    Google says this could be the reason for my Tahoe having high fuel smell. Thanks for this video. Its a cheap enough part to try first.

    2001 5.3 Tahoe 170K.
    I have a code P0300 with multiple misfires on different cylinders. It started shortly after I pump a full tank of gas. It made me think that there was something wrong with the gasoline, but I have never had problems using different types of gasoline in the past. I have newer spark plugs and coils buy I check every single part that could potentially cause a misfire including all sensors. I was ready to bring it to the shop when I saw fuel coming out of the vacuum line that connects to the fuel pressure regulator. The hose elbow is cracked. I have ordered an original part. I will report back as soon as I install it. Thank you for your video.

    I will say this, I replaced with exact part and plastic white ring broke and made it leak gas. Got another one same brand and didn’t have white ring. Wasn’t sure about it. But used it anyway and so far so good. Would recommend taking the white ring off.

    Could this possibly be the reason for my multiple misfire code? Just came up after I replaced the fuel filter.

    • @jamllcmusicradio7025
      @jamllcmusicradio7025 Год назад

      A fuel pressure regulator works to maintain proper and consistent pressure for the injectors during a variety of driving conditions. Pressure that is too high can cause misfiring and increase vehicle emissions. Low pressure can cause poor vehicle performance and slow - or no - starts.

    I get a p0308 code on my 2002.tahoe Indicating problem on cyl 8. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and coil on number 8 but code still there. Thinking about replacing the injector. Could this be the culprit?

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  2 месяца назад

      Since you already eliminated the spark plug and coil the only thing left would be a bad fuel injector or loss of compression. Unless there’s an issue with the new coil but most likely not. You could always swap coil with another one and see if the misfire moves with that coil. But if I were you I’d try a new injector.

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE

      That sounds like an issue with your check valve which is built into the fuel pump. GM vehicles are notorious for the check valves going bad. The check valve is supposed hold the fuel pressure with the engine off so what’s happening is it slowly drains that fuel back into the tank overnight. Only way to fix that is by replacing the fuel pump. If your interested I did do a video on this as well ruclips.net/video/KrcL0LXOjJY/видео.htmlsi=4iCY3K0eNYSkKYPi

    • @BLUECOLLARGARAGE
      @BLUECOLLARGARAGE  Год назад +1

      Assuming you have the 5.7L unfortunately it’s not as easy as the 5.3 in the video. It is located underneath the upper intake manifold which requires removal of that and also draining the cooling system. And unfortunately I don’t have a video on that right now.

      @@zman5970 the one in my video is a flex fuel so the vacuum line nipple comes out middle of the regulator and the non flex fuel vehicles it the nipple will come off the bottom of the regulator. The snap ring I was referring to is more of a clip I guess, it’s the one that keeps the regulator tight against the fuel rail just make sure that’s snapped all the way in the grooves and and is facing the right way. May want to just pull it out again and double check the o rings to make sure there’s no tears and they are not getting pinched.
