The man genuinely loved his fans. Too bad he was the last of a dying breed...RIP Dime, keep giving God and his angels hell, brother!
roy conard eh, he's writing shreds in paradise.
forgiveness is a thing.
He made GOD a metal head
Cliff burton, dime maybe Jimi and Vinnie Paul in the after life jammin
Its not that they're just arseholes but a lot of em get embarrassed by the over the top attention from what is basically a stranger and it can be super awkward for them as well. If I see someone I'm a fan of on the street, I just leave em alone coz they're not your pet or something, that you whistle and they come running to their fan or master, it seems in your case!? How about you just say g'day or whatever but no, you gotta demand they act a certain way and so this and do that, sign this , take a picture, meet my friend etc etc and it is not about wanting to know them or just something simple like respecting them and some basic manners,? No it becomes all about what you can get from him or who will see you with em and it becomes very depressing and just fuckin annoying. Theyre allowed 5rll you to fuvk off and if u don't eanna be a fan any, more, than that's your problem and not his, yo u make out lik3 they owe you something because spent $20 on their album that you wanted and chose to do by yourselves anyway
@@jeremyrobertson7267 Stfu man. Tons of big stars are happy to pictures with their fans. And taking pictures with them doesn't necessarily mean you want something from them or to brag you met them. It just shows them you want to remember that moment forever!!!! I bet if you had a picture of yourself with Dimebag you'd be posting that shit all over the place, because honestly who wouldn't? You got to meet a dope ass person, and there are other people who'd love to see you share that memory. Your comment is COMPLETELY your opinion. Not a fact. Stop treating it that way.
He came to rock
And rocked like no other
With the heart twice the size of Texas
Our beloved bother, mentor,
idol, companion and friend...
We love you Dime...
Until we meet again
Way to quote a quote. Real original.
amen
hell yeah brother
That's a great Pantera song we'll Meet Again.
man that prick hurrying people along at the end deserved a punch! Let people soak in the experience! Dime was a legend, & when you meet someone like that you can't help but be happy and a little starstruck!
I would told his ass off
Yeah, what an ass hole. Dime wasn't all about hurrying people through, he actually wanted to hang out with his fans.
Spiritual Onslaught it was kinda necessary because if it were just dime he woulda talked to one person for an hour if he could
Spiritual Onslaught Bet he feels pretty bad about rushing people now. 😓
I would’ve told that douchebag to go f*ck himself AFTER Dime signs my stuff!!🤘
the clip of the girl playing Slayer honestly warmed my heart so much. I'm a female guitarist myself and it's nice to see another girl who's being respected for her playing and not just her looks. what I would give to be hyped up by THE Dimebag Darrell in person.
Well she played like shit i bet so do you
In all fairness the guitar sounded pretty much out of tune by the time she got it.
@@chriskmb5150able ahaha
I hear you but as far as looks go i wish both female and male musicians stopped trying so god damn hard to look "sexy". Have you seen these female youtube musicians especially? Some of them rather good but impossible not to dislike due to their energy being projected 99% towards looking like someone who sells their body for a living.
8:28-8:38 You can tell what a MAN he was by watching him for just 10 seconds. I cry. Heavily missed... RIP Dime and Vinnie
I don't know much about Pantera or Dimebag Darrell. But what I do know is that he is one of greatest guitar players in history. And he was one nicest guys U've ever met. It's a shame on how his life ended. Especially at a young age. He might be gone. But he is never forgotten. He is always here with us. And his spirit will live on forever.
so well stated. Dime is eternal.
Thomas Muller this dude was always interacting with his fans n he was awesome to party with... I've been in such saddeness both brothers are gone...
Then you pretty much got it nailed!
Not even in the top 100 but it’s cool you love him so much.
@@Vaultzero
Actually, according to rolling stone he's the 92nd best guitarist in the world.
He sure as shit is top 100. He's not the best but he's at least top 100.
What a guy!
"I can't sign it if you don't play it!" - words of wisdom! :D
He did however call that dude the N word
@@jacobnussbaum53 So?
@@BeeBeeCJr Where I live, we don't judge by color, but you americans keep reminding the world how racist people are.
7:51 for anyone who wants to be sure
@@jacobnussbaum53 you did realize dude was white not black.
That's an interesting version of Seasons in the Abyss... lol, then again if had the chance to play in front of Dime I'd probably forget how to hold the damn guitar!
Well, she didn't have a guitar strap to even hold the guitar
cool! but she's horribly out of tune!
@@danielsnyder832 given a chance to play infront of dime are you trying to tune smartass?
Floyd rose too lol no chance
I think id be shitty my pants
8:36 his face is priceless , great guy, great player..
Sad to watch this and know Vinnie is gone as well....
Look at it this way, now the brothers are reunited, in God's kingdom
@@bennybigiron8471 Amen Brother
They are together again in the afterlife 🤘
@@bennybigiron8471 I saw Vinnie in the vid and I was like, "ITS FUCKING VINNIE." I miss that guy. So humble and true to himself and others around him. Rest in Piece the Abbot brothers, they are jamming with a supergroup in the afterlife
Was very fortunate to have met him at an after show get together in Phx on the far beyond driven tour .
He was attentive to everyone he met , made eye contact , anyone that was near made them feel like they were the only person there in a room full of people .
Had no rockstar don’t talk to me vibe .
Vinny was out in the crowd doing the same , so was Rex .
Still have the tix stub they all signed.
His passing was very tragic to me , being I had lost my own father on the 8th of December.
John Lennon too !
Was upset for days after dimes passing .
He lives on here and in our hearts .
A true awesome human being 🤘
Check this out
What about Phil?
Success & stardom did Not penetrate Dime .......He stayed True to the art from beginning to end . The dude was just cool from the first interview on Mtv till this later stuff . A Genuinne coool guitargod.
This is how you treat people as a musician at any level. Period. Youre playing music not performing brain surgery. R.i.p.
@@ratboyninja yeah but some are better than others lol
the last true great rock star of our generation...
No freakin lie man .
That's no damn lie bro
Dave Grohl?
Don't forget about Layn Staley,
There's a lot of great musicoans and Rockstars
That dude at 9:08 will remember that moment for the rest of his life.
oh he will
wow did anyone notice dime took a drink of a fans beer at the end of the video. That was dime man so down to earth.one of us
He finished some dudes drink at the beginning of the video also
For all the people commenting about the handler rushing everybody: That guy is ensuring that hundreds of fans get a minute a with Dime rather than less fans getting more time. If you were in that line knowing that Dime could split at any moment, you'd be glad that guy was there moving things along. Just my .02.
You're so 100 percent wrong my friend. He doesn't give a rat's ass how much time fans spend with dime. He's being a stereo typical security guard who does what security guards do. Act like the authoritarian figure he thinks he is. Let him get his 15 min of fame with a rock star and get it out of his system. By being the aggressor of the situation at hand. I'll bet you any money dime was like "chill out dude....were all having fun...it's all good bro relax" how much u wanna bet....
I agree with you. Probably hundreds of people lined up to just meet dime. They'd be there till next week withouttthat dude.
@Your Turbo Lover how are you even getting that idea? You must be a real sensitive type girl huh?
@@xenophagia he's part of the patriarchy dude... How dare you be so insensitive!
Exactly
Ive ran in to him many times. He was always just in the neighborhood and VP used to come into my work all the time. I sure miss these boys. All the time I see places we hung out or met , and it hard not to miss them.
You can just feel all that good energy flowing through him.treated everyone like they were family.such a damn shame, the world needs a hell of a lot more people like dime in it.rip brother you are missed.
Rest in paradise DIMEBAG!
Never met this man he passed when I was a kid but man these videos and music make me feel like I knew him somehow
It's a weird feeling to mourn someone u never met just shows how big a impact he was
Dimebag and Vinnie are both legends and badass human beings!!! RIP to the both of you!!!
I'll tell you why he's even cooler than this video shows. I met him in downtown Detroit at the State Theater. It was early spring time and its cold that time of year up here. I was working security and was watching the door that the band enters in thru the back. There was a homeless guy with a guitar back there. Dime plugged up in his t-shirt and shorts and jammed with that homeless man out in the cold. It was right before Far Beyond Driven had been released. Thats when i really found out what kind of dude he was. He was one of us. The best guitar player was also truely 1 of the finest people you could ever meet in your life.
He was so nice to his fans, it makes my heart warm
Miss him.....great player, great friend, great human.
Larry! What year was this?
I agree fully Larry, I had the chance to meet him in 1997 in Utica ny on the 101 proof tour, a true inspiration and definition of a genuine human being! God rest his soul! Your the luckiest man alive to have been able to be so close to him brother! Hope all is well.
Wait...THE Larry English?!
@@j.edgarboofer8918 yes, the same LARRY in this video. Washburns own LARRY ENGLISH.
Thank you kindly Larry
Much Respect 🌟
the thing I love about Dimebag the most is that he lived like he realized that we don't live for a long time. which we dont. he had a blast till the end. which is something we ALL can learn from.
SmoothShred1 Had a ‘blast’ till the end. Lol. Oops
That blast part aged horribly
Humanity needs a lesson from Dime

Was at NAMM back in the day and met Dime. Beyond cool and down to earth. Took time with everyone. ❤
Such a nice , humble and down to earth guy....it¡s even better considering that he was one of the biggest metal starts at that time.......miss him every single day
The absolute best metal guitarist and one of the most awesome humans ever to walk the Earth.
Dimebag all though a legend and to me the Greatest guitar player who ever lived was Absolutely humble in every sense of the word he didn't let fame and fortune get to his head like most musicians he was a down to earth cool normal Dude ❤
Only the good die young im guessing..rip dime. I'm sure your on a much better stage now. You poured your heart into entertaining us,, and now your entertaining the heavens. Thanks for sharing your life with us. Not only were you phenomenal at guitar,, you are known as the best friend of all of us. We miss you,, until we meet again brother.
"How 'bout we just give her the guitar Larry?"
Artists always want to give everything away(like myself), it's the managers that set the prices.
D.D. was truly just an artist at heart
Dime just casually drops the "N word" whilst wearing a rebel flag on his sleeve. If that happened today they'd exile him to an island to be sacrificed in a volcano. LOL!
timestamp? can't find it .
@@skydead5778 7:51
yeah, people should learn it's not a word, but context that matters...
I thought it was funny that he called a white guy the n word
@@gator4458 use of "the n word" didn't have anything to do with race in this case... He said it meaning "dude"... It would mean exactly the same if he said "cat", "jack" or "bro" instead...
He gave all his love to the world , every time i see a dime’s video i get so so sad because he was such a happy man such an angel on earth with the intensions of inspire love and help through his instrument. he deserved a long happy life I hope from my heart that he is on the best place possible at least . God damn im droping tears hahaha . Im only 21 i heard of him for the first time at 15 but you dont need to live in the same era as him to know how a leyend and a honorable man he was .
RIP DIMEBAG NOBODY WILL FORGET YOU OR YOUR LEGACY
He lived life like the gas pedal to the floor and no stopping rest in peace Dime and Vin heaven just got louder
Dime truly loved his fans.
I am now older than Dimebag was. He only made it to 38. I remember being stationed in North Carolina and hearing about his murder over the radio. I thought it had to be a mistake. Very sad. I'm grateful for the videos and obviously the music.
R.I.P. Dimebag and Vinnie. 🙏🏻✝️🕊🎸🥃♠️🌵🦂🐍
Dime brought a host of angels with him to conquer hell, armed only with the Dean axe.
This is the type of stuff that gets rockstars killed, I mean if Pantera was still running strong during this time, they wouldn't have been out in public much and damn sure wouldn't have been playing in a bar in Ohio of all places where security was minimal! I give hella respect to Dime and Vinnie for keeping the truck rolling and living life to the fullest, I'd have done the same, thats the way to go, dont let fame go to your head and remember your fans put you on the fame train! RIP Dime and Vinnie, the world loves you and your truly missed! 🤘
Every metal band, that that you listen to all through the 90s and early 2000s all play in Columbus Ohio at the alrosa villa. And I mean just about all of them Sepultura Slipknot Machine Head Fear Factory all of the big metal bands played there. I have the tee shirts bro..lol..
@@lumber1982 That may be true, and I recently commented in a video of the Alrosa Villa being torn down, and I commented that there was a lot of history there, but take a good look at the place in perspective to arena's and stadiums and especially security, it's quite a big difference! I'm gonna have to guess that most of those big metal bands played there in Columbus before or as they was picking up some steam! A well known band should not have been there at all! Now back in 04 I had only been into metal music for a few years before and didn't really know much about Pantera, I was ashamed to admit I had only listened to maybe 4-5 song's, I had just turned 18 at the time and my favorite band was Metallica, I didn't really drive much and traveling to places to see a concert from where I live was out of the question as far as my parents was concerned! Nowadays I can do what I want as an adult and I, like many others are trying to make the most of what we can to see our favorite artists/bands performing before (and God forbid) anything should happen to them like that day in Columbus!
It's cool that you got to see those band's, and I to hope to add to my concert experiences! I was lucky and got to see Metallica back in 04 when they toured with Godsmack, it was almost 20 years before I had a chance to see them again last year at LTL 21'
I plan on going this year, maybe we might run into each other and chat!
8:35 always puts a smile on my face
Man I miss him. I even miss him more from a distance wachting all this shit going around. It was even on the Dutch commercial news broadcast that he died. I cried a little and confused and couldn't listen to his recordings and music for about a year because I just couldn't believe it. Reality can be cruel, but dreams are great. My mom passed because of cancer this early april and she said: when I go to sleep, you may all dream on.
Such a good man who would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it. It still upsets me when I think about how he died. I just wish he were still here helping all of us get through these f'ed up times. He was my hero growing up and even though we never met I still love him like a brother
Guarantee while Dime was on that volume knob, nothing in that room was louder.
whats so sad is he loved his fans so much, fe felt safe around them to the point it never even popped in his mind that he would even need security everywhere.. RIP dime
So true

Can't believe hadn't seen this one.
The coolest dude ever !
Super cool when he called a fan a nigger
Dime was a legend, and always will be. He had the heart to be good to his friends and fans. Nothing worse then a rockstar who knows he's been a rock star. He wasn't like that at all. He seemed to appreciate every fan he ha when he could. That's real, that's genuine, that's DIME. R.I.P... you are so missed

I came here after a out of context clip on Reddit started to trash dimebag as a racist Im glad the clip was just at poor context
