I have injuries from thirty years ago at the Wedge that are now paying dividends in my fifties. Good times...

The Wedge is just stupid. I don't understand why people "surf" there. Clam digging every time.

What I learned from watching this: The Wave at The Wedge always has The Last Word.😑

playing in the ocean can be endlessly satisfying, but nature will test the unprepared.. One of the key elements of surfing is overcoming fear, and is one of the life skills exploring nature imparts, that wave pools can't duplicate. back when this spot was all bodysurfers, it was famous for broken collarbones, and lost fins.
I still have to smile when I remember my first trip in the washing machine there. My skills were low and I was getting thrashed underwater every which way, which freaked my inexperienced self way out. Then I realized my nightmare could easily end, as a stood up in water below my knees.

Nothing like a few laughs at some one else's expense. @brad , you found your new calling, your commentary is so hilarious. But seriously, the second last surfer, so committed on his back side, rail grab, and even after the nose gets buried, he pushes thru, and all while in the shadows of the shorey. Kudos to all these surfers.

Kook watching is one of my favorite pastimes when I’m not actually out there. Haha.

Oh i had a pretty bad cold at the beginning of this year and we had some beautiful swells, everyone was in the water except of me, but for real... if i think back it was the most entertaining thing to watch other surfers and especially surf students get absolutely destroyed and head over heals in the sand, i actually really enjoyed it and i was back in the water a bit later when the waves haven't been that crowded anymore (but also not as good)😂😂😂
So yeah, sometimes kook watching is even better than surfing yourself
