- How to Install Waydroid on Zorin OS 16.1 | Waydroid Install | Waydroid on Zorin OS | Waydroid Zorin Install Step by Step | Waydroid is a container-based approach to boot a full Android system on a regular GNU/Linux system like Ubuntu. Waydroid uses Linux namespaces (user, pid, uts, net, mount, ipc) to run a full Android system in a container and provide Android applications on any GNU/Linux-based platform. The Android inside the container has direct access to needed hardware.
Installation Steps:
1. Do an apt Update
2. Install lxc , curl , ca-certificates [ sudo apt install lxc curl ca-certificates ]
3. Verify Python on Zorin
4. Make Sure you are Logged in as Zorin on Wayland
5. Create Waydroid Images Directory
6. Download System.img and Vendor.img and Copy them to Waydroid Images
7. Install Waydroid [ sudo apt install waydroid ]
8. Init Waydroid
9. Start Waydroid Container & Session
10. Start Waydroid
Tips:
1.No need to Install libgbinder as it Installs automatically with Waydroid
2. No need to edit and Change Anbox.Conf file
3. You can use waydroid show-full-ui to start waydroid in full screen mode

I can't get past waydroid init
I get an ssl error that says it failed to verify the certificate.
I've even looked at the "official documentation" (which for zorin os is from a volunteer) and its github instructions page was literally archived a day ago.
Until newer and proper documentation releases, this video's solution is probably a dud. You can try using the ubuntu/debian instructions, but I've had no luck there either. :/

Wayland socket '/run/user/1000/wayland-0' doesn't exist; are you running a Wayland compositor?
Make sure to enable Wayland from the Login Screen.

You need to be using Wayland.

I install waydroid using your tutorial, after installation, it can open and when launched it through the terminal I got that error 👆, my first comment .

after enter this line "sudo waydroid container start" it's stuck not even showing to enter the password also
you might have missed something. are you sure you followed all the steps in true order?
that maybe because you had already entered your password when you used sudo previously on the same terminal session. SO no need of entering password. It is stuck because it is doing something in the background. the video skipped thats why it seemed quick there. let it sit. i am currently also doing the same thing while typing this comment. i have spent a whole day trying to get waydroid to work. lets hope it works finally.

When you download system image and vendor image do you have to extract it?
You need system.img and vendor.img | You will need to extract the archive to get both of these files.
