Watching this with my 3 year old son in the room, when you said "Oh sh*t" he repeated that. Now he's saying that all up and down the house. Thanks Ola his first swear word learned from a legend.
Well, I did it! Became a member today! Dime is the very reason I started playing guitar. I saw Pantera for the first time at Denver's "Red Rocks" during the "Great Southern Trend Kill" tour. Dime became my inspiration and hero... and ever since I've been... "BECOMING" Thanks for being such a huge fan Ola. I love how much you care about Dimes legacy. It means a lot. Take care! 🤘
Same here man I was 12yrs old when Far Beyond Driven came out and that did it! I got to see them with Slayer, Static X and Morbid Angel in 2000 🤘 Happy Birthday Dime!
I saw Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera with Black Sabbath headlining for their reunion tour on New Year's Eve (they called the concert "New Year's Evil") of 1999 at the Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, AZ - killer show!
It's amazing how this guitar is worn, 95 seems like forever ago, Dime is gone for over 15 years yet still the music and his playing is still the freshest, most alive thing out there. Love you, Dime, RIP, brother
It’s a legendary guitar that you should keep all your life cause it’s a Dimebag Custom shop and it was from 1995! Dime was in Pantera and they were shredding it up making the albums. Never get rid of that guitar it’s special
The "weird thing" that is happening on the finish is old sweat from hands. Someone didn't clean it up and put it in it's case. So the sweat started to interact with the laquer of the finish.
I heard the Cowboys From Hell album before it came out . Well most of it anyway from demos that they did. All the way down here in Australia bitd.. Some mates of mine supported Pantera when they toured some Southern states. I was hooked from my 1st listen. RIP Dime & Vinnie
I'm not sure if I'm ever going to have a child but I'm doing my best to get my little nephew into Pantera. So far this was very successful, I'm saving up for a guitar for him as a birthday present. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIMEBAG! GETCHA PULL!
Happy Birthday, Dime. Your music lives on. Not only because of your recorded music, but because of people like Ola, who love and celebrate your music by playing it.
These Dime vids are always bittersweet, but I like to think, in a parallel universe, Ola is doing videos with Dimebag sitting there, the two of them trading riffs, and Dimebag listening and going "hell yeah dude!" in encouragement.
Hey Ola! I’m 13 and I first heard Pantera three years ago, ever since then I’ve listened to them almost everyday. All my friends like bullshit music and I can never find anyone that respects Pantera and good music. All I’m saying is I’m very happy that you are trying to teach people more about dimebag and his shortly lived legacy. Thankyou and rock on 🤘
One thing I’ve noticed over the years of playing my budget dime models, when you play a true custom shop or American standard model with no amplification the quality of the wood shines through acoustically. Much like an acoustic, those strings just sounded so much better than my Korean. Especially the bass notes. God, I wish I could afford a Washburn or even a USA model. Hell, you cant even find them anymore. This video made my day. I’m obsessed Dinebag and his washburn models! Thanks for sharing Ola!
Dime is one of my all time favorite guitarists, both for his epic riffs and for his epic personality. I have one of the Dean ML Dime guitars in matte black, and love it. Appreciate you celebrating his birthday and legacy. Keep rocking!
I have to change strings today too... I love when I have time to do it and treat it as some sort of „off spa time“... but I hate changing strings when you HAVE TO and don’t have time to do it... uuuggghhhh

God bless Pantera and Dimebag! They are getting me through a rough patch in my life. I didn’t listen to them until just recently a few years ago but it’s like I found a new band.
Ola never disappoints but for whatever reason this particular video was the most I've laughed in a while. I needed that so thank you my friend...actually thank you for all that you do!
Happy Birthday DIMMEBAG ... I remember meeting him in New York Irving Plaza 2 weeks before he was gone @ a Damage Plan concert with my buddies opening act I'll Ninõ ... The Washburn Dimme Bolt is the first nice guitar I ever owned ... My father gave to me when I was 16 years old in 1996 ... My father is also gone ... So The Bolt is the most valuable guitar I ever owned in everyway ... I will never sell for no money ... I still own this guitar. More power to you Ola and Cheers to Dime ... I'm celebrating with a drink. Congratulations on this video Ola .. it's amazing.
It's not just teaching young kids about Pantera. It's also about reteaching old kids about Pantera & Dime. Folks like me, who knew Pantera and knew Dime, but never put 2 & 2 together that Dime is the guy that played the most badass licks for Pantera. For whatever reason, it just, never registered with me until recently. More than that, it never mattered to me, either. So I never cared to put much thought into it. Then I started playing and I met a guy that also plays guitar. And he plays because of Dime. So any time I brought up my favorite player, he brought up Dime. And I finally decided to see what Dime was about since he's the greatest metal guitarist ever. That's where things really took off and I came to the realization that Dimebag Darrell is one of the main people that made me want to learn to play. I'd have never realized that had I not met my friend Mike. He knew Dime & Vinnie Paul and knows Grady & Rita. I told him that whenever I finally go to Dallas to visit Dime & Vin, I'm brining Mike with me. Not because he knows them(Rita & Grady) but because he loves Dime as much/more than I do! 🎸❤️
okay, yes, the finish has got some wear, i get it. however it’s still a vintage custom washburn. i’d kill for one of these in poor condition, whos with me?!
I bought one in 97 at Mother's Music. It's been through hell and back. The headstock finally broke a few years ago when somebody tripped over the cable while I had it leaning up during a break. The finish is chipped away in spots, and you can barely make out Dime's autograph. Best thing I'ver ever bought, hands down. Sounds fantastic. The neck is amazing. I had no idea what I was buying when I did, I was just a fanboy. It ruined me on other guitars for years.
When I play his songs.... we'll attempt to. Yea it takes me back to those teenage days too. The older I get it seems I try to hold on to those things I love, even when there no longer there. Happy BDay Dime. We miss you. Ola your awesome for paying tribute and for doing the strangest restring I think I've ever seen. Your cool though. Good job.
Lol.. in 95' I bought my dream guitar.. a Jackson Rhoads... No, I couldn't play it sitting down but I did not care! Awesome video and thank you; the axe sounds utterly AMAZING still after all the years!
You can’t own patents on guitar shapes/headstocks. Patents are for unique inventions like the floyd rose. A copyright only applies to artistic outputs like books, music and film. What company like gibson and fender have are trademarks over their headstock/logo designs. Trademarks are used as an identifier for the companies brand like the distinctive silver apple with a bite out of it that tells you this is from the company Apple. Gibsons recent lawsuit with dean was over trademark. Now quite a few major cases of guitar body related trademarks have failed like gibsonVDean and GibsonVPRS. But companies like ESP have tried to distance themselves from Gibson designs like the LP and EX models they did pre-2000. Cause company even when in the right generally don’t like being tied up in lawsuits, like ESP were iirc. Ola could probably make an X shaped guitar as Charvel, jackson and ESP have made them. But they arn’t exactly like the Dean ML. But he definitely couldn’t copy deans distinctive headstock shape. The issue is even if OLA could legally make the ML shape, it wouldn’t stop dean from trying to take legal action. Like I said lawsuits are time consuming and expensive.
For whatever reason, hearing you say "I should get a stereo and listen to Pantera, that would get me in the mood..." then cut to the next shot and Far Beyond Driven is paused on Spotify is just my favorite thing ever.
Happy birthday to the most badass 6 string slinger to ever do the damn thing! Me and my wife were literally talking about this exact guitar of yours last night before bed and woke up to this video! Keep up the dime content. We love it!
👏👏👏👏 That guitar brings back so many memories. So cool that you celebrate his birthday. I remember all my friends getting custom Jacksons, charvel guitars that even in 1992 were still $2200-$3000...may as well have been a million dollars. Pantera and white zombie hands down the best show still to this day that I have ever gone to (Korn is always epic)Cemetery gates still one of my favorite songs of all time....🙏
Remember when arise was realeased and the guitar book was like 0 0 0 0 0 007 we were like wtf...then they played it live speed...all down picking...Dime loved that shit....it influenced him to shredd
Ola. Brother. I had no idea Dime would have such an effect on me so long after he was taken from us. I listened to Pantera HEAVY as a kid. Had every album as soon as it hit stores. Later, I got older and started getting messed up too much. And when Dime died, it never registered with me that he was Pantera and Pantera was Dime. Today, now that I play guitar I see things sooooo much differently. 😭 I never imagined that Dime would have this sort of effect on me. It makes me sick that I missed so much of Pantera and the time after Pantera because I was too busy getting high. Thank God I at least still have the memories of listening to their music. Cemetery Gates was ALWAYS my favorite song of theirs. Hearing it today, it's so, obvious that's Dime's squeal in the main riff. 🙏❤️🎸 Rest in Peace, Dime & Vinnie! 🙏❤️
I've been doing a Daily Dose of music on my channel and this is the last day of Pantera week. It worked out to be Dime's bday and video 100. Coincidence? Or masterful planning?
Little tip for Floyds: Block the trem so it's level where you want it to be, tune it, and when you remove the block and it's unbalanced, just screw the claw in or out until it's in tune again.
I only recently learned this after years of frustration. I'm originally a rhythm player with hardtails being my eternal friend then one day someone says "you ever tried doing lead?" "No, none of that widdly widdly shit for me..." *secretly goes off to buy Floyd equipped guitar and fails to get on with it apart from righteous divebombs lol* The block to level the Floyd trick is essential to get the thing in tune
RIP Dime \m/ Your tone on the amp demo is unreal, EQ on the input and all, almost perfect! Some people say the Bill Lawrence originals sound better than the dimebucker...seems so. For Floyds, absolutely ball ends at the top! I remember when Dime told someone his amps were solid state, my jaw dropped. Killer tone Ola, great vid.
Never been a huge dimebag fan, but I liked and commented on the video anyway. The content is good. Its always satisfying to watch you clean all the alien jizz off from your guitars
I love watching this stuff, even tho I'm a drummer it's still interesting to see how a guitar and better to see people giving respect to a legend, rip dimebag and vinny
It's funny. When I realized that today was dimebags birthday, immediately thought "huh, I wonder if ola is doing something", and sure enough here it is. R.I.P. brother. Dixie will forever remember you.
Dude, I absolutely love this guitar. So glad that you did this setup today. It’s actually pretty great that you are doing videos like this. Keepin things real and down to earth. Happy BDay Dime! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥
Happy Belated Birthday, Dime. Guitar turned out sweet. Like you, I remember the GW ads and Dime's column ("...so put your feed bag on...":). Never saw any of these in shops. Nice score.
Learning the guitar is the only thing I've never been able to learn?? everyone said practice practice practice I did but no matter what I tried I've never been able to improve..all I wanted was this guitar and be able to play along with Dime and then after his accident I stopped trying then and there🤘🤘🤘
Wow. Dime's bday is exactly 1 month before mine. I never knew that. That's a beautiful guitar, Ola! I couldn't tell you how honored I'd be to own it. 🙏
I remember seeing Pantera with White zombie when Great southern trendkill was brand new so new in fact i didn't even have the cd yet. They started off the show with suicide pt1 and 2. Totally mind blowing awesome. IN fact it was Dime birthday when i saw them.Dime gave phil the guitar and started to play paranoid. Dime sang and phil played the guitar. Don’t puss out on showing off the stars and bars guitar lol
Ola if you ever show up in Michigan, I'm getting YOUR autograph because you're that level of bad ass. Much respect for keeping Dime's legacy alive!
My favorite guitar will always be the Washburn Dime Slime!! Just amazing paint job!
It warms my heart to see your backward picking technique , im not alone thank god!
I love watching this stuff, even tho I'm a drummer it's still interesting to see how a guitar and better to see people giving respect to a legend, rip dimebag and vinny
Hell yes bad ass guitar, Dime is and will always be my all time favorite guitar player. RIP DIME gone but definitely not forgotten.
It's funny. When I realized that today was dimebags birthday, immediately thought "huh, I wonder if ola is doing something", and sure enough here it is. R.I.P. brother. Dixie will forever remember you.
That finish just shows its been played and loved like guitars should be
Was just recently my birthday and anything including Dime I can gladly and greedily accept as a birthday present. Cheers from Canada Ola 🤘🤘
Nice to see these guitars being cared for and played like they should be (instead of being locked away in a case)
I keep coming back to this vid, cos the way the lightning bolts look in this shot is fucking amazing!! 16:54
Awesome guitar, Ola!
Dude, I absolutely love this guitar. So glad that you did this setup today. It’s actually pretty great that you are doing videos like this. Keepin things real and down to earth. Happy BDay Dime! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🔥🔥
Keep on rocking brother from Houston Texas. I miss dime so much. 💔
Happy birthday Dime! I own a 98 Korean Dimebolt that I absolutely adore. I would love a D3 someday. Your Dimebolt is so sick with the natural back.
God I love your humor Ola, and you own all the dime guitars I wanted when I was 14
Happy Belated Birthday, Dime.
Guitar turned out sweet.
Like you, I remember the GW ads and Dime's column ("...so put your feed bag on...":). Never saw any of these in shops.
Nice score.
thank you Ola and happy birthday Dime
Nice Tribute Brother!
Rest in Peace Dime!
Be Well All!
Goodmorning everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful and safe day.
Much love from Cincinnati Ohio

I remember seeing Pantera with White zombie when Great southern trendkill was brand new so new in fact i didn't even have the cd yet. They started off the show with suicide pt1 and 2. Totally mind blowing awesome. IN fact it was Dime birthday when i saw them.Dime gave phil the guitar and started to play paranoid. Dime sang and phil played the guitar. Amazing experience i will never forget .ROCK ON FOREVER DIME!!!!!
