Hoo boy... THE moment we all dreaded. We still don't know for sure how this will be resolved but it's still emotional as hell. Rex Sterling was my favorite. I felt it the most. The complete joy at first with the "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!" and then the confused sadness with the timid "i don't understand...😢" Exactly how i felt.
There's so so many great clerith scenes to pick from, but this is one of my favorites! First time we see Cloud show this much emotion. First time we see him cry! (or second technically). One of the fewer moments he really just acts like himself, not trying to prove anything to anyone. Probably the most vulnerable he's been. And the whole ending section actually. So great!
I still remember when I experienced this, Monday 2am. I wanted to scream when Cloud blocked it only for the next scene to play. Part 3 pls just give them a happy ending

Cloud asks Aerith to wait for him in the Sleepy forest too … maybe a parallel there … I just watched the trial of Cloud (Fr/Jap) and wow the last lines of Sephiroth gave me goosebumps. And here what he says to Cloud just before the Jenova fight has,too me at least, a different meaning. He doesn’t talk about « cloudded eyes to see the truth) but points that Cloud is not able to feel the surge of emotions that’s happening. These reactions are so heartbreaking. Honestly it's a huge contrast to any Cloti reaction. They're usually blank faced and emotionless to her dying, almost seeming relieved at the idea her death is approaching during the part of the scene where Cloud is puppet controlled.
I know. The people who are mad at this ending are probably Aerith haters who just want the game to follow the OG and for Aerith to die. They say there's no emotion to it???? I got a headache from all the back and forth crying! The best way to watch this game is through a Clerith perspective 🥺❤️

This was my first time experiencing this moment myself. It was before I did the original 1997 game. I was DISTRAUGHT!!! Holding Cloud back (even though I didn't know that's what the buttons do. I didn't push them because they can't make me do it) so relieved, and then full of saddness and anger! You'd be surprised of how I played it out.

Not only that. "You'll be okay" instead of "it's okay". Or Cloud yelling "Sephiroth" instead of "Oh no" and that one may be important. If you remember the scene where Marlene describes Aerith’s death, Sephiroth's name is not mentioned by Zack. Cloud is also there, in a comatose state, but we’ve already noticed that he can see through his other self. So, in the altar scene, we can see the description Marlene gave coming to life before us, and at the end of which Cloud cries out in Japanese/French "Sephiroth." Like it could be a "wake-up" call. What happened to Cloud at that moment? Did his two selves "connect" at that moment, reaching another level of awakening, of understanding? And, if the Terrier timeline still exists, what happened there? Or maybe it was just cinematic.
For some reason I just love watching cloud giving every thing he had to protect Aerith when he swings his sword to stop sephiroth🥹🥹 and I can watch that in this video over and over again 🙏thank you

Was funny to watch how many times he cried over the little things. But yeah they understnd the story and at a certain point they restart the game to get the best answers.

I don't understand, how there are fans of this game that downplay or don't understand the importance of whether she lives or dies. It's funny that when the game was released the biggest criticism that stopped reviewers from giving it a perfect score was the "messy" ending, but after watching countless reactions, I don't think it could have been directed any better. The fact that nearly everyone reacts in a similar manner just shows how much they nailed it. Shock, confusion, denial... And eventually... acceptance. I cannot understand how anyone thinks her dying in a clear or obvious way would have been an improvement, especially if you already know what's coming. They successfully managed to make us feel what Cloud felt in that moment, an incredible feat when we've had almost 30 years to process this story. Someone dying is sad, of course. Someone creating an entirely new reality because they can't accept the fact that someone died? That's beyond heartbreaking.
Even thought I'm a Cloti, I still found myself having grown fond of Aerith. She's like that best friend who, even though she can be a little annoying, made life interesting. But, I hold out hope that we're going to get that satisfying ending the Devs are talkng about, especially since it's official that Cloud successfully deflected the Masamune.
I've heard a few people say that, that the devs confirmed that Cloud deflecting Masamune was real and not in his head. But where was that said? I WANT that to be the case obviously but I've never seen any of the superfans like Max Dood, Sleepezi, Blitz or anyone talk about that.
ottomobile is definetly an odd Clerith if he is one. I know he went for Aerith because he knows she's the one to get for story purposes. But he likes Tifa personally. And I remember during stream he got a comment calling Aerith 'mid' and he kinda agreed thinking they were talking about her looks. I've also seen quite a few people who intentionally go for Aerith in the first 2 games then say that Cloud will falls in love with Tifa in the next part of the story (maybe not this guy though. Don't remember). Just thought I'd warn some Clerith fans about this type of thing in case you're not into that.
I went back and reviewed much of his playthrough, he for sure leans clerith and has a good understanding of the story. It's totally fine to be CA and still like Tifa btw, I don't mind Tifa one bit, I'm not a fan of her in Rebirth but I liked Tifa in OG and in Remake for the most part. Otto does get pressure from chat, so he may try to pander to them slightly.

*_Unpopular opinion, but I never wanted the developers to “save” Aerith. Her death is the crux of FFVII. Without that moment, the story of FFVII doesn’t exist. Furthermore, as Clerith, Cloud and Aerith’s love for each other supersedes life itself and that of the physical world. It’s an eternal love that isn’t bound to the confines and restraints of earth. That’s why so much imagery surrounding them and their relationship involves stars, playing into the theme of “star-crossed lovers”. A nice Easter egg illustrating this is when Cloud sees Aerith for the first time in her red dress at Wall Market, she’s wearing a star anklet and star necklace. ❤️⭐️_*

Why change the Japanese dialog of " Wait for me " to " I've got this " it changes the whole meaning and makes it less intimate.
