  • Gordon discusses the current mosquito problem with a vector ecologist (mosquito doctor) and several tactics for defense against mosquitos while outdoors this summer. Malaria, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, zika virus, and west nile virus are a very real concern right now in the U.S.. In this video Gordon and Doctor Markowski talk about effective insect repellants and best practices to eliminate mosquitos.

    If I have the grandkids out back playing I’ll always crack open a propane tank slightly just so a little gas starts to come out. Of course mount it somewhere that it’s safe and secure away from the little ones and the unlit gas coming out will attract every skeeter in that yard.

    Good info. Unfortunately, I’m the mosquito for my wife… they all bite me I stead of her! LoL the thermo cell does work some. But I have it under my chair and STILL get bit in my ankles!

    Great video one time I was on a hike and was debating pants or shorts but i caught 5 on my pant legs my friend recently got lime disease because a tick he is fine though

    • @grimgranite
      @grimgranite  Год назад

      Yeah, ticks are no joke! I usually wear pants in the woods and I treat my clothes with permethrin which does a great job keeping them at bay. The Thermacell does a great job at camp keeping the mosquitos away.

    Would be interested on video about combat photography. From the staged ones mid 19th century (cameras were not fast enough to get combat photos) to what I think was the first combat photographs by Captain Peters on the 1885 Rebellion, to modern times with soldiers taking pictures with helmet mounted gopro.

    They didn't give you a promo code? Aside from helping your viewers save a couple of bucks, it helps that company track how many sales come from your viewers and if enough of us buy them that would help you with future sponsorship from that company. With that said I'm definitely going to buy a couple but I'd want you to get the credit for the purchase 🤷‍♂️

    I watched this video wondering if you were going to mention Thermacell. Really nothing else compares to their product. I bring several patio shields when car camping and I bring the portable thermacell for hiking and kayaking. I keep the portable in the Jeep at all times in case of emergency. I don't like being outside without one.
    Because I live in a tick infested area, I also wear clothing treated with InsectShield which is just permethrin that lasts for 70 washes. Much easier than having to treat the clothing myself.
    Thermacell + InsectShield means I come out of the summer without any insect bites or ticks on me.
