Make Your Own Chalk Paint!

We attempted to make the world’s most matte paint by mixing DAP Plaster of Paris with 2 different types of paint to create our own chalk paint!
If the matte paint available at the stores just isn’t quite matte enough for you… do we have a video for you! Today we’re mixing our own chalk paint by adding DAP Plaster of Paris and water to latex paint to create what just might be the worlds most matte paint!
Yeah, but does it work? You’ll have to wait and see 😉

I think you should try this w/ veneer plaster instead and you can use more if it than plaster of paris for way less. which will let you add more to get a grittier look~

This is great. I don’t think I can find that paint here in Washington, DC. I’ll definitely try this with Matte paint. This will really look amazing for accent walls

How does the finish of this compare to your "Flat and Easy Modern Textured Wall Finish!" video? Very similar ingredients, is it the same?

Thanks! It’s very different. Chalk paint is more subtle and the other video is more like a Roman clay. The modern wall finish is applied and finished with a knife or trowel.
