It was hard to even fathom that other traits could be important, but honestly watching your channel i'm really inspired that iq is not the defining factor in someones life. I really see now that there are so many traits that can make a person great. Like hard work and perseverance, and honesty too. Youre a pretty cool guy I must say.
You rock, mark!! IQ tests don’t have anything to do with intelligence. They only tell you how good you are at taking that test. You are intelligent. Anyone with uncommon insight is a genius in my eyes. Keep on, brother!
"they only tell you how good you are at taking that test" that is EXACTLY correct. Every IQ test is a unique operational definition and its result, though CORRELATED with different things, is still only a measure of the ability to take that specific test.
I’ve read that one of the markers for high IQ is curiosity. You seem to have a lot of curiosity, you don’t just accept things as they come. Also, some of these athletes, maybe they had higher IQ but had many brain injuries, especially Muhammad Ali.
Hi Mark, I came in via your mcdonalds video. You have a good channel here, keep up the regular posting! I'm not sure if it is something you are bothered about or not but I thought I'd drop a comment with some feedback. Keep up the good work and take care.
I wanna point something out here that I don't think is often talked about, which is the role of learning disability in IQ testing, and how it could create inaccuracies. When I was a child I was diagnosed with slow processing speed. This is a disability that is kind of what it sounds like. I process information much slower than normal people. Homework in school designed to take 30 minutes when I was very young could take me as a long as 2 or more hours. I struggled. I am also dyslexic, and have issues with focusing although I was never diagnosed with ADHD. I say all this because what diagnosed me was an IQ test, or as a should say two. A timed IQ test and an untimed IQ test. On repeated and varied timed IQ tests I scored what averaged out to around 72. As pointed out in this video that's very low. However, on an untimed IQ tests I scored an average of 135. A significant difference. 140 is what is generally considered Genius level intellect. I say all this just to point out taking a single IQ test once and doing bad doesn't mean you're not intelligent. You need many varied types over time to find a consistent range you fall within, and as in my case certain types of tests creating outlier numbers when others don't may indicate a learning disability of some kind, not that you're unintelligent.
The timing is relevant though. If you can plod away on a multiple step problem in half an hour to get the right result that a genius can do in a fraction of a second you are not as intelligent, period. That isn't to say there's no life lesson in what can be achieved with persistence and willingness to try in the face of adversity, however.
@@jmass4207 Well you're right but that is also an extreme example. I explain it this way. What takes a genius 1 minutes to solve may take me 2 to 3 minute's but a person of average to lower intelligence would just get it wrong. That in itself is an oversimplification but it makes the most sense to people that have asked me about it, and it is essentially what showed in my childhood testing. Regardless I mostly wanted to point out it takes more than 1 IQ test once to get any real idea of your intelligence which a lot of people don't really know. Ideally IQ testing is done several times with varied tests under the supervision of a professional to examine the results and pick them apart.
@@jmass4207Wrong, IQ tests take into account how fast you answer so if you have a slower processing speed or a lack of focus it will affect your score.
Dyslexia is not a disability nor is what is called slow processing speed. Are you good at counting? I asume so if you managed near genius levels on an untimed paper. However as IQ is relative and time is a factor I would say it doesn't really count
This channel has really changed my perception on IQ o the point where I dont even know if it should be trusted as a human intelligence measuring system. Sure I believe it has some value but why does a person like Muhammad Ali, who aside from being arguably the GOAT of boxing was, very active on various social issues at the time as well as being extremely well articulated. You really bring forth a new (for me at least) perspective on this.
I was thinking the exact same thing about my perception of IQ and Ali. I've seen some interviews of him talking about Vietnam and other social issues, like you said, and thought he seemed very smart and insightful. So confused. But I'm also wondering how they got all these people's IQ scores.
You are a gem Mark. You have the courage to be vulnerable which is undervalued. I'm going to look at this IQ thing. I don't really have any understanding of what exactly it measures. I fear that it may be firmly based in our industrial, capitalist society/culture. In any case, because you can convey your personal experiences, you have far more value than any of these 'tests' can give value to. I love living on an earth where you exist and have the courage to speak about it.
My whole life I've been told I have a super high IQ. My parents regularly refused to tell me for years, because they thought it'd make my lil middle school ego too big and I'd simply not do school anymore. Having binged your videos, do not put yourself in a box of "low IQ". Even if you struggle with easy tasks (I was also only ever Grill, Table, or Cash at McDs), do not limit yourself. This mentality is all it takes. The mentality you have is genuinely all success has ever been. I hope to see your content get big one day. I hope in 20 years I turn on the news and see you speaking publicly on the needs of people with similar struggles, and making a difference doing it. I've talked with physics professors about theories for the birth of universe as a whole, and this guy still amazed me with the clarity he has. No bullshit, just goals. Completed goals, add more goals.
Mark, do not let that test determine your life. I dropped out of high school and had social issues. I ended up in military intelligence in counter terrorism and now run 4 businesses and employ a several full time people. The more you tell yourself you are not intelligent the more you will believe it. Also, tons of “smart” people are not successful. It’s the people that dedicate themselves and work harder than everything else that are. Keep up the good work.
IQ can be a poor measure of intelligence. Saying that, I have a high IQ - however I've struggled with a lot of other things like social functioning. I'm deeply impressed by your efforts to make the best of yourself. The way you speak and present your information is honestly ahead of the average person even if your IQ isn't. I was particularly interested in how you appropriately qualified that a range of 80 - 90 IQ points for Kourtney Kardashian was 'quite large' and worth noting - the ability to estimate error and the confidence you have in a piece of information is an essential part of intelligence that is very lacking today.
I saw your videos on reading, you can absorb a books information and relax with audiobooks, books on tape, cds. RUclips, libraries and bookstores have various options. 🌼🦁💡Great content!
I really do think you are much smarter than a silly IQ score would lead you to believe about yourself. You speak very clearly and communicate very well in your videos. Please try not to let any kind of number or score limit what you try to go out and do in life.
Something I've learned by researching this is that it seems there is a major misconception about low IQ people. We've been conditioned to think low IQ people behave like they have Downs Syndrome or some similar mental handicap (although people with Downs Syndrome have low IQs). The truth is that most low IQ individuals are pretty much indistinguishable from the average one. In other words, you may not really be able to tell until they are met with a complex task and it reveals itself.
This is cope and you are being condescending to low iq people and completely invalidating their lifelong struggles which preventing them from living a normal life. You are not being nice my making a comment like that.
Why do you people keep missing the point? A man with low IQ, who admits he has it, who doesn't feel shame or pity for himself for having it, gives you examples of low IQ individuals who have proven that you can rise to the occasion and not only fullfil but exceed your potential, and you still miss the larger point by saying ''oh you're smarter than you give yourself credit for!'' No! No. it is you who acts, speaks and generally conveys themselves in a manner much less intelligent than you really should or could be, precisely because of your intelligence. Because you've never had to think hard to figure out how to work an entrance level job or how to act in specific serious moments, you don't feel what you're not using mentally. Mark here didn't have the luxory of a regular or above average IQ: he had to literally work his mind to it's limits to succeed, instead of simply getting by. Please understand this if you actually want to learn something from this pretty damn interesting video. I don't mean to come off as rude, but your comment is a dime a dozen, so that's why I sound so abrasive.
Noticed an abrupt stop to your videos 3 months ago. I think the algorithm is finally giving you a little love, really hope you're here for it. You seem to ask why and you're not satisfied until the answer makes sense. You should update your info here so people can reach out for networking/endorsement stuff.
Anyone who scores between 90 and 100, is within the average range, which is between 90 & 110, so they could be considered average, Yes, athletes, actors and singers don't need a high IQ to be in those occupations. Another thing to consider is that a low IQ may be an indication of poor schooling, because you need a certain amount of literacy & math skills to perform well on an IQ test. So, there are still many opportunities out there.
I learned when I was younger - I'm a person with a reasonable IQ of about 139, HOWEVER, I have no work ethic, no determination, no motivation so I'll achieve nothing in terms of employment. IQ is just 1 of many qualities needed to succeed at what you choose. The rest are arguably more important.
It’s super interesting how Lil Wayne had a lower level IQ because he is one of the greatest rappers of all time and freestyles around 90% of his songs. He has some of the most clever word play in rap. Very interesting.
I saw another video recently , (sorry I cant remember), where the presenter basically was saying "dumb" people create great opportunities in business because they don't overthink and or have the fear potential issues. While smart people do overthink and do fear of all the things that could go wrong, and decide never to try in the first place.
Would you make a video talking about your experience in school, and what was that like for you? Did you have a hard time? When did you figure out your IQ? Were you shocked when you found out it was 70? What's your family background like?
Danny Elfman claims that he would do terribly on an IQ test yet he taught himself how to write music including classical music and even won third place in a junior high science fair for some radiation experiment he did that involved building his own Geiger counter from scratch. He claims to have gotten B’s in math (this would have been during the “New Math” era when STEM education was much better in the US due to the Space Race too) and apparently wrote a music piece based on the mathematics of a black hole once and I saw a video of him discussing philosophy with his ventriloquist’s dummy and as a philosophy major it went a little over my head.
Why does Danny Elfman think he would get a low IQ score? Is there a specific reason (a known learning disability), or is he just guessing? I've never taken a test, and I have no idea how I'd score.
@@thisxgreatxdecay IQ test are actually not very good at assessing intelligence, they are an ok estimate, but there are many issues that can generated a lower IQ score. For exemple there is a good chunk of IQ test questions related to how much vocabulary you have, if you know a really large number of words and know how to use them properly it's generally admitted that it's the sign of a good intelligence because the hypothesis is that to understand many concept you need the brain power for it. however, someone can have the brain power but not the knowledge, because of learning disability, lower status family with lower knowledge themself making the early age learning phase less challenging, ..., and therefore have a lower score on an IQ test while being as smart as the next guy. Basically a really hight IQ score might be more accurate than the lower one because it's easier to prove that something is here than that something is not here.

You are a living proof that inteligence is a complex subject as well as measuring it. It's clear that the way you structure your sentences, the topics you take and the way you present them is a sign of being at least slightly above average (many people have a hard time putting arugments together, or talking in cohesive manner), and as some people suggest you probably have some other specific deficits that lower your overall score. What i learned on psychology is that the number of IQ points might be pretty representative of overall capabilites or it may be usless in descirbing abilities that someone has. It's definitely the second case here. And i think same can be said about most of the mentioned celebrities. I have no doubts whatever deficit you have gave you a hard time, but you aren't conventionaly "stupid" by any means, you seem quite opposite. And there were plenty of people with very high IQ scores, where some areas of their brain were much more developed in comparison to others, that they were lagging behind the average in some areas of life. And so much depends on what you do with what you have that can make all the difference in the world. So i hope you find a way to overcome the things that are hard for you and keep up a good work!
Tito Ortiz is a very important figure in the history of the UFC. He pioneered a lot of training and concepts that are still done to this day. More importantly, he was one of the first to utilize the interviews given after a fight to set up and promote his next fight. He had a nunber of heated rivalries in the early days, and guys like Conor McGregor imitate what he did to this day. We call him the Wordsmith because of his creative word play when insulting challengers. Also, he's a politician now.
That is really interesting. I had no idea some of those people who I'm familiar with, had such low intellects. Great work bringing this to light. I know this information is publicly available online, but I'd never thought to look it up. Just assumed most people had an IQ around 100 or very close to it.
Good for you bro. We all have various issues and quirks because no one is perfect. Owning your flaws, not allowing yourself to take on a victim mentality and being your genuine self. Here's a small piece of advice if you don't mind. How people perceive you is super important in all aspects of life. Much of that is determined by how you look, how you carry yourself and how you speak. Like me, you say things like " Em" or "Uhh" and " You know what I mean? These are \ unnecessary word fillers we use to give us time to helps us gather our thoughts but they quicky become bad habits. Worse still, they make us sound terrible and it can be annoying for others. "You no what I mean" is a meaningless question. In person, if someone didn't understand you, you would see it in their expression or they would tell you, at least in most instances. On camera, it's even more meaningless because your viewers can't directly respond but even if they could, its not a serious question. Its word filler. Like any bad habit, it takes a lot of time and a concerted effort to break out of. Lastly, I believe you mentioned in another video that you read everyday. This is a great way to improve your vocabulary but you have to put new words into practice. They might feel strange at first but they will become comfortable soon enough. Make it a habit to look up words you dont know. My e-reader and most browsers will let you hightlght words to search on google or in a dictionary. Encourage this habit and it will slowly become less of a chore. You will feel the accomplishment as your vocabulary grows. 2 years from now you will look at videos of yourself from today and you will see a big improvement. You will sound slightly smarter because you will be slightly smarter. How we express ourselves its critically important. Try to learn 2 or 3 words a day. Try to incorporate 1 new word a day into your vocabulary and you will improve quickly.
Talents are diverse and varied. If you want to become a top scientist or mathematician then a high IQ is a big boost. But it’s not everything. If you want to become a top basketball player then you need height more than IQ. If you want to become a famous singer then you need a voice with lots of vocal range and things like that. If you want to be some sort fo labourer then you need good hand eye coordination. I’m sure I could think of lots more. But my point is there are high IQ people out there who will never be tall enough to play basketball, never have the best voice to sing to millions, never have the hand eye coordination to do anything physical as well as others. And that’s ok because they have there talents and you have yours. Last time I checked, an IQ test didn’t test how well you could kick a football into a net.

It was hard to even fathom that other traits could be important, but honestly watching your channel i'm really inspired that iq is not the defining factor in someones life. I really see now that there are so many traits that can make a person great. Like hard work and perseverance, and honesty too. Youre a pretty cool guy I must say.
There are no standardized IQ tests that can be administered to an infant.
Actually, IQ Test do say a lot. Especially if you repeat them to verify the results
One thing I noticed is your video titles seem pretty good but, IMO, your thumbnails have room for improvement. It could be a very easy win for your channel. I'm not sure if it is something you are bothered about or not but I thought I'd drop a comment with some feedback. Keep up the good work and take care.
Hope to see you posting videos they were very uplifting
IQ = processing speed though. So the time constraint is the entire point
I hope you’re doing okay. I just found your channel today. I am happy to have met you
My whole life I've been told I have a super high IQ.
From what i can read here, i don’t see a ‘super hi IQ’ author…. Just someone who takes bragging time with no proof at all…
It’s striking to me how many of these celebrities are likely victims of cranial impact from their contact sports (football, soccer, boxing etc)
Tito was born this way.
Super interesting list and also quite entertaining to say the least. 😂 I love you and your videos so much.
I was particularly interested in how you appropriately qualified that a range of 80 - 90 IQ points for Kourtney Kardashian was 'quite large' and worth noting - the ability to estimate error and the confidence you have in a piece of information is an essential part of intelligence that is very lacking today.
nevermind there's a near 0% chance any Kardashian has ever taken an iq test, and if they did that it'd be public knowledge
This guy is so likeable, I hope he’s doing great now.
I admire what your doing with ur channel. I hope life grants you with rewards for all the pain uve been through.
IQ's only a good measure of how good you are at doing IQ tests. Keep it up, mate, you're doing great.
This is absolutely not true - iq is highly correlated with many measures of life success
Spoken like someone who has an IQ of 70, the joke writes itself
I saw your videos on reading, you can absorb a books information and relax with audiobooks, books on tape, cds. RUclips, libraries and bookstores have various options. 🌼🦁💡Great content!
I’m sorry but you lost me with the first one.. Have you heard Ali speak? He’s one of the most articulate athletes of all time
His IQ test was for the army. He avoided the draft. A bit suspicious 😅
Well his early interviews he was quite articulate but as his life went on he became so punch drunk he developed Parkinson's and could barely speak
A man with low IQ, who admits he has it, who doesn't feel shame or pity for himself for having it, gives you examples of low IQ individuals who have proven that you can rise to the occasion and not only fullfil but exceed your potential, and you still miss the larger point by saying ''oh you're smarter than you give yourself credit for!''
No! No. it is you who acts, speaks and generally conveys themselves in a manner much less intelligent than you really should or could be, precisely because of your intelligence.
Dude you don't need to be obsessed with IQ it doesn’t define you. We love you bud.
Its just a topic dont say what he should do
I agree. Completely pointless to obsess over some number
Noticed an abrupt stop to your videos 3 months ago. I think the algorithm is finally giving you a little love, really hope you're here for it. You're the type of person I'd absolutely love to have a chat with. Everyone has a different perspective on life but not everyone is so attuned to their existence. You seem to ask why and you're not satisfied until the answer makes sense. You should update your info here so people can reach out for networking/endorsement stuff.
Don’t drag yourself trough the dirt man, you’re an inspiration
Anyone who scores between 90 and 100, is within the average range, which is between 90 & 110, so they could be considered average, Yes, athletes, actors and singers don't need a high IQ to be in those occupations. Another thing to consider is that a low IQ may be an indication of poor schooling, because you need a certain amount of literacy & math skills to perform well on an IQ test. So, there are still many opportunities out there.
Actors needs high IQ.
@@mikesilver2283 A high IQ certainly helps an actor to remember lines and to interpret their character.
You do have self awareness.
That's an important quality!
It means you have the ability to improve:) good luck 🤞
It’s super interesting how Lil Wayne had a lower level IQ because he is one of the greatest rappers of all time and freestyles around 90% of his songs. He has some of the most clever word play in rap. Very interesting.
O.J. Has an IQ of 'so high you know how to get away with murder'
My god, is that freaking Bing?
I saw another video recently , (sorry I cant remember), where the presenter basically was saying "dumb" people create great opportunities in business because they don't overthink and or have the fear potential issues. While smart people do overthink and do fear of all the things that could go wrong, and decide never to try in the first place.
Keep doing videos bro you will blow up and be successful you are in the algorithm
These probably aren’t real sources mate 😭 but ur probably right on a few
I love watching your stuff, its really eye opening
Hahahaha, you have such a likeable personality Mark!
2:33 - the fact you put OJ on the list. LOL
Would you make a video talking about your experience in school, and what was that like for you? Did you have a hard time?
When did you figure out your IQ? Were you shocked when you found out it was 70?
What's your family background like?
Whilst none of these people strike me as particularly bright, I don't buy any of these scores, nor do I believe your own score of 70.
iq scores are snake oil
Dude you did David Hasselhof dirty with the comment. I admit i couldnt hold my laughter after that cheaky shot from you mate.
I love this list! I’m gonna do some research now.
Lil Wayne is so clever with his words. They call him a musical genius.
Very interesting and inspiring Mark. Keep us well informed. ❤
Thanks for making these videos. Keep at it! You're very good at it!
Nice avatar. Boingo forever!
@@thisxgreatxdecay He’s got a number of “mental weirdnesses” as he’s mentioned.
@@guillaumelesouchu3935 Regardless I still can’t imagine he would score low unless he had anxiety and choked during the test. His mother was an English teacher so it’s not like he had an impoverished background. And he appears to have a better vocabulary than a lot of college graduates.
You’re a positive dude. I like it
Dude you rule keep it up. People could learn alot from your positive outlook on life.
I'm not sure about those IQ tests. My son has a 4-year degree, and he just got tested at 88 with mild autism and ADD. How the heck do you get a degree with a lowish IQ?! He also CLEPed out of the first year of college and passed one of the more difficult literature CLEP tests.
Keep it up I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, we will push through our difficulties.
Hi Mark. How have you been doing, for the last 10 months
Lil wayne is a lyrical genius
Well, maybe he doesn't write them
@@dalesco4205he doesn’t , he just says what he thinks
Hey man! Glad RUclips recommended me to you. It's nice to see a dude be comfortable with their body and promoting their message without sounding arrogant or talking down to others.
I'm sorta short and started balding at a young age. Two things I had a hard time dealing with, but now I accept it, as it's part of who I am, and we absolutely should be comfortable in our bodies. Life is too short to get so worked up about things we can't control.
BTW, I'm curious as to how you found out about your IQ. Have you always had some trouble in school? Not saying you did by any means but beware of online IQ tests! I found out I'm apparently smarter than Einstein although I was a very average student lol.
Keep up the good work!
Side note most high IQ people are not that happy.
Unfortunately these are only artists and athletes, where intelligence doesn't really matter, and luck (be it genetics or circumstance) is everything.
Hope you're keeping well dude. Shame you dont update on here. You're an awesome guy.
I hope life is treating you well, brother ❤
Would be very interested to hear your take on IQ as it relates to culpability or fault in crime, especially for people in the 70s and 80s ranges.
I have an IQ of 138 and I still spent 2 years of my life just doing drugs instead of law school. So keep it up my man!
Drug use is quite common among high IQ folk. They cross a certain line of understanding about life and the world around them. You can't close the box once it's opened.
@@xian8132 yeah Xian but damn I fucked up a bit :)
This guy is a fuckin champ. Much love brother 🤙🤘
You have great handwriting
Man brought up OJ 😂
Mark its hard to find people impossible to dislike nowadays u r one of them
Maybe I’m wrong but it looks to me like you haven’t ‘monetised’ your channel? You have over the 1k subscribers needed to monetise, so that means you can set your channel up so that RUclips place ads on your videos. Make some easy money that way. Saw your McDonald’s video. I know that was a year ago but well done mate. Love to see it 👍 Hope things still going well.
Muhammad Ali was brilliant, quick witted, and was a poet. This data is obviously wrong about him and Andy Warhol, who was an artistic genius.
I wonder whether it's related to Ali's later life with dementia?
@@panic-room-press He didn't have dementia. He had Parkinson disease. It doesn't affect one's thinking ability.
@@enkibumbu Parkinson's disease is a form of dementia. Dementia being the higher taxonomy. Cognitive impairment at the cellular level is not requisite but frequent.
Wow, this is very interesting! Thanks for sharing this. I wonder if some of these guys just have dyslexia/dysgraphia, which messes up the IQ score
Hey Mark, you seem like a good fella, good luck in life!
keep working hard, you are doing well.
My man. You don’t have a low IQ. Even if you did, you are phenomenal and exemplary in your attitude and commitment
Why did you stop posting content this is good to watch i mean this channel has great potential.
Hello Mark. I've just discovered your channel. I'm impressed with your work.
I subbed just because your onto something with this low IQ stick 😅keep it up bruv ❤
Muhammad Ali has an IQ of 78??? What the hell I thought he had an IQ of +140, watching his interviews
He got brain injury in boxing
Keep your head up m8.
Greetings from Germany.
Muhammad Ali was not just a skilled boxer but also one of the best speakers ever.
Boxers IQs might drop because of concussions.
lol yea this is a great list, good work. I'm not super surprised by any of these lmao
I have a 'high IQ' but I am genuinely miserable for a lot of my life, Mark. I really hope you're doing well, friend. I know it's been a bit since this video but I can't see you doing anything other than your best!
you make great videos, keep it up 💪
Anybody familiar with Tito Ortiz would be in disbelief at this. The man can barely string together a coherent sentence. Whilst so many others on the list were exceptional stand out achievers in their fields and excellent charismatic speakers too.
Christiano Ronaldo and Muhammad Ali would each be viewed by a very large amount of the world as a the pinnacle of the human species.
Ali did become unwell as he got older with a mixture of Parkinsons and CTE, maybe his IQ was tested when he was older?
David Hasselhoff being in the low 70s in unbelievable.
bro hahahah thats all im saying
Why do you think he had a speaking car?
Tito has to have cte cause he is restarted. Another trend I noticed is a majority of them dropped out of school very early
