  • We stayed at the Assateague Island National Seashore and wanted to share our experience. Hope you enjoy!
If you want to Explore Assateague Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service) in Berlin, Maryland we highly recommend it. The wild horses at the National Seashore were a pleasure to see and be around. It was a great experience for our kids.

Great information thank you for sharing, so just to confirm, are you sure we can use the National park pass here at Assateage National seashore park? I was going to purchase the pass and asked REI and they said we couldn’t use it here.
    Thank you.

You can use the pass at the National Park. Not the state park. The state park is first, smaller and has life guards. The national park is further down the road and is huge. The national park pass will work since it is a national park. Hope that helps!

I would like to see the wild ponies, so I guess Nat'l is where I would need to be. One of the Nat'l Parks near me is not open now, hopefully all that will change by next year. I wish sooner, but it does not look like that. So, does a Nat'l Park pass cover the camping fees?
Thanks for the quick tour, liked and subscribed.

Appreciate the sub! No it covers entry but not camping. Check it out if you want to see the wild ponies. They are everywhere!

Federal budget cuts... look at the downtown mall in DC. It used to be a gem.

I’m not sure if you are referring to the limited facilities at the national park. They have been very basic for a long time. I believe it is just the type of camping experience they offer. There is actually a third camping option on assateague. You have to walk a few miles (or more) into a campsite. Campers must carry in their own water. Some people like to rough it. I prefer a flushing toilet. 😂

Susan, I never knew about the third option! Thanks for sharing.

I hear some people call the horses, ponies. They look too big to be ponies.
