@@djvycious its all surprising because they fought like dogs over those builds. You would have thought that amount of pressure would have forced them into building high quality bikes.

I respect you giving Paul a chance for defending OCC. But numbers don’t lie, OCC bikes simply don’t hold their value. That’s because they’re promotional bikes made for being looked at, not ridden. They boost the build values for the corporate buyers so the tax write off works well & that let’s them accept the bike will never retain any real world value.

Paul, I hope you and Jay can work things out! I think a lot of both of you and would love to see you shake hands and bury the hatchet, not in his neck either! We are glad to have you in Florida! Love your bikes!
The fact is that there are different types of motorcycles built for different purposes. A chopper isn't built to race motocross! Isn't built to compete in the Isle Of Man TT, nor is it built to ride like a Harley Roadglide! A corvette wasn't meant to ride like a cadillac. It's a niche bike, an art piece.
WHAT!?!?! @JoeGerdingYou think the Gov. should get into this? (and any/all business that "takes advantage of Supply and Demand"). Dollars don't come with sense and it's (as it should be) up the each/every person to spend (and in many cases like this) waste/lose their money as they wish...
I think you misspoke. I believe you mean assembled. Tanks and fenders were just modified 95% of the time. Frames were purchased most of the time. I think towards the end they started building some frames in house, but most of everything else was purchased as paul mentioned in this video
American Chopper was really a series about a dysfunctional father/son relationship. The Teutuls were never viewed as serious bike builders by those of us who ride.
This guy is worse than a kid running to tell Paul that jay talked about your junky shit ! I bet he has probably not got enough ass to ride a OCC death trap a hundred miles
Dont say negative stuff about people and theres nothing to instigate. Leno couldve said he's appreciative of the bike but its not really his thing anymore. Instead he talked a grip of crap. You think you can just talk smack all day long and not get called out on it?
I do understand that but also in Paul’s defense, that is the way he talks most of the time. I’m not picking sides here tho but jay does have a ton of credibility and what does he have to gain by not telling the truth? So I guess what I’m trying say is that I would probably tend to believe jay over Paul and it pains me to say that cause I really pulled for those guys to pull their heads outta their asses and build some good bikes instead of the drama filled fighting in every episode. When the Tonight Show asked Jay to cut his staff he turned around and cut his salary in half so he could keep everyone working. He has my respect for that display of generosity.
He still has never spent any money he made on the tonight show. He has lived on his stand up earnings alone. Was a big reason he had no problems giving up money he was just stashing away plus it kept his friends working. He still was getting millions, way more than he felt nessasary.

He wasn’t complaining, he was talking about the bike! And he’s not wrong, they don’t brake well, they don’t handle well and the rake is one of a number of factors that will make a bike handle like junk.
Yeah even if bike has best brakes it doesn’t mean it will brake well with weight being on bikes back wheel. Those OCC bikes are dangerous to ride on roads in my opinion.
I've had to repair OCC bikes and I stand by Jay Leno on the fact that they are just pretty junk. Barely ridable, they resist turning because the rear tire is too wide, (you can't use Harley geometry on a chopper, some need more rake and trail, some need less) and every single one I worked on needed to be completely rewired. Not as bad as Ironhorse motorcycles, but at least Ironhorse had fuses! So you use the best brand name parts, S&S, Baker, Accutronics (on some of your builds) and so on, it don't mean anything if your bike can't make a poker run without a tow truck.... Every chopper I ever built, is still on the road today, 20+ years later. I know all of the owners, they still call me on occasion and my shop has been closed for 6 years now. This is like a mechanic saying the problem with your car is how you drive it when they can’t figure out why it won’t start. OCC has never built bikes that anyone would want to go out and ride for 4+ hours.
I worked at Sikorsky Helicopters in Stratford, CT at the time they built their bike for Sikorsky. It didn't even make it across the ramp without breaking down. They had to reshoot the scene of him riding it across the ramp like 4 times so they could finally get a shot him getting it to the viewing stand. The whole plant was out there to see it, and we were laughing the whole time because of how crap that bike was. I think the CEO knew then that he'd made a mistake in buying that bike for like $250k, and the bike ran like shit. They put it in a display box in the plants cafeteria and people would just look at it and laugh, then muse out loud, "And they wonder why we go on strike when they say that can't pay us but they can buy a piece of crap like this."

Being a motorcycle rider for over 50 years, when OCC first hit the TV screen I thought to myself...what a bunch of bullshit. I'd have friends who were not riders in the least saying "hey, did you watch OCC and the pool and spa company build last night?" My brain would lock up at what they thought being a motorcyclist truly meant. Jay Leno is not only a legend in vintage and modern cars but also a huge motorcycle collector. He owns 160 bikes! Jay is not only a collector but he knows all about and rides them as well and not just a guy who likes to stuff a huge warehouse with stuff. He is an elite level collector. Paul Sr is just a dude that liked to scream on a "reality" TV program that had NOTHING to do with actual bikers and the way they think. OCC was and always will be a 1 trick pony shitshow.
My Dad and his friends were really into riding in the 80s and 90s would travel across Canada on bikes and always stuff and events around bikes and they said the same thing, I didn’t understand really why, but I guess real riders see occ differently than everyone else
From what I saw on TV they were making bikes for show. They would ride them around downtown sturgis but anytime they cut to them taking an actual ride they would be riding Harley's lol. Paul Jr. designed some excellent bikes but he was doing it essentially for his own creative inhibitions. He didn't build bikes to ride. Much respect to JR though. Unlike his Dad he was smart enough to know when the show was over that it was time to downsize. His company is still doing well enough and he hasn't had to file bankruptcy multiple times.

I was a huge American Chopper fan. I never owned an OCC, but I knew a few people that did. I rode 2 and they were definitely choppers. They were brutal to ride. They used the best components and they were all POS's that were constantly broken down. Electrical problems were reoccurring and bad welds were proof that they were OCC.
Such a huge problem with custom bikes and rigs in general, the people who build this category of things rarely know how to correctly wire their shit and that's like 60% of what breaks on them.
Weird to hear the welds were bad, because didn't Rick Petko do all of the welding then? I was under the impression he knew what he was doing but maybe not.

Jay leno was NOT lying. I've done work on multiple occ bikes, and they really are cut and paste that lact attention and quality. Like any cookie cutter company building multiple bikes as production. I will say. As far as bikes that were built for their shows looked nice, and had alot of work into them. But very few ever hit the road after the unvals. Just keeping it 💯
O.C.C. was a gimmick company with a business plan mainly geared to sell merchandising through a partially scripted, far from “reality” TV show. We saw plenty of their bikes for sale / on display at Daytona and I concur with Jay. It’s also hilarious that almost none of the top Custom Bike Builders (Ness, Nazi, J.J., Matt H., Yaffe, Trotta, Bourget, etc.) spawned from that era had anything different to say about the “Cake Decorators” from OCC. Fortunately the NY court records he left behind are public and I’ve read some of them. Bottom line, based on some of the shady business moves made to protect / transfer assets from his other companies with the Bankruptcies, I wouldn’t trust Toothole Sr. at his word for much of anything.
It was for MONEY LAUNDERING and helping peopel with TAX EVASION. The bikes themselves were of little value except as write-offs and corporate grift, along with a few boomers who got taken for a rough hardtail ride with no front brakes.
LMAO!!! Paul SR trailers his bikes then rides them. A true rider knows the Gold Wing is the premier motorcycle touring bike. OCC bikes are made for show and tell. I guarantee a Honda will out last an OCC bike all day long

What other company makes bikes like that and the Goldwing?!? I can go for endless rides and not have to be followed by a flatbed truck!
So basically what senior said is We put everyone else’s parts together to make a custom bike built by OCC That’s what I always thought when watching the show so I’m glad to hear him confirm
When you go from street bikes to choppers, they never ride the same. But to be fair, everyone who owns an OCC bike has never been happy with the reliability.
Unfortunately, Paul is in the failure categorically. I personally know three individuals who had bikes built, they were not pleased with the outcome and I'm sure Mr. Paul sr. will disagree. The lawsuits over the years don't lie.
Everyone has about the same thing to say about OCC bikes - pretty to look at, bad to ride. Leno's worth 100's of millions of dollars. Paul Sr after a couple of decades of fame is worth whatever he had in his pocket when you recorded that video. That being said, Paul Sr requited himself well in the video.
A few points here. Old mate trying to talk his way out of the electrical issue was pathetic. And the fact that he thinks that using all quality components will make up for poor design is scary and shows the real problem. As for the 35° angle thing....as soon as you change the height of the front or the back it will change the required angle. Once again, scary that he appears not to know this. As for the interviewer, he knows old mate is full of shit, but he is too weak to call it out. Instead he tries to make it sound like Jay has the sour grapes. I doubt Jay will give him another interview 😅
Yep that interviewer has totally messed up with how he has handled this ‘reaction’ video. Not only jay wont trust him. No one will after seeing this🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
C’mon stop it!! The bikes they built for the show are display items at best. He talks about cue cards when their show was a “scripted reality show”. Really “we may have uncovered the real reason here”? Jay spoke his opinion which lines up perfectly with many. Lastly $25,000 motor? LOL LOL
Damn dude. i think its pretty shitty of you to try tp pit these two icons against each other....Occ bikes are shit everybody know it. Jay was expressing his personal view and to run to Paul and get a reaction against Jay is just shit..... I think your channel is better than that......Maybe not?
The bikes looks to be something to stand on display rather than be riding. Remember one they made, the tank must have been 1 gallon. Made me laugh when i saw it...
OCC was an entertaining show to watch from time to time, but I don't like choppers. Poor handling, not fun to ride, over priced, unreliable & ridiculous to look at.
Jay didnt say there was a short in the tail light, he said the entire bike was fused through the bulb and when the bulb burns out the bike dies - this would not be acceptable in a car or any other thing meant to be roadworthy and safe. Cue cards are standard fare in TV, Johnny Carson had them and no one complained in thirty years, the Letterman show sounds like a lame excuse.
The video B&B currently has up about the OCC bike Sean bought is not the original. I saw the original, Sean was brutal. Jumped up and down on the seat, talked about all the spikes, how the front brakes barely worked. I can only imagine he got a call or visit from Paul Sr. because he toned it down. That video has been edited at least twice from what I remember.
In a perfect universe, Paul Sr. would be a decent respectable businessman and he could partner with Jay Leno and Mike Wolfe (American Pickers) and they could help work out how to make the OCC bikes actually cool and rideable and not just a lawn ornament. The OCC crew - credit to them - are great artists. They are very skilled welders, painters, mechanics. That much is true. But the actual DESIGNING part, to take that pile of metal and form it into a rideable chopper that's enjoyable and fun, and not a rolling deathtrap, that is where they need help.
OCC make garbage, Jay Leno is not the first owner to point this out, see the Bikes and Beards channel where they review an OCC bike and find it's also a piece of garbage...

No one will after seeing this🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@simonmenzies3142 ... I really don't think Jay gives a shit about what these two clowns think...
not to mention that this dildo interviewer talks and fake acts like he's got the hottest story of the year.
C’mon stop it!! The bikes they built for the show are display items at best. He talks about cue cards when their show was a “scripted reality show”. Really “we may have uncovered the real reason here”? Jay spoke his opinion which lines up perfectly with many. Lastly $25,000 motor? LOL LOL
Jay wasn't knocking you. He was trying to let people know how dangerous your bikes are.
Damn dude. i think its pretty shitty of you to try tp pit these two icons against each other....Occ bikes are shit everybody know it. Jay was expressing his personal view and to run to Paul and get a reaction against Jay is just shit..... I think your channel is better than that......Maybe not?
That was painful and about 15 minutes longer than it needed to be.
The bikes looks to be something to stand on display rather than be riding.
Remember one they made, the tank must have been 1 gallon. Made me laugh when i saw it...

Teutul's are a perfect fit for pro wrestling
I'd love to see that..!

Your stuttering Paul, it broke because of a faulty electrical design , free or not honest criticism is honest criticism.
Jay is not the only one to say OCC builds junk !
SRK cycles had one of those OCC bikes and it lined up with what Leno said.
Dude, they should change their name to "Snake Oil"
In a perfect universe, Paul Sr. would be a decent respectable businessman and he could partner with Jay Leno and Mike Wolfe (American Pickers) and they could help work out how to make the OCC bikes actually cool and rideable and not just a lawn ornament. The OCC crew - credit to them - are great artists. They are very skilled welders, painters, mechanics. That much is true. But the actual DESIGNING part, to take that pile of metal and form it into a rideable chopper that's enjoyable and fun, and not a rolling deathtrap, that is where they need help.
Wtf Choo talking bout Willis?

@MrWolfSnack ..We all know you're a dope. Keep commenting...
OCC make garbage, Jay Leno is not the first owner to point this out, see the Bikes and Beards channel where they review an OCC bike and find it's also a piece of garbage...
Jay isnt the first person to say this, just look at the bikes, they are not built for handling. They are built for looks, strange looks.
No choppers are built to handle.
save yourself time Jay is 1000% right
I'm disappointed that you seemed to set up Leno knowing Sr was waiting in the wings to respond. Jay Leno is the only class act in this.
