models. The TC Wanderer has a 2.5kw hub motor and can cruse quite happily at 65km/h. Depending on your road conditions you can achieve 50km with one battery or 100km with two batteries (64Ah).
The Super Soco TC only has a 1.5kw motor and does around 40km/h; it also has a slightly smaller battery.
If you’re interested in more speed then the new TC Wanderer Pro maybe worth a look. It has a 5.2kw hub motor and a much faster cursing speed.
You can also look at the TC max with a centre motor, its 5.2kw also and it has lots of aftermarket upgrade options on Aliexpress.
I recommend you have a look at some of my other videos about the Super Soco TC Wanderer. I have done all sorts of different testing.
      Thanks very much.

@@DistantSuns the Wanderer, I do not see it on the Swedish websites… they got Max but that is not a moped but a motorcycle here that need motorcycle license… the Wanderer, is that a moped or a Motorcycle? Thanks for getting back to me!

@@SimplicityForGood The TC Wanderer and TC Wanderer Pro as well as the TS Street Hunter and Pro versions are all classed as 125cc.
In Japan 50cc is classed as a Moped and you can use your car licence. 51cc to 125cc you need a limited motorcycle licence.
This is different in many countries. Many countries allow up to 125cc with a car licence. I don't know about Sweeden.
