Indeed! I once read an article titled, "The Sexiest Man Alive Washes The Dishes". An article to bring women (and men) back to reality, that your husband is not Brad Pitt, but he's sexy cause he does the dishes. Can't remember if the article was in a local newspaper or just where I read it?
That gasket wasn't cleaned at all. I wash mine after each use, as well as the lid and blade. No deep cleaning needed or bad odors if you follow this pattern.
Great info. These Creami machines are pretty durable, if you take care of them. I’ve used mine twice a day, 365 days a year, for 16 months. Still going strong! Listen to Steve & clean your Creami, people. It works! 😃
Very timely video! I bought a Ninja Creami recently and have been using it a lot. I never thought to give it a deep clean like this, but I will start now. Thank you! :)
Thank you Steve , I returned a creami breeze because it stunk so bad and could not get the odor to go away. I bought another creami. (Not the deluxe) and loving it. I watched your video and went right out to the kitchen and cleaned my creami. Thank you for all your videos. I really appreciate your videos.
As usual, most helpful sir. I remember two things from your original review of this machine: how loud it is and the need to clean the auger / drill press shaft. From an OCD person, these tips are appreciated.
Excellent overview of deep cleaning my new deluxe creami! The brushes that come with glass straws like you used are so handy in small crevices! Your lemon sorbet is on my list of must try recipes. 👍🏻
And I don't recall seeing anything in the manual about how to properly clean the Creami, so I think that a couple of these areas could be easy to overlook.
@@SeriousKeto No mention of the gasket removal in my instructions (And to be honest I was afraid I might ruin it by removing it repeatedly) but after seeing you do it, so did I, and EEEEW that smell! I like the way you used just water to rinse the auger- Awesomeness-and again, no mention in their instructions) Safe and happy travels!
There are bundles for small and tiny brushes. While watching I thought some of the larger brushes would fit better. I actually just bought 2 sets for myself. One set of white for kitchen and appliance cleaning and one in black for household cleaning. You can pick them up pretty cheap. Thanks for the video. The husband and I are debating getting an ice cream maker , we will keep your recommendation in mind. Thank you so much for the video!!
Of all the machines I’ve ever bought I think this one is a miracle. It turns flavored protein powder and any form of milk like plant or Fairlife into a Hagen das type ice cream. I adore it. Also I have the Breeze which is easier to use and clean. Thanks for your channel! Well. Worth the $200.
I never thought of doing that! I even have protein powder that is called "chocolate milkshake," so it makes sense. Thank you for a great idea. (And thank you to the video creator for the good idea on how to get rid of the gunk inside the lid, which is what brought me to this video.)
Great video! We I used to work with a Paco Jet when I was a pastry chef and the Creami is the homemade version at its finest. We used to do this with the Paco Jet. Super important for longevity of your machine. Thanks for shooting this!
I remove the lid's gasket and submerge/soak them in vinegar and hot water solution. Then I fill my Water Pik with plain warm water, turn it on high, and place the nozzle up against the lid's various external holes and crevices. It injects a pulsing water jet at speeds high enough to dislodge everything. You're welcome.
Thank you for showing this. I was hesitant to get a Creami not knowing if it could be cleaned well. I use a dilute solution of bleach to soak gaskets and lids of travel cups, might help sanitize plastic parts of the Creami as well.
I just ordered the Creami Deluxe and waiting for delivery. This video was right in time and awesome. I will be making a lot of Keto Chow ice cream as well as regular. Ice cream has always been my diet downfall but now I will be able to really enjoy it on my Keto journey.
Last night, my grandson wanted the birthday cake flavor of Keto Chow for ice cream. I find it terribly sweet, so we sprinkled on on some Flavor God pumpkin pie seasoning and we both though that was pretty wonderful. I hope you enjoy playing around with different flavors as much as we have.
Great information! The only thing I also have to do occasionally is use a toothpick if any crud is stuck at the plastic circular crease when the blade arm is retracted. Definitely needs a cleaning cycle that can pause when the arm is extended!
Thank you so much for this video! I never thought to remove the gasket or put water in it and run it. I have been struggling to clean it and this will make it so much easier.

I’ve been trying to figure out if you can actually remove the very top of the lid that holds the blade as like he pretty much said, it’s a compartment that does get gunk in it and only a tiny scrubber (he did show cleaning with a tiny scrubber) can get to. Mines broke after a year :( not sure what's broken, but making grinding noise and blade keeps falling off, sometimes as soon as it hits ingredients, often at the bottom, been working fine till a few days ago. Also their customer support is by phone only, the worst method. Due to not having written proof of what was said, lack of photos etc. They did do live video call but was hard for them to see the damage, due to lighting and the fact the ridges are in the hole of the paddle. Where photos can turn flash on and set the shot up. Even though they say put a support ticket in or email them on website, you just get an automated email back saying we can't offer support by email, please phone us. Why even offer it on website then.
Do Ninja say it’s safe to run it with straight water like that? I am pretty nervous about doing anything with it that voids the warranty if it’s not how they advise cleaning it
There is no warning against it. I'm pretty sure the Creami has a smoothie setting, so I don't believe there is an issue exposing the spin rod to liquid. I’d recommend using the mix-in setting,as it spins more slowly.
Nice to know if our Kitchen Aid ice cream freezer ever breaks down. A question, do you have to use a powder or can I make our family’s Lemon sherbet? Thanks Steve, always appreciate your videos.
I think that really depends on how often you use the Creami and how well you clean it after every use. I'm sorry that I don't have a more definitive answer.
I don't have a ninja creamy either.I love the ninja products however and I do have the Ninja blender and while it does take a couple of times to blend it it will be just as creamy as I believe what you get from the ninja creamy. Bit yes it is nice to see a man who will cleans.😂
I had to use a nut picker to remove the gunk from the "auger" part of my creami breeze. It's to hard to get out the gasket on the breeze model. What's your professional opinion about applying a light coat of petroleum jelly on the auger part (kind of like they do to ice cream machines at restaurants).
I bought this machine one month ago and have been using and cleaning each time I use it. But the problem is that the shaft goes back inside the machine and we should have access to that compartment. I put baking soda with hot water to do the cleansing, but I definitely miss a way to access the inside compartment where the shaft is. Ninja should have thought about that. Thank you anyway 🙏🏽
I got some frozen yogurt up in the hole where the drill goes on the deluxe upon it retracting. How do I get that out? And is it dangerous? Will it get out on my next run when the drill goes down you think? It naturally got up there when it was done with my second re-spin that had made the frozen yogurt really creamy, this making some of it go up with the drill. I did try and get a cloth up there, but the gap is just way too small! I've only had my deluxe for a week as it JUST came to Europe. I see crews, but I tdon't wanna take it apart.
I wanted to get the deluxe Creami, since they advertised it with better cleanability. Would you say that is the case and worth the extra money for the deluxe, or should I just go and get the original Creami instead (they are heavily discounted in europe currently)
I soak mine in bleach once every couple of weeks. But if you clean it after every use, its 2 mins vs alot longer. I've never found anything under my gasket either
Wieso bitte 6 monate prep? Mit der aktuellen form könntest du in 3 monaten auf der bühne stehen...klar ist langsam diäten besser, aber du verzichtest auf 4-8 wochen aufbau. Das ist signifikant
I just give the lid, with blade attached, a good water rinse with a strong sink sprayer, then store it in the freezer. Nasty, stinky germs can't grow when frozen. To use it, I just again rinse it under water to thaw it, paying special attention to the lock button. That button freezes and must be free moving before you try to lock it to a container. So much easier than cleaning it!
How to Clean your Ninja Creami Clean Removable Parts: After eating your dessert - Dissemble and clean paddle, outer bowl lid, remove o-ring from under outer bowl lid, pint container and outer bowl with warm soapy water and brushes in basin; then use fine brush on the 3 port openings on the top of the outer bowl lid; then rinse with water including agitator rinsing within the 3 port openings of the outer bowl lid. All removable parts can be put in the top shelf of a dishwasher Cleaning the Shaft: 1) Clean the exposed shaft by wiping with dishcloth, then scrub shaft with soapy brush and rinse with clean water dishcloth 2) Install outer bowl (without inner bowl) 3) Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in 4) When the paddle blade reaches the bottom of the bowl unplug the Ninja Creami 5) Unlock the bowl and dislodge the paddle 6) Clean the extended shaft with soapy brush and rinse with clean water brush 7) Plug Ninja Creami back in and shaft retracts 8) Install inner bowl fill water to fill mark and add 1 drop Dawn 9) Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in 10) Install inner bowl and add water to fill mark / Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in Cleaning Complete Note: For added cleaning all removable parts are top shelf dishwater safe.
That's just how you should clean that machine after every use. It's always easier to remove fresh ice cream, even if it's thick and sticky, than to try and losen and remove residue that dried up. And if it gets smelly there's already bacteria growing. So I'd rather thoroughly clean it after every single use.
I don't have a Ninja Creami, but I love a man who cleans!

With the Deluxe model you get a "milkshake" setting. I'll bet that is a better choice for cleaning mode since it is meant to handle liquids.
If you get alot of hard gunk on the metal bit, take a cloth and cover it in vinegar and soak it . itll come right off.
But wipe after every use.

You can, but you’d still need to remove the gasket and I doubt a dishwasher would get the holes I do with the small brush.
They should sell a cleaning kit
Wieso bitte 6 monate prep? Mit der aktuellen form könntest du in 3 monaten auf der bühne stehen...klar ist langsam diäten besser, aber du verzichtest auf 4-8 wochen aufbau. Das ist signifikant
This woman on fb is claiming that using water ruined her machine. She claims the rod cleans the machine, she had black grease coming out of it.😊
I can only speak from my experience.
You "accidentally" knocked it off the counter so you just "had" to buy a new one. LOL
It wasn’t intentional, but I’m definitely making way more ice cream with the Creami than I did with the Dash.
You have a radio voice.
Heard they go on fire. I still want to buy the breeze
Please post your source for saying that they go on fire. If that were case, I'm sure there'd be a recall.
Oh no. Please dont gross me out, please don't gross me out...😟
You certainly don't have to watch this.
Twice a week?? We use ours twice a day!
Definitely getting your money's worth. 🙂
How to Clean your Ninja Creami
Clean Removable Parts:
After eating your dessert - Dissemble and clean paddle, outer bowl lid, remove o-ring from under outer bowl lid, pint container and outer bowl with warm soapy water and brushes in basin; then use fine brush on the 3 port openings on the top of the outer bowl lid; then rinse with water including agitator rinsing within the 3 port openings of the outer bowl lid. All removable parts can be put in the top shelf of a dishwasher
Cleaning the Shaft:
1) Clean the exposed shaft by wiping with dishcloth, then scrub shaft with soapy brush and rinse with clean water dishcloth
2) Install outer bowl (without inner bowl)
3) Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in
4) When the paddle blade reaches the bottom of the bowl unplug the Ninja Creami
5) Unlock the bowl and dislodge the paddle
6) Clean the extended shaft with soapy brush and rinse with clean water brush
7) Plug Ninja Creami back in and shaft retracts
8) Install inner bowl fill water to fill mark and add 1 drop Dawn
9) Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in
10) Install inner bowl and add water to fill mark / Power On / Select full bowl / Select Mix-in
Cleaning Complete
Note: For added cleaning all removable parts are top shelf dishwater safe.
Good tip on the unplugging to get the entire paddle shaft clean.
That's just how you should clean that machine after every use. It's always easier to remove fresh ice cream, even if it's thick and sticky, than to try and losen and remove residue that dried up. And if it gets smelly there's already bacteria growing. So I'd rather thoroughly clean it after every single use.
I don’t have one, I’m just here for the potential ewwe factor.
