Watch manufacturers, Seiko included don't think we are stupid. They KNOW we are. For the last five years they have been churning out watches that were overpriced without offering nothing to justify the price increase and have mostly got away with it. So, they have every reason to consider us as ...not very bright.
Marc from Long island watches gives his take on the seiko price increase. he has more insight than others. video title: Why Seiko Watches Have Gotten So Expensive
And then there's the real high end companies that know being rich doesn't equal smart and charges $30k for a watch that cost them a couple grand to make 😅

sapphire for that crystal. no way. People assume sapphire is always better bc of scratch resistance but it also has a diamond like ior making it milky and overly reflective. All those blue and purple coating to combat the glare is so ugly. Sapphire is great if you don’t want to see they dial.
@@MrMadvillan Plenty of (cheaper) watches that have sapphire with clear AR coating nowadays. Even boxed or top hat shaped. And they often are smaller brands, so if Seiko would go about it, at the scale they operate they could easily keep the costs down and put sapphire in for maybe a 20$ markup. That would justify the total price a lot more than being 20$ less and having softlex... Don't take my word for it, I've heard this narrative from several Seiko AD's who try to have the Seiko agent feed this back to Seiko Japan in hopes to change one or two things.
So you’re saying Seiko basically stole their strategy directly out of the Taco Bell playbook. What does everyone love? - Okay, let’s get rid of it…and then bring it back, but more expensive, and only for a limited time!
I think People need to watch the video Mark from Long Island Watch did on this subject. Seiko just killed the grey market, prices we're always similar we were just not playing rrp
I'm with the wife, I really like this look. It's somewhat minimalist/simple, but in my opinion not boring. Plus the colour scheme of blue/gold(ish) seems to be all the rage right now and I like it as wel.
While I mostly agree with many points, it really is unrealistic to expect the sort of prices we paid grey for the old Seiko 5s in today’s day and age. We were happy to pay $120 for an old SNXS on a grey market dealer but what were we really getting? A terribly outdated movement that couldn’t be handwound nor hacked, a godawful bracelet that made its way to the bin 10 seconds after peeling the stickers, basically no warranty to speak of and a mismatched case and bracelet. And we were happy to part with that money! Of course the retail price on these new releases is excessive, they are just released after all, but the watch has been improved and this has a cost, especially when taking into account warranties, which is something that tends to fall by the wayside when reviewing watches. Mark’s video on the issue was a real eye opener.
And now, you can spend three fiddy hundred pounds for a watch with a terribly outdated movement, a godawful bracelet that will make its way to the bin ten minutes after peeling the stickers, a pitiful warranty (the only good thing about the nh3X movement is that you don't need a warranty, but still) and a mismateched case and bracelet. Add a dive style bezel to add a little bit of randomness with the alignment and you got yourself a DEAL
The secondary market shows the value of these watches. Whether they sell or not shows the value of new watches. The presenter sulking that a popular style is being sold at a higher price because it can command that price is madness. Rolex ARE NOT WORTH THEIR PRICES - but people pay it because the brand name can command that price.
@@taham33 Exactly. I still remember when you could buy an Alpinist from Japan at 400 euros. I fact i owned two of them. Now they cost double, and still have the same shitty quality control issues, and the same subpar movement which sucks in accuracy even compared to a 20y old eta 2824.
Si davvero il prezzo diventa molto interessante quando è presente la marca dell'orologio , ma dietro c'è anche una garanzia che l'azienda ti dà nel prezzo c'è anche quello , cosa che nei microbrand è una utopia e hai in mano niente
I'm a woman and love this watch on my wrist. it definitely does look 70s retro, more so in the blue version though, which is what I picked after trying both the black and the blue in store
My girlfriends dad bought me the older SNXS in grey a while back and it quickly became my favourite watch despite the poor water resistance and lack of hacking and hand-winding. After seeing these new models in person it felt underwhelming almost. For over £300 I would've expected a lot more. The value to be had with the older models is still by far the best selling point for me, They're stylish, versatile, and easily repairable. Something about the new design just doesn't click for me. If I had to get a similar styled watch I'd probably go for the Erebus Ascent, it's a spec monster and just looks amazing with its dial variations.
Seiko's present such poor value for money in the modern watch market, it's unreal. I think a lot of people in this space have completely forgotten what made them so appealling in the first place: 1) They were cheap. 2) They were decent quality. We've now reached a point where Chinese watches can be had for way under 100 quid with comparable case finishing to a Seiko in the 200 or even 300 range, and if you're willing to spend the same amount of money as you would on one of these Seiko's, you could get something way more interesting with a better movement and finishing from any number of microbrands. They're good watches, but they just don't make sense anymore from a value POV and I don't get why people keep buying them these days.
@@pokie6087 As someone else already highlighted, Seiko and Miyota are nothing but a movement manufacturer to these companies, which I'd argue it makes it even worse. If other companies can afford to buy Seiko movements, not at manufacturing-cost (which is what it would cost Seiko), but at bulk-purchase-cost, and STILL deliver a better value watch than Seiko themselves can for less money, then it speaks volume about how bad Seiko actually are when it comes to price gouging.
I have the complete old SNXs series 73,75,77,79 they are just right for the price. But seeing the new snx, it really looks a lot better than in pictures and videos. Regarding the price, i dont have issues in buying because I have money. I think the new snsx is pretty good and will buy them
Very enjoyable video. Your wife knows what she’s talking about. The design is better, and strangely, the vintage look is more up to date than the old. I’d rather go with the new model. Don’t forget, manufacturers are also adopting sustainability measures to the supply chain, and all but the smallest makers can do this easily and maintain a healthy profit for growth. I’ll click on your other videos with interest.
Lorus makes the same watches for half or less - I have one in green dial with a stunning sunburst overlaid with a square grid. I polished the center links and now its an absolute stunner. Also works really well on straps.
Well it's obviously not the same, but close enough to the old model. With its 7s26, rudimentary case finishing and agricultural folded bracelet it absolutely doesn't hold a candle to the new model. Still, at a price that seems to be a bit lower than even the old model, it could be a decent pick for the price, especially if the case doesn't float above the wrist. Lorus also does their take on the SNZG, called the RL403BX9, but I'm most tempted by the all gold RL450BX9!
I actually like this design. Now the Erebus looks tempting, until factoring in shipping and VAT which adds 100 quid to the price, leaving the seiko looking like not so bad value after all.
I've seen the price hikes in the recent years. In fact, the last 6 to 8 years, some watches more than doubled in price, while remaining exactly the same. I used to own several models, so i can actually make a comparison to what they sell now. Seiko, Longines, Oris, Squale etc. Price hikes from 50 to 200% on some models. For basically the same watches. Fortunately i already own some nice watches i managed to acquire years back when prices were normal, so now i just collect g-Shocks.
The dial is a beautiful shade of blue, but why on earth did they choose to go with the yellowish hour markers? It honestly ruins it for me, at any pricepoint, just looks like a silly combination of sporty/modern and vintage in my opinion
'Rinse Blue'. ....more like 'Rinse You'! Seiko were once moderately priced but recently have been fleecing customers since the rise of RUclips reviewers. Great video btw 🇬🇧👍🙂
I've modded my J-model SNXS with a regulated NH36, colour matching Japanese date wheel, Sapphire with AR coating, flat caseback, solid bracelet. Still paid less than the new one 😁
class material! I agree with what you said, I'm relatively "new" watch collector ( roughly 2 years ) and I've listened about seiko and how they are good, and I would really like to like Seiko and buy something new from them, but I can't really find anything that would make sense when I compare the price and what the watch offers to random Citizen for example. I know that Seiko has the heritage, but it just doesn't cut it .
Yup. You buy them, wear them, run the movement into the ground and then simply buy a new cheap watch 10 or 15 years later. That is why these price increases don't make sense (apart from inflation). They're not quality watches. And people pretend like there is this huge difference between 7s and 4R movements but at the same time deny that there is a huge difference between mineral and sapphire. All while Seiko are refusing to fit them with good bracelets which they can easily source from China where they already do most of their production anyway. Nothing can make a watch worth it's price or more like a proper bracelet. Solid links, screws, quick release, milled clasp and on the fly adjustment. And they are dirt cheap in China.
Can someone help? I want to buy a Seiko SNK371K1 from an independent store here in the UK. They're an official Seiko dealer but the model is discontinued. On the photo the date in the date window says 'SAM' which is French. Do all Seikos have other languages on the date wheel as well as English or should I be wary? Thanks
@@giuliopassamilporto1359 I ain’t buying that shit, I just prefer not live like an npc and call things out/write my opinions, I guess that’s what the comment section is for, dumbo 😂
Its funny how people that defined seiko for the hardlex crystal saying to us sapphire its just to expensive, and the watch price would go up considerably. Ohhh ya thats why you can go to any mod site and get a sapphire crystal for $20-$40 or even cheaper of shopped over sea. So if they sell them for that cheap and make a good profit from them that means they are getting then cheap. Seiko could do it even cheaper so whats the actual truth on why they dont use it?
I have 18 Seiko watches and just added two of this model to my collection, blue and silver (more champagne to my eye) and have zero regrets on my purchase. First, I'm in the U.S. and bought both watches for just under $300 each from two different sellers, so the price is significantly less than the stated one and my satisfaction is based on a watch that cost the lower amount. In terms of old versus new, I'd never own a non-hacking watch, so at any price the older watch was a non-starter for me. The lack of sapphire is always brought up about Seiko, and not one of my dozen and a half other Seikos has a single blemish in the crystal, so maybe this is not much of a big deal for basic wear in the usual day-to-day functions. I'm glad Seiko brought these updates out and don't feel "taken in" by the company.
I got myself a vintage Seiko Chronos 1983 JDM and it is my first Seiko for me. I think I love their older models more then their new ones even though they are not bad but getting more and more overpriced.
As someone who has completely ignored the Seiko 5 series (would not be able to identify any of them), I think this new one looks better than the previous one, and looks like more of a retro throwback than the previous one did. The price does seem a bit high for Seiko, but I'm having to adjust all of my price expectations these days.
Thanks for highlighting this Ben! Although you can link them together, they do represent a different watch buyer principle where the SNXS was that entry to mechanical watches and this one is well.. for the nostalgia? Glad you pointed out the triple naming on the website, it actually feels out of touch as I think it's the same group they try to approach with these names. I do not know where the price is going to land however I still think anything between 250-300eu there would be a market by value on just realistically adding inflation / the movement / the case. I'm just more in for that action from Citizen right now having two great small second everyday options out there (Tsuyosa small seconds & the new titanium small seconds) About your wife, assume it's the faux patina markers. Generally when people like a watch yet can't describe why, its the beige from the patina or a well finished watch (you just don't know how crisp metal can be before you see it with your own eyes), some assumptions here but where would we be without them! Thanks Ben!
I own the SNXS75, silver dial and gilt hands/markers, and I got the black dial of the new “SNXS”. I love both for different reasons. The original I have put on a jubilee style bracelet with solid links and screw pins. The polished centre links match the case better and it has a milled Rolex style clasp. I paid only the Aussie equivalent of £210 for the new one, so I think for the upgrades and different vibe being black dial with those cream accents, it was a good deal. Also the new one looks killer on a black leather strap!
I have an SNKL 55. And its case design is even closer to the new watch, even with brushed and polished parts. Needless to say, that they discontinued the SNKLs, too. Glad, I got mine quite a while ago for little money.
These watches hit the Australian market at $625. I bought the blue one for $440. They really are a great watch and the quality is great. I don’t have a problem with Hardlex, but that’s because I’m not hard on my watches. I’ve scratched mineral, and I’ve chipped sapphire but I’ve never damaged Hardlex. If you’re on the fence, just get one, you won’t regret it.
I hate to be a snob about Seiko but most Seiko watches don't impress me. Cheaply made, mass produced, stamped out by the bucket-load with terrible timing specs. For the money I'd rather get a g-shock
Hmm, I have full confidence in Seiko!❤ And if they need to increase the price then I guess that it is really something they need to do.. Let me explain my view point: That is making me worried about the world currency and inflation issues instead than Seiko is milking us! That we have a big issue with our fiat currencies that is soon not worth anything. So I think that the greater issue is not Seiko it is more our currency that spirals down and is diminishing in value!😢 Or in another way to say it: If Seiko were priced in Bitcoin (satoshis) currency instead. Then for example then we would have a price cut (!) in the price tag of the amount of Bitcoin that the watch costs from Seiko! When Bitcoin value goes up and less is needed to buy the same watch and Seiko still get what they need..😅 The totally opposite to what is happening to fiat currency that by default ALWAYS go down in value more or less speed that is called inflation and faster decline is hyper inflation..😢
It's better than the original in pretty much every way beyond the glass and the originals are still VERY available and VERY affordable. Every release isn't going to be groundbreaking especially a brand with as many references as Seiko
I'm going to go against the grain and say I really like this. The price isn't expensive when compared to other in house automatics you'll see in the store window. Mark from long island watches just did a video about Seiko prices and say's that our expectations are that in the 21st century, they should still be charging 90's prices.
@@chris9650 Hey no-one is holding a gun to anyone's head. You don't wanna buy it ? Buy something else. Simple. Honestly I think people like you aren't happy unless you're whining.
I'd perhaps consider, the champagne/beige variant, as it could perhaps make a half decent Datejust 36 alternative, and I really like a day/date function, but the lack of a sapphire crystal at this price point is truly criminal!!?
I think it looks great. And it is a sub 38mm. The comparison should not be the old price but rather what you have to pay elsewhere. Any other brand big or micro charges way more for vintage look, feel and sizing. Exceptions are Islander and Ali Express. Islanders become pricey when you ship them to Europe and Ali Express is a world I'm not interested in. In that competition clear win for Seiko.
You're right but most watch companies are ramping up the prices above inflation, just compare the price of the new Aqua Terra with a few years ago. I don't like it but unless the public stop paying the inflated prices it's not going to stop. After all Seiko isn't in the business of making watches they are there to make money. My SNKS77 (new) was less than a tenth of the current new price leaving plenty to change the bracelet for a jubilee style and put in double domed sapphire with ar, looks fabulous. I have a SNZH55K1 too, as standard its better than the new one. In my experience the 7s26/36 is more consistent than the nh35, so I'm just missing out on hacking which I can live with. Lack of hand winding is not a problem on a decent automatic.
I've left the Seiko 5 line behind. If you research Japanese sellers you will find a shedload of Prospex/Presage models. They have better specs and many can be picked up between £300 to £400. Still value in Seiko to be found.
I think it’s a really beautiful watch, at $200 I think this would sell like crazy. Too bad Seiko has no clue what we want anymore. Not surprised Seiko is still using folded links that look solid as every new Seiko five has a bracelet like that.
I'm glad I purchased my SARB033 before it got popular and when was under $300 U.S. Still my favorite automatic. I could sell it for more than double what I paid for but would struggle to get the same value with any other watches.
Yeah don't sell it. If the SARB came out today, it would probably be close to a $1000 MSRP. You can get similar value from a cocktail time today though, for substantially less than a 2nd hand SARB would set you back now. I suspect the same thing will happen when the cocktail time has gone out of production, and only its much more expensive replacements will be available. We'll look back and think "Shit did they _really_ change hands for so little? Why didn't I buy one in every color?"
@@demonstructie The only other bargain I found was 5 years ago with a PADI 62MAS(SPB071) for $800 Canadian. Without being a grail watch, the 6R15, sapphire crystal, screw down crown, unique two tone dial and bezel and wave pattern makes it stand out next to other dive watches. Work as a great sport and tool watch.
Bought the black version and it is better in everyway than the model it replaces (except one) and personally love the way it looks and fits. The price should start with a 2 not a 3 but the biggest gripe I have is the accuracy of the movement. It runs 20 seconds slow per day as does my Seiko Save the Ocean Turtle which simply isn't good enough. My old Seikos always run fast but by no more than 11 seconds per day including 7S26's . Put simply, if you really like it, get one at a discounted price but there are many other brands out there offering more for less with greater accuracy. Have you seen Seiko's new "Pogue"...£600 and for me other than the colours looks nothing like one, now that really is taking the Michael😮
I must admit I actually like the newer one much more. It looks way less homagey, has its own vintage unique vibe, and has a more proportional case. Even the newer Seiko 5 logo is better. It’s both vintage and modern, whereas the old one just looks incredibly dated. Overall, it just looks much better than the old one. And the kanji date wheel is such a cool addition. Yeah, it might be pricey and not have sapphire, but it deffo looks cooler and more well made imo. And it now hacks, has better WR, and a better movement. I think people are just getting caught in the current ‘bash Seiko’ trend.
I love Seiko watches. I think this New "SNXS" is a great improvement. I like its design and i think it's the perfect "vintage" watch for a young man. I tried micro brands but it's not for me, i think these watches doesn't have the same flavour as traditional brands like Seiko.
your brutal honesty but sincere assessment is really refreshing, thanks buddy, appreciate the attention to detail, some seikos i bought a few years ago i could not afford now, glad i did, they priced me out now..
Casio? Those guys that stick to their shitty chromed resin cases instead of steel for their digitals? And their very few steel cased digitals are extremely overpriced? That Casio? No thanks.
Seiko might not be trying to draw a connection between the SNSX87 etc and the recently discontinued SNXS 79 etc - I actually think its actually Seiko doing a re-release of the vintage 6619-8230 - when you look at the Seiko SNXS87 it's really a re-release of the Seiko 6619-8230 from the 60's.
They know you are! Despite horrific end links on almost all models, being very overpriced for what you get, non existing quality control and for every model a better looking and better quality option available from another brand you still buy them!
I do like these reissues, but the value of “new” Seiko releases seem to steadily go down. I think they are willing to lose some enthusiasts to gain more people who are just looking for a “great looking watch.” Thanks for your take on the watches!
Thanks for the video, Ben. Always enjoy your content. I have to say though, I don't think Rolex at all when I look at that watch. Maybe the masses who don't know anything besides what marketers shove into their face see it that way though. Thank God I don't understand. LOL
To be fair over the last few years, I've leaned more towards microbrands using Seiko movements than towards affordable Seiko models. The microbrands use similar movements, but the rest of the specs are usually better and they are cheaper! Nicer dials, better bracelets, sapphire crystals, etc... I'm not precious about the brand name. Give me the nicer watch with the better spec.
7:22 they are in fact solid links. the seam you see is not as a result of the links are folded. If you look close you can see the side links actually form an H shape and are attached to the middle link from the back and that's why you see the seam.
I haven't bought a Seiko at retail in so long. Seiko have absolutely executed the main thing that kept them relevant in my eyes: value for money. I always consider microbrands over Seiko these days.
The problem is people are looking at a bunch of old stock caliber 7S26 watches that had been on the market for a very long time and think that the next generation of watches with caliber 4R36 and 6R36 and other new movements should cost exactly the same at a time when the watch market is booming again.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from amzwatch and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
So it's watch for the same retail price inflation-adjusted. The very informative Long Island watch video on Seiko pricing aside, I would really like to see at least a sapphire crystal, as well as a better bracelet, but Seiko can't even get the latter correct on their higher-end watches
Just bought this for £270 brand new. This watch just speaks to me in terms of dial design even though it’s nothing special… it has character through small details such as the orange seconds hand, the fauxtina lume etc… gives a retro vibe. The last gen is much more stale and boring albeit being popular imo. Bens wife has a good opinion!!
On the face of it, people will pay regardless, its nice overall, it LOOKS like they did a bit of work considering the case is slimmer, but man, they deliberately dont put sapphire on these to screw you over, imagine if it was £400 with sapphire, simply more sales will happen because with watches, when someone wants it, they want it. As for myself, i would like it, but just if i dont feel like i get a complete package relative to the price, im less inclined to get it at all.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
Absolutely hate this single dome crystals. Even though I am myopic and wasn't the mobbed hyperopic chubby boy. This crystal is the reason for the dull looks.
This is kinda ridiculous honestly. Looking at US amazon right now, the SRPK87 is 300 USD. The same price that I paid for my SNJ025 'Arnie' 18 months ago. Admittedly the prices on those have also gone up, but when I went to check the Arnie pricing, in the second row down you have a Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive for 200 USD. Heimdallr and Steeldive continue to make better Seikos for the money than actual Seiko does in terms of their classic dive watches, it seems.
Please, Heimdallr and Steeldive are way worse than any Seiko I had. I have both. The cases are finished with an axe, the sapphire crystals are of the worst wuality poasible (transmission), the crown, bezels, everything that moves makes a grinding noise, and all kind of little “touches” that just scream “cheap Chinese clones here !” I have a Turtle Steeldive because I wanted to use its case for a mod (seemed rounder than other cases which I liked) and the Heimdallr is a MM300 homage made from Titanium that I also wanted to mod. Both were to poor quality to use their parts)
Have you done an all up best value watch video? My vote would be for the liw-m700d-1ajf, just got one for £148 - seems like a bargain for what it is compared to a lot of watches for twice the price.
The fact that they changed the snk800 series so much instead of keeping it's looks while fixing it's shortcomings will forever be a gripe I have with them. Also the prices are just another level of being mentally challenged.
as long as the market keeps buying them why would they upgrade their components and offer the watches for less money. that makes no sense. no matter what chinese brand will make 'better' watches, people always want to walk around with a seiko and not a shenglengdeng watch. Casio does the same, keeps using mineral cristals and cheap bracelets. because people still buy them as is.

You can always get a Lorus if you want a cheap Seiko. They're well made
Or buy a Chinese watch with a Seiko movement. Love my Cadisen.
My gf's dad bought me Trauma 😂
Remembering of course that those brands would be nowhere without Seiko, and to a lesser extent Miyota.

If I put a Porsche V12 engine in a Toyota, it doesn't make it a Porsche
@@pokie6087 As someone else already highlighted, Seiko and Miyota are nothing but a movement manufacturer to these companies, which I'd argue it makes it even worse. If other companies can afford to buy Seiko movements, not at manufacturing-cost (which is what it would cost Seiko), but at bulk-purchase-cost, and STILL deliver a better value watch than Seiko themselves can for less money, then it speaks volume about how bad Seiko actually are when it comes to price gouging.
True. Rolex offers a much better price/performance ratio.
Poor people, please don't interact with me. You're not allowed to have an opinion.
Which model is that one? Would love to take a look!
Which model
@@BensWatchClub I'll find out and get back to you
@@BensWatchClub it's the RL495AX9. I think they make a blue dial one as well
Well it's obviously not the same, but close enough to the old model.
Citizen usually provides a sapphire crystal.
So what’s in excess about SNXS, apart from price?
Mineral crystal at this price?? Damn they're smoking that good stuff eh?
The new Shog-urai or whatever it's called (SRPL11 & 13) also has hardlex and a 4R and they want £560 for them 😂
I’ll be purchasing one when the price goes down a bit more. Absolutely beautiful watch
Hahaha “Rinse you” is a understatement.
I've modded my J-model SNXS with a regulated NH36, colour matching Japanese date wheel, Sapphire with AR coating, flat caseback, solid bracelet. Still paid less than the new one 😁
if you could just point me to a useable thinner caseback, I would appreciate it, thanks
@@javiersaturno9689 I have the one from monsterwatches
I like the watch I got from amzwatch. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close amzwatch were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
amzwatch has set a new standard for replica watches. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. Its hard to tell the difference from the originals
class material!
Look for vintage Seiko. You can find some beauties from the 80's and 90's. I have two and I really love them. And they cost me around $50.
You've got that right; Seiko does think we're stupid
My first dive watch was a Seiko. It stopped. When repairing it was more than the watch was worth, it was also my last.
The watch isn't 11 mm as stated at 5:45, its actually 12.5 according to the specifications.
Thanks
4:20 White face with the blue hands. Does anyone one know any information on it, please? TIA
Damn seiko did us dirty with that cheeky bracelet trick 😢
You can always decide not to buy it and stop complaining... the doctor certainly won't prescribe it to you.😂

When people are saying #amzwatch is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Orient has the same model but they always stop after step two. Please come back Mako USA II.
I'm just more in for that action from Citizen right now having two great small second everyday options out there (Tsuyosa small seconds & the new titanium small seconds)
About your wife, assume it's the faux patina markers. Generally when people like a watch yet can't describe why, its the beige from the patina or a well finished watch (you just don't know how crisp metal can be before you see it with your own eyes), some assumptions here but where would we be without them!
Thanks Ben!
We got use to gray market pricing that Seiko has clamped down on hard. The SNSX was $50 5 years ago on Amazon.
Just ask why did they change the 36mm to a 38mm? What if I want a 36mm? (I do) with seiko I need to pay 2.5k for a 36mm case now
I own the SNXS75, silver dial and gilt hands/markers, and I got the black dial of the new “SNXS”.
I think it looks great. It reminds me of the Orient Star Classic.
I hate to be a snob about Seiko but most Seiko watches don't impress me. Cheaply made, mass produced, stamped out by the bucket-load with terrible timing specs.
For the money I'd rather get a g-shock
Hmm, I have full confidence in Seiko!❤
And if they need to increase the price then I guess that it is really something they need to do.. Let me explain my view point:
That is making me worried about the world currency and inflation issues instead than Seiko is milking us!
That we have a big issue with our fiat currencies that is soon not worth anything.
So I think that the greater issue is not Seiko it is more our currency that spirals down and is diminishing in value!😢
Or in another way to say it:
If Seiko were priced in Bitcoin (satoshis) currency instead. Then for example then we would have a price cut (!) in the price tag of the amount of Bitcoin that the watch costs from Seiko!
When Bitcoin value goes up and less is needed to buy the same watch and Seiko still get what they need..😅
The totally opposite to what is happening to fiat currency that by default ALWAYS go down in value more or less speed that is called inflation and faster decline is hyper inflation..😢
That’s a nice looking Bulova. Well done Seiko. Well done.
The watch is perfect, the only thing missing from this watch is that they did not use sapphire glass.
May God have mercy on your soul if you genuinely believe the the watch not having sapphire is the only thing keeping it from perfection..
Great video, thanks for the insight
It's better than the original in pretty much every way beyond the glass and the originals are still VERY available and VERY affordable. Every release isn't going to be groundbreaking especially a brand with as many references as Seiko
I'm going to go against the grain and say I really like this. The price isn't expensive when compared to other in house automatics you'll see in the store window. Mark from long island watches just did a video about Seiko prices and say's that our expectations are that in the 21st century, they should still be charging 90's prices.
I will pay 21 century prices when their QC comes.into the 21st century.

Hey no-one is holding a gun to anyone's head.
MaMaCoo has set a new standard for replica watches. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. Its hard to tell the difference from the originals
I'm just wondering when Seiko will release a simple Presage with no display back and no date window with the already gorgeous cocktail dials.
Idk, I'm wearing the new SNXS now and I love it...
Just bought a Seiko snke 61 for 113, all of the cheap stuff, folded links, 7s26, hardlex, I am kind of charmed by it to be honest.
It looks nice, certainly an improvement over the snxs.
Yes. Just look at their marketing.
+1
not to mention, i don't buy specs, i buy a watch that i like. always looking at specs vs money is the opposite of enjoying watches.
Both of you guys are spot on. Exactly the way it is.
I did buy this for 220 pound and I am glad I did. I think it's the right price, I wouldn't buy it for the full price
I love Seiko watches.
I think this New "SNXS" is a great improvement. I like its design and i think it's the perfect "vintage" watch for a young man. I tried micro brands but it's not for me, i think these watches doesn't have the same flavour as traditional brands like Seiko.
Seiko sees this comment adds an additional 150$ to the price tag of every watch they make
your brutal honesty but sincere assessment is really refreshing, thanks buddy, appreciate the attention to detail, some seikos i bought a few years ago i could not afford now, glad i did, they priced me out now..
Casio, please take over. They easily could have solid Quartz cash cows that replace the Seiko nonsense.
Casio? Those guys that stick to their shitty chromed resin cases instead of steel for their digitals? And their very few steel cased digitals are extremely overpriced? That Casio? No thanks.
They do, look at the Lineage and Oceanus’ line of watches. Only issue is they’re mostly Japan only.
I prefer old version
It's still 100 dollars for the old one. Looks way better than the rerelease
What's the rating score??????
Orient is new seiko with prices they are offering that's what i think

Why that orange hand, why orange?
as long as the market keeps buying them why would they upgrade their components and offer the watches for less money. that makes no sense. no matter what chinese brand will make 'better' watches, people always want to walk around with a seiko and not a shenglengdeng watch. Casio does the same, keeps using mineral cristals and cheap bracelets. because people still buy them as is.
