This was a very emotional video for me and also of course very emotional for Grady to open up all these cases. Hope you like the video. Thanks to Rita and Grady for everything,.
Love yah brother getcha pull 333🖤🖤🤘🏻
It must’ve been magical to be there
Seeing all these legendary guitars without getting to play them... i'm happy i see them from my couch... with a D3 in my hands of course 🙃
Ola Englund
Absolutely awesome video Mr Englund. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us an up close and personal view into the world of a true guitar hero and legend.
R.I.P. Dimebag.🤘🏼
AMAZING
It's kinda like those guitars are still waiting for Dimebag to come back.
Fuck that hit me good.
Umm no dude he got half of his blown off
@@arnottsbiscuits9596 did you meant to say half of his head blown off?
That hit me right in the feels

Don't do this to me I'm about to cry lol

How many times?

It never gets any easier. I still fight back tears for my daughter, who I buried in 2014. Only for me, only anger keeps them from flowing.
So I'm angry. All the time.
I just love how Ola didn't go all fanboy. Somber, yet respectful. Dime was a good person and could play the shit out of the guitar.
he was far from a good person. A confederate flag legit made it into the video.
@@sethboutilier Fuckin' lol... k bro.
@@sethboutilier Ok keep thinking he flew it because he was “racist” and not for a completely different reason. Thats the confederate rebel battle flag as well.
@@eog5217 how the hell do you fly a flag that stands for people who promoted slavery of a single race and fought until death for slavery without being racist? Simple - you don't.
@@sethboutilier It's actually super simple, you're not racist unless you've got racist opinions.....
You can tell the man that is showing the guitars really had a relationship with Dime
I believe he controlled dimes effects from back stage......that is as connected as you could get...yeah I'd say they were tight!
He says in the video they were friends since middle-school.
@@mangro51 & JR, Yeah that true Grady did Darrell's (Dime) guitar effects and was his guitar tech for many years. I remember whenever I saw Pantera live from 1992 to 2001, I would always see Grady run on stage & switch guitars for Dimes. 😉🎸Then I would see him after the show a lot, with other techs & road crew!
Getting drilled in the chest brings bros closer.
Fuck your guitar tech at that level has to be like your personal assistant you'd think but one you've trusted for years built a family bond with I dunno but obviously they were close....
That should be a museum!!! His whole house should be a TEXAS HISTORICAL LANDMARK!!!!
@ummm ya okay, 15 years later there's still no one that can play like dime!
I agree
Dont get me wrong there's ALOT of legends that can shred but the way he hits those harmonics and squeals that shit while out of tune af is insane! There's never gonna be another DIME BAG, I'm just glad there's so much of him to listen to forever!
@Jason Smith dave is a junkie. Nothing else
no fuck that the guitars are waiting for his return!!!!!
This must have been so bitter sweet for Grady. I can't believe it's been 16 years since Dime's passing. I've been watching a lot of old videos of Dime lately and I can't help but wonder what kind of amazing music we have been robbed of over all of these years. Thank you Ola for posting this video.
Me too bro! I want to start a Pantera cover band.
Yeah I can only imagine , especially after the first and only album from Damage plan. If that was any indication of the fuel dime had left in his tank. I bet they would have been almost as big as Pantera by now , who knows. It just sucks and will go down as the darkest most tragic day for metal and the fans in history. Such a waste of an absolute legend , it still makes me angry and sad at the same time. Especially because this music brings people of all walks of life together , i met so many awesome people over the past 41 years of going to metal shows. Never got into fights , everyone always got along with each other. Hanging out partying in parking lots with total strangers before a show , when you're into metal it's like being in a brotherhood of good people!
RIP Brothers Dimebag and Vinnie!! Your finally with your idol Eddie Van Halen!!
RIP Eddie!!
@@mikeg.9238i mean Vinnie and Dime WERE Pantera. so no doubt DP would’ve been hugely successful had they been able to record several records
@@poindextertunes Hell yeah , i bet they'd be bigger than Pantera right now...
It’s hard to believe Dime’s been gone for 16 yrs now. Pantera in the early 90’s got me into metal🖤
You're probably younger than me , but i got a chance to see them back in 91' or 92' when Vulgar display came out. They were not really known yet , it was at a small club in the city i used to live in. The club only held about 1000 people if that and it was packed to the max and about 100 degrees in there. I can't even remember who opened but it was one of the most brutal shows at a small club iv'e ever seen. Other than Metallica at another small club on the Kill em all tour with w.a.s.p. and armored saint opening for them. I think that was in 1983 , great memories from those shows! \m/
@@mikeg.9238 I was in jr high around that time, however I did get to see Pantera live a few times back in the late 90’s. It’s so awesome that you got to see them back in their early days. I live in Texas not far from Dime’s hometown , so it was really cool having a kick-ass metal band from my state!
@@FluffySophia That must have been cool as hell! Glad you got to see them also , I saw them at all the Ozzfest's and their last tour in 2000 for the Reinventing the steel tour , Slayer and Static X opened up. Talk about a sick show!🤘

Same for me, i was walking down the street & a kid skating was listening to CfH and i was changed 4ever.
you touched the Dean from hell from bro, thats a religious experience
Played. No amp but played. WOW!!! GETCHA' MOTHERFUCKIN' PULL\m/
is like to take the pick of destiny haha but real, the cowboy gun, the legendary dean from hell !!!
Yeah the real dean from hell. Not a spin off or some fake one. But the real one!
I actually played it at sam ash when they were on display in orlando i worked there for a few months and they let me hold it and play it unplugged really shitty guitar and beat to hell and back but it was an honor to hold and strum it
John yockel: Shitty guitar? That guitar was a favorite for a reason.
I still talk to this day of seeing Pantera live 4 times. Each show was memorable.
R.I.P. Dimebag and Vinnie Paul
Got to see them 5 times. 6 if you include the Stars parade! Lol greatest show on earth.
That’s awesome! They were amazing live. Glad u have those memories. I was. I was fortunate to have been able to travel with couple friends to a few different states to see them live. 13 times. Each show was memorable! 👊🏻
I'm the same way. I saw them open for Souls at Zero (formerly Wrathchild America) and there was so much energy during Pantera that I almost fell asleep when the "main" band came on stage.
10:40 I feel like Ola got sad here , and I started getting sad at the same moment .. what a shame man .. I bet it was even more emotional standing in the room. We all miss you so much Dime.

@@ixlr8677 ? Lol did you click on the wrong comment?
@@Iheartdgd nope. Lots of dbags on RUclips. I saw what you saw though
I agree, in that moment he showed a hesitation, almost like it was a holy artifact that he was not worthy of touching. A moment passed, he composed himself and continued on. Maybe it’s just my perception but I felt that.
True, the room went silent for a moment 😢
That well worn Dean from hell is piece of history.
FUK yeah 🤟
Sacred
Its worth is far beyond any monetary value, it's priceless because it's one of a kind, the "dean from hell". The legend himself shredded for all of us.
@IM-ON-RUMBLE thats fuckin awesome holy crap. where do you guys get all this info I would love to read into it all

There’s something beautifully haunting about them opening the guitar cases and just gazing at them in silence, just all those memories flooding back, must’ve been incredibly emotional especially for Grady
"take us with the floods"
I can't belive he's gone. I shake my head every time. I was in a band that toured "Divine Empire" and we were set to join Damage Plan. I was so pumped to meet him and just be metalheads together.
Man. That sucks you were robbed of that experience
This video is extremely important to whole metal community. Just imagine Zakk watching it
I'm sure Zakk has already seen them in person he was extremely close to Rita and dime
I like how they laugh remembering funny stuff that Dimebag did. Oh that legend lives on.
Dude i dont think ive EVER heard a negative Dime story...he was the greatest 24/7 from the fans and other bands all the way accross the board to his tech and roadies...him and vinnie both were just awesome dudes literally all the time....nobody liked hanging with fans more than they did vinny even carried a sharpie in his pocket at all times just to bust out autographs for whoever asked...you were their best friend the second you shook their hands
@@charlesjones32787 couldn't agree more with this.
If you are ever in Arlington Texas music scene you probably bump in to people who have a dime story. Or even random people in DFW still till this day talk about him and Pantera.
@@charlesjones32787 Yeah, I've heard about this a million times and still amazed. Dimebag and Vinnie were such inspiration that people around him wanted to be nice like them.
@@Emet.V This is why I want to be a Texan!
I'll never watch videos of his gear or about him without getting pissed how it all went down. There's not a guitarist that heard him for the first time in the 90's that isn't influenced by him.
I was just thinking the same thing. I hate that he's not here and I hate that piece of shit that took his life.

It's really cool that they let you come hang out and film. That's some hospitality.
Southern hospitality.
Pretty much. I played in San Antonio in 2005 and everyone we ran into treated us great. The club, the hotel and on site restaurant, the local bands etc.
Think it was since we were not from around there. Stopped at a Popeyes chicken and the manager bought the three touring bands lunch. Thought we were a big band or something like that.
We gave her so much merch she had no idea what to do with it heh heh! And it's true: Everything's bigger in Texas!

My uncle and I made those Dimebag Hardware shirts that the guitar tech is wearing! My uncle did all of their shirts and my dad did most of their paper printing since before they were famous. They were very loyal and down to earth guys Dimebag and Vinnie Paul. They gave me souvenirs as a kid and when I got older they would buy me a drink whenever I saw them. My Dad, my uncle, Dimebag and Vinnie Paul have all passed away now and although I feel sad sometimes knowing that a great generation of guys are gone I know they are up there somewhere together making a lot of noise doing sketchy activities late at night fueled by black tooth grins. Just laughing their asses off. RIP legends. Great video! I can tell they meant a lot to you as well.

I grew up listening to EVH and Dime. I never realized how deeply Dime was loved and missed. He touched soo many people.
One of the main things shown by dime is that you could get your own sound and tone out of a solid state amp. There's been a long standing argument over tube vs solid state and solid state taking away tone and making everything sound the same.... Anyone argues that today, all you have to do is say dime.
@@williamkramer9731 yup

"yeah, but without the lightning."
The lightning Dean From Hell was not a custom guitar a company sent him. It was a guitar he won in a competition in his teens but his father had already bought him a dean previously so he sold the dean he won even though he felt it sounded better so he could afford a car at age sixteen. It did not originally have the lightning paint job. It changed hands over the years throughout the texas area before winding up in the hands of Buddy Blaze who was the one to give it the lightning paint job. Word is that Buddy gifted it back to Dime telling him that it really was "always yours." where it became the Dean From Hell.
Well thanks. But I'm sure this knob knows
@@arnottsbiscuits9596 Except that he literally referred to a guitar that was sent to Dime as a prototype signature as a guitar "without the lightning" as though they would later send him The Dean From Hell "with the the lightning". This is the inherent reason for the comment in the first place and why I quoted him at the beginning of it.
Heres a link of Dime talking about winning the Guitar.

@@jackcoleman1784 they later would send him reproductions. there were at least 2 blue lightning guitars pictured in this vid.
I had a poster of that guitar from guitar world magazine when I was a teen. I worked at a record store and Pantera came in for a CD release party and I asked dime to sign that poster and he told me that exact story. He was more concerned about making his dad feel bad, he got rid of the one he liked better.
Kinda gave me chills seeing Ola holding the original Dean from Hell. Imagine being able to play the very guitar that your ultimate hero wrote some of songs you've listened to and played along with since you were a kid... unreal.

Really cool fact, at the HardRock Cafe in Gulfport, they have a dimebag guitar that was washed away in Katrina. A person found it in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, and brought it back to the hotel. I saw it hanging in the cafe.

And Grady is a true Champion.

Wow!!!!! Just wow!!!! Opening up history, memories and emotions! Great video would love to be able to see all that stuff in person. Listen to Grady talk about the guitars and a memory flood his mind. Sure that was tough roller coaster ride of emotions. I’m sure Dimes presence is strong at his house. To of just gotten to chill with those guys back then would of been priceless. Rip Dime and Vinnie Paul! Legends never die! Thanks for making this video and sharing! RESPECT!
1:30 Oh wow!! How cool is that? Dime obviously wrote that musical idea down to remember it later. That's truly a treasure!
Remember his guitars and stories, wow even his spirit of laughter and more laughter are present in each of his beloved guitars ..
long live a dimebag
long live the abbott brothers
Greetings from Chile we will always remember you
Ola, this has to be hands down my favorite video that you've ever done and I've seen a lot of them. I could only dream of walking into Dime's house. Thank you for sharing the video, I haven't seen a lot of videos out there of his House and guitar vault. I love all of your Dimebag content. Salud!
Awesome awesome video! Man, the history in that room… it’s just priceless. I always like watching the old Dime workshop video where he’s at the guitar store with the Dean from hell guitar, and seeing it on here after all these years.. very cool. Thanks for this video
So cool that you got to do this, Ola! Hanging out with Grady would be an absolute dream come true for me! And the cherry on top of the badass icing on the cake: You actually got to hold fucking legendary Dean From Hell!
I bet this was a dream come true for you too! So cool man!
RIP ABBOTT BROTHERS.
FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL!
🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
I would be in tears holding the guitar🥺😥. I do Everytime I pick up my brothers guitar sun to flame burst Epiphone ,he bought it for 3 grand I'm not sure what style but it's a beautiful guitar. The last picture of him he had that guitar on stage and a single blue light behind him. He was very good and I can only imagine how good he would be today and what band and in what state!!None of us had much money so he had 3 older guitars 2 amps a practice & a gig amp Peavey 2 x 12 ,the practice was an 8" pignose maybe 6 1/2. But before he passed away he had 8 guitars,2 4 x12 cabinets,Yamaha keyboard, tama drum kit, that flame burst Epiphone and a flying 'v'. When I would get within a few hundred yards we could hear him jamming!lol....He worked, took care of his 13 yr old son(no mom in picture),practiced, run gigs!So it's work, son, gig, practice!!RIP BROTHER!
Too many words bro?
For the love of Dime narrow it down to a fucking point thank you!! Lol!!
🤣🤛🤛
sorry for your lost man ........your bro sounds like a pretty special man......PEACE
@@reasonrally6658 you have eyes so why keep reading? As special as you are I'll not say what I want to say ,my brothers memory is important and so is dimebag's.Even though your being cruel right now I don't hold any Ill will toward you brother.
THUNDERBIRD!! $3,000 epiphone? you sure it wasnt a gibson?
@@poindextertunes Depends on how old the Epiphone is / what model but yeah there aren't many that fetch $3000
Must have been a trip to see all those guitars and to be in his home. I was emotional just watching the video.
I remember that guitar. It is one of his favorites and he was playing it when we held up the banner my friend drew. He stopped and Big Val came out and said see you after the show.
Still can’t believe He is gone ... He was the best!!! RIP
Lovely collection
Quickest half hour ever! Damn good stuff!!
This is a historical video for most all metalheads... a tremendous achievement Ola.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Was that Chad Lee in the background? I remember when Dime passed, Chad sold a limited number (200) Dimebag photos for a charity fund. So proud to own one and thanks to Chad for posting all the way to Scotland
Thank you Grady for keeping his collection together. When I was healthy before lupus and mixed convective tissue disease and other health problems got me disabled I was on my way to the show I lived close by. I wish I was there and no flat tire I would of tryed to take that guy out or took dimes bullets for him! This has greatly impacted my life well as so many others. I don't have much in life disabled dad im in my house every day but I'd give everything I own for one of his axes! Tears rolling as I see this video! First time ever I'm no good with the net! What I would give to meet him in person I only got to go to one show never talked to him wish I could of. I'm so happy you kept them together! Tears of hurt and joy to see these come out the cases and stories! I would take one over 50 million dollars priceless! Just to hold and play one of his axes would be magical! Some people dream of big homes fancy cars money so on. My dream would be a guitar of his! Love the legendary one with the lightning but in reality all are just as special in my eyes. Please if you see this if can respond Brother. Just that would mean so much to me. Man thank you so very much! I will watch this 1000 times im sure! Sorry so long but Tears rolling while watching this listing to walk! But joy of sadness and joy! Dime touched my life still touches my heart! My 14 year old son he knows everything about Dime again man God Bless you Brother. And for real I wish I never had a flat tire I would of did everything I could of to stopped that crazy guy or took them bullets for Dime!
I'm so glad "From Hell" is back in its rightful resting place. Must have been so surreal to walk past it, turn around and go "oh, its right there."
I can't imagine how it would feel to have such and in-depth experience like this. Incredible
Id be a mess just stepping into his house. Bad ass guitarist with clearly a gentle soul. Our world got a bit worse when he left.
Cool man seeing and holding that history and what an honor inspiration!Same with the commentary on each guitar lucky dude! Seen Pantera so many times in concert Dimebag whole band jammed so hard and clean giving everything performing live seen! I remember many of these guitars in concert or videos too! Never got to see Damage Plan was bummed! Thanks, Rita, Grady Ola for sharing! RIP Dimebag!
It's crazy that you got to see all of this, some of these guitars are a major part of rock n roll history... unreal
The dwi guitar is all I can think of is "come on Bobby open it up dude!"

Thanks for taking us with you ! We all needed this.
These guitars miss their master Ola. I couldn’t imagine the energy you felt inside that place. I would definitely get emotional in there. RIP Dime and Vinnie. Gone, but sure as hell ain’t forgotten. CFH for life!
