The SNKL23 was my first automatic watch, my wife bought it for me for our wedding when we didn’t have much money. Even though my collection has grown considerably with much more expensive watches it’s still my favorite and most special. Truly is an incredible watch, even though I might be biased due to sentimental value.
This is what I love about our hobby the price tag doesn't really matter if it's a great watch it's a great watch
I must say that that was one of the best reviews of RUclips, all youtubers considered. Details, interesting, constructive, all inclusive of most of the Seiko, one of my favorite brand. Very, very well done!!

I have a Seiko Kinetic, same as reviewed. It’s incredible. The kinetic movement takes a few days to get up to speed out of the box, but after that it runs for days on the stand and it looks amazing. At a glance, I would have thought they were over $1000 but no, only a couple of hundred from Jomashop. I paid similar money for an Orient and the Seiko craps all over it and it doesn’t weigh a ton either. (My Orient weighs in at 160grams and is painful to wear after a while). If you want one, don’t hesitate.
The SUR503 is a very inviting design. Would be cool to get it in a Solar or Auto movement. Seiko pulled off the angular, experimental design without looking like a mall watch.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I believe on your mention of SUR390 that you actually meant SUR309. I do not see a SUR390 listed anywhere but the 309 is exactly the one you are showing on this vid.

I have a SNK375 which is pretty much the same watch as SNK371 but with a black dial and red 20 minute track. It’s my favorite watch

I have a seiko 7N42-7C00 watch that I bought around 10 years ago. The watch has been great, reliable, and beautiful. I would recommend the seiko brand to everyone.
SUR series is a hidden jem. I have the 307. 40mm, silver sunburst dial, sapphire crystal, 100m wr. Paid $120 usd. Bracelet isn’t great but it has 20mm lug width and looks good on almost every strap.
I recently got the SRPG35 which seems like quite a good budget Hamilton field alternative.

This was the first time I’ve seen a mention to the SNK366. It’s one of my favorite Seikos. The SNKK87K1 is another hidden gem.
How is the Seiko SUR373 Titanium for a dress+daily wear watch?
So for a person who’s interested in buying a FIRST time watch. Barely getting into watches. What would you personally recommend? Whats best for starters? Everyday wear. I wear alot of gold. I just dont want the want it all gold. Preferably two tone. Thanks.
The first automatic watch that I ever got was the Seiko SNK789. My dad gave it to me when he noticed that I was interested in watches. I need to get it serviced so that I can start wearing it again every day.
Love my Seiko SKA791! I switched the band for a metal band instead of the leather. It changed the look and feel of the watch a lot!

Quite a few there to explore, agree about SNKXS(77 in my case) comes with hardlex which scratches, replaced with double domed sapphire looks fabulous and the dial really pops.
Wow I have a lot of these models, I really like seiko watches but usually only buy one only if I find a deal on one since a lot of outlets overcharge for them.

I own a few Seiko's and I think one of the best value Seiko's you can buy, although not automatic but is meca-quartz is the SBTR027 or other colour way's. I've swapped the SRPG29 Oyster bracelet onto mine and often get compliments about it.
The Sportiva Macchina Honeycomb Dial Seiko is one of my faves , it is similar to that last one on the list ...also I'm a 8 inch wrist guy so I love my Coutura beast
Seiko Sagz083 is amazing. $300 new, Titanium, Sapphire, Radio Wave Control, 100m water resist, Solar. You can press the button on the size to see if it connected last night. Amazing piece. What would you improve? It's beautiful, classy and dead on accurate.

I've been wearing an SRPJ85. It's a 24 hour dial field watch, almost identical to the SRPG27 but with a smaller 36mm case. They seem to making a 36mm variant of the Aviator style field watch as well. I like it, if it was lost or stolen I'd buy another.

The prices for discontinued Seiko 5 models really seem to have gone through the roof in recent years. The SNK80X military/field line for example retails for up to 200 EUR in some online stores, which is almost as much as the replacement models. Only a couple years ago they cost around 50-70 EUR.
Knew about this before they stopped producing certain seiko 5 so I bought two of each I liked😂. Think I did alright as all my watches have gone up in value. Really glad I picked up 2 skx007 though as I adore the watch and now minimum price is $600 all the way to over 1k us for j versions🥶🙄 -I did predict this would happen though😅

There is a chronograph version of the SUR503 and it's pretty cool. I have it in navy blue with a gunmetal bezel surround, I think the color is EU exclusive.
I’ve got the srph85 , definitely a great watch, it being automatic and at the price point it does it for men.
Great video and assortment if nice Seiko. My humble Seiko „collection in the collection“ consists of 4 models. First: Seiko 5 SNXS81 where I changed movement (to NH36), crystal to sapphire and the bracelet to a proper j style bracelet. Second: brown dial SNXA13. Also here I am going with a nice aftermarket j style bracelet. Third: SNK355 like the one you showed here only the silver version. Fourth: Maybe the nicest, my green globe dial SNK665. Such a nice watch. Well a gold/champagne, choclate brown, white silver and jade green dial sitting side by side. Looks just awesome.

Funny how you mentioned each color option of the Seiko Solar SNE52 line except for the one I wear, the SNE523 with its silver dial. IMO the best looking colorway.

"better low light performance" is the most understated description the lume of the SNZG. This watch is one of the best lumed watches on the planet - period. And was the best lumed watch in my collection, regardless of price, style or origin, no watch i had or have comes even close to the SNZG lume.
Turtle “Willard” is the most underrated watch today. Still holding 200WR and it’s a classic style.
Great video Ben, top notch. I though I'm going to see Seiko Avenue 8M26-7030 (or 8M26-600A) being mentioned. It has a good built quality with lots of functions with a low pricetag.

The SNKL23 truly is a special piece. It is a watch capable of changing somebody’s taste towards watches, it sure did change mine. I discovered with this watch how well smaller case sizes suit me. It is the go to when you don’t know what the day is going to throw at you. All these qualities made me reconsider my future collection choices and start saving for a GS SBGX261.
Same happened to me when I purchased SNKL41, after that I’ve got Casio duro, Casio g-shock and Heimdallr seiko SKX007 homage.
That was my 1st automatic watch and what got me into watch collecting

I finally broken my 20 year rule of not buying more than one of the same brand of watch. I owned 1 Seiko Super Cub. I saw the Seiko Presage Blue Moon and I couldn’t resist. 😂
The SNKL23 is the first nicer watch I have bought (I have the silver dial variant with the striped inner dial) and it keeps great time and I do actually get compliments on it, plus I can wear it no matter the occasion, if you can get one and they don't discontinue it defo pull the trigger.
