Shanice and David did a fabulous job with the song! I was skeptical about David returning to the story of OZ along with Ms. Latifah after they played Auntie Em & Uncle Henry in the Muppets Wizard of Oz starring Ashanti as Dorothy. But he turned in a really good performance as the Lion even if his entrance during Ease On Down The Road was rushed.
Shanice and David really killed this song. LOVED IT!! SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FILM VERSION!!!!

The wiz movie was Dark & Scary. I never liked it as a kid because of the weirdness. The live version is a,axing and this song stuck w/ me till the end. Amazing talents here.
I like both versions of the Wiz equally but this one had more visual beauty and depth
The Wiz wasn’t supposed to be a children’s story. It mirrored life’s harsh struggles of Black America..🤷🏾♀️

Please don't hate me. I prefer the diana ross version better for this song. I just think that one has more of the feels.

...sorry, this is decent but the Stephanie Mills/Hinton Battle version (to my ears) is far superior.
Hinton Battle was the Tinman in the original, Ted Ross was the lion.
