If it can play on 40-60 fps on 1080p minimum settings on an integrated intel gpu on the laptop... that should be the minimum for any game, for the students with "work computers" bought by their parents. (16gb ram)

For a game dev, having a concise list of issues is like gold. They usually have to mine that stuff from scattered feedback amidst less valuable feedback.
And then sort out the legitimate complaints from the whiners lol
@@3nertia Typically bug trackers don't contain the whining that you see on see on social media. I'm not a game dev, but I am a dev, and I leave social media to the PR department. If they find a legitimate bug instead of whining, they can submit it to the tracker (or confirm its status, etc.). I would imagine a lot of games are the same way, since whiny forum posts tend to miss both accurate information on the problem and on the platform from which it was run.

The amount of fixes they showcased here are already a milestone, they should get a well deserved break, they actually fucking did it.

I actually am a bit of a workaholic myself 🤣
But rest assured the entire company hasn't crunched in years. Every time someone is working outside of normal hours, we ask them to stop and take some rest; no one works on the weekends as well. There's no need to crunch when you have good producers that knows how to schedule tasks well.
This is how developers should respond to feedback instead of trying to insult the players.
Indie devs do, just look at the patch notes for Palworld. They made tons of changes that players requested.
Most devs around the world don't insult players. Don't believe twitter is the majority. It's not. It's the vocal minority.

To be fair, this isn't a typical "listen to the players" situation, it's a very asymmetric business relationship.

You need to be firm on what you want your game to be like though. You won't be able to please everyone and some things just make the game worse. Haven't played this game though so don't really know in this case but these mostly seemed like good additions

honestly this is a good thing. too many devs don't play enough variety of games and they just don't know these things. i'm starting to realize this as I have been studying to become a indy dev music composer , i play a ton of variety of games. i just notice some devs don't at all and it's holding back their innovative creative abilities

Game definitely needs a Map Editor for creating custom Maps, if they add it let the community participate in a "tournament" for "best map" every e.g. 4 month - the best map gets added to the general map pool. Also some sort Surfer Map as in CounterStrike would be cool.

@@tamashuszar8289 don't really have time anymore - gaming, is at this point in my life, something I just can't afford anymore. Too much of a time investment, that's why I wrote a comment. If ppl like the idea, someone will suggest it.
Feel like it would be a LOT of work but almost necessary for a game like this, feels like the final form of what this could be having a big custom map scene

@@Boss_Fight_Index_muki No I just checked out their website, basically they're a publisher now. The game isn't BY them, the developer enters this agreement basically as a way to promote their game, seeing as Asmon has reach. The game is by "Bitcake Studio"
On stream you said several time that you weren't going to tell your devs what to do. Glad to see you are actually stepping into a real developer role and not just a bag of money for these teams. Being a dev himself if going to be a great story arc and learning experience for Asmon. Really looking forward to seeing his growth in this realm. Also looking forward to seeing how he deals with people either liking or NOT liking a game they feel he's responsible for. Being on the other end of his own type of criticism I'm sure will be a really interesting learning experience.
Asmongold isn’t a developer in this situation, he is literally the publisher.
@@seanheller3335 A developer is literally anyone that works on the production of a game. that includes playtesting and giving feedback on changes that need to be made. Asmond Gold is a developer by definition. Literally
Just wanted to let you know that on steam each game you are publishing on steam has different instances of your mad mush mushroom with one being "mad mushroom" and the other being "mad mushroom media inc" which might affect how much your games get browsed and viewed
I am very interested to see how Asmon’s team does in their first 5-10 publications. I assume they will do very well, but the numbers will tell the story. Update in 5 years, see you soon.
I mean, having Asmongold to market it already makes it have a massive advantage over other games made by small teams.

I dont remember if this was a thing but I liked vampire survivors mechanism where once you max a curio it gets bonus effects or even a system that incentives you to combine some curios max them and they turn into a legendary
i think the hades duo boon system might fit the game better, still i agree having some intended combos and different benefits for using them is a good idea

I'd love to see some flair with the ghost curio. Right now it appears to just circle around you. It'd be great if those ghosts had a slightly randomized pathing within a circle around your character, as opposed to just circling.

I really appreciate the transparency from the dev and how they are open to criticism and worked hard to maintain the game.
Legit feedback regarding the air control. If I were in their team, I would probably suggest an extra dash while in the air because if you use that grapple thing, it's easy to predict where you land making it useless in combat. Adding a dash would be better like you air grapple on hte left then mid fall you dash right. It gives a mind game to players which makes it more hard for you to get hit........ hard but not impossible since the falling is kinda slow.

So this is the 1st game made by Asmond's game publishing company (Mad Mushroom). i normally don't like the look of Americ-anime however, in this specific case, it looks really good. Kinda like anime Looney Toons. It'll still look good 10 years later.

The dash-charge thing Bunny has in The First Descendant, Volt in Warframe has had it for years. I LOVE it! I wish more electric-element characters had it in games!
"Do the same game but with swords and melee" That's like 3 steps from Warframe.
I feel like the strafing and running animation could be tweaked. The leg moves sorta look "off".

Yeah I have been loving atomic picnic. I am not as active as some of the others on discord, but a few of us def brought up some of these issue as well. The community and dev team are supportive and active on the discord. Waiting impatiently for full release of the game lol.

i guess that is a bit confusing when there is a lot of ability on screen, too much bullets flying around too many colors and lights
Yeah, I feel the same. Splatoon does a great job at remedying this. There are 2 main ink colors, and the maps are typically grayed out so you don’t confuse the colors. Plus the shape of the ink trail left by a weapon is a dead giveaway of what weapon was just used. You’ll never confuse a pink Trizooka with a pink Wavebreaker
I hate this crutch in games so much, just throw a bunch of obnoxious spastic colors and effects to cover up the lazy barebones combat and basic weightless animations.

As someone who is trying to make an action RPG, implementing melee combat is really difficult. I feel like melee combat requires at least 2 or 3 times more work than implementing shooting mechanics, animation alone requires more work

Oh I think I played this on itch io, was pretty good. Didn't like the close spawning enemies. I would spinr around constantly killing enemies.
honestly i feel like publishing under asmons name is insane. i wouldve 100% ignored this game but now ive seen asmon and soda play it, they keep talking about it, now ill probably end up playing it. im 100% being influenced to play a game i never would have due to media coverage. this is like a golden ticket to any dev, having an immediate audience of millions that can upstart growth and spread to people outside the OTK sphere.

The gameplay was nice. My biggest feedback is to add more enemies spawning behind the player because it feels like i can just run backward forever and kite the enemies without being needing to be aware of the rest of my surroundings.

Thank god, an actual developer that understands the importance of getting problems sovled. Making sure your game plays well goes a very long way in making sure players keep playing your game.
Slowdowns on reload is actually a feature on several game, even in destiny 2 your reload is interrupted if you sprint while reloading.

I was more impressed with the idea of a 5 page document when I didn't know that OTK was also producing this game. Doesn't seem very surprising that a studio would listen to all the complaints of the people giving them money, lmao.
This is actually really good, I think "Mr. Gold" made some good calls and I think those abilities will balance out into some good new stuff

On the reload stacks, I would rather have it be that you lose 50% of the stacks each time you fail. Losing everything sounds annoying.

I’ve played it and it’s fun, but the power scaling doesn’t feel as substantive as something like Risk of Rain 2

This is actually sick. After watching, I'm now extremely interested in this game, where I wasn't before and forgot it existed fairly quickly. It's now wishlisted, and I will be buying this just to support good game dev practice! And the game being fun and interesting will just be a bonus! Especially since I see the pricing being realistic for what it is, and for that I'll be hoping for a steam 4pack so I can gift my homies to have fun with as well. Good job all around from the devs, and from asmon&community for having the focus on good gameplay above all else! I'll play a game with a bad story and ok graphics 100% of the time if it's fun to play, vs a game with a great story and great graphics but is boring to play!!
